The conditions of Hotel are in great shape and the room is beautiful and well-maintained. I will live in this hotel next time when I am around DC.

| This room was recently upgraded with a new bed and furnishings. While the room was rather small the great location on the Hill makes it easily accessible to most locations. Since I'm not sure all rooms have been upgraded make sure you ask for an upgraded room.

| Was very impressed with cleanliness and comfort of the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Bed was super comfortable. Went to tour Smithsonians which was only a 15 minute walk from the hotel. The attached bar was a little pricey for food and drink but we later found out $4 for a pint of yuengling was the going rate around town.Would definetly stay here again.

| Our room (902) was clean but very small. So small that the closet holding the TV had to be on a side wall rather than facing the bed, and there was no way to watch TV except when standing up at the foot of the bed. The romm was obviously designed to be handicapped accessible -- options that, fortunately, we neither need nor requested. It had rails in the bathroom, a raised toilet seat, no bathtub, and a shower with a fold-down bench. We were too tired to complain, but figure that we got this room because it was the only available one after we rejected the one originally assigned to us, because of a strong stench of tobacco. Another annoyance was that the bed was small (a single queen, or maybe double, sized bed) and unusually high off the floor. WiFi Internet access was available, but cost $10/day. It worked reliably once we got past some minor setup pains... (a broken PHP script that spewed megabytes of logging info into our browser window). The flourescent lights in the hall buzzed, but were not audible from inside the room. Despite all these minor annoyances, the hotel was clean and pleasant. Also, of course, wonderfully close to everything... easy walking distance to the National Mall and Museums, and very close to Union Station and Amtrak. Despite these minor annoyances, the hotel

| The hotel was unique and clean, nice rooms. The staff was courteous and veryhelpful. We had a toilet issue in our room, so they sent a bellhop and we changed rooms. They were a little slow dealing with the issue, but good overall. The location is great, right near Union Station, with the Dubliner and Irish Times right downstairs and the Capitol City Brewery across the street. Our first night there, we didn't stray more than a block! You are also really close to the Mall and the Capitol, you can see it from the front of the hotel. We would definitely stay here again!

| The best thing about this hotel is its location: it's just two steps from the Union station w/ the metro, Amtrak, tours, food courts, shopping and movies. The rooms were pretty clean but noisy - we could hear neighbors talking and coughing as well as noise from the street. Also, the nonsmoking status of our room was a bit of a joke. The room was near an elevator and people smoked there all the time. So when we'd arrive we'd have to run for our room trying not to breathe in and hope not much of the smoke would get in. When complained to the hotel clerk, we were told that there were some smoking rooms on the floor and so nothing could be done. They did suggest another room but it was too much hassle to move at that point.

| I went to this hotel thinking it would be a cheap one, a step above the average motel, but I got there and was pleasantly suprised. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from Union Station and very close to the Capitol building. The rooms are really nice too. They were a little small but very comfortable. I definitely got a good deal in going to Phoenix Park Hotel!

| Most comfortable bed I've ever had in a hotel room. The bed was huge! It nearly filled up the entire room, which was pretty tiny. If you've seen European hotels, then this one will not be surprising. Tiny rooms, tiny elevators, friendly staff, etc. The restaurant is good too.

| Hotel was very nice. Staff was very knowledgable and friendly. Although my room was very small, I really liked the room. Nice decor. Maybe it was the inexpensive rate that relegated me to such a small room. Loved the Dubliner Irish Pub. The fish and chips was much bigger than I expected.

| If arriving in Washington by train at Union Station, the location of the hotel is excellent. No need, even for a taxi. (My room was cold, and I couldn't adjust the temperature. I didn't complain, since I was tired upon arrival, and was leaving the next day. So, I don't know what the hotel's response would have been.)

| This is an older hotel so the rooms are not very big and the two small elevators really showed their age but the hotel was clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. As with most hotels in big cities, valet parking only at $25 per day which really adds to the cost. The Dubliner Bar and Restaurant on the first floor is a GREAT place to go. Entertainment every night. A drawback for me was no ice machine on the "penthouse" floor.

| I liked the hotel. It is a little dated but it works well for the business traveler. It is convenient to Union Station and the Capitol and the House and Senate office buildings. I had two reservations. First, the room had a distinct smell of smoke even though it was on a non-smoking floor; presumably the smoke was coming from another room, maybe on another floor. Second, the hotel restaurant is just okay for breakfast although it is a fun place at night.

| Excellent location, tradition, amenities, staff. Great potential although during my stay the hot water pump went out one night resulting in an ice cold shower and the magnetic room key failed to work resulting in an additional trip to the front desk. Other than that, the room, amenities, service, cleanliness, locations, etc were excellent. The Dubliner Irish Bar adjacent to the hotel had great food, atmosphere, and beer. Hotel staff were attentive and the location is an easy walk to the Capitol. I would and will stay again.

| The Phoenix Park is a bit small, but a nice place to stay. Appeared to be fresh, attractive carpet in the halls. The room was a little cramped, but clean, functional, and comfortable. The Dubliner pub is quaint and rustic, but the food is only average. We didn't have much need of staff services, but when we dealt with them they were courteous and helpful. Housekeeping did a good job making up the room each day.The hotel is right across the street from Union Station. We traveled by Amtrak, so that's a major reason we picked the Phoenix Park. Within walking distance of National Mall area (about a mile), or an easy subway hop from Union to Smithsonian station. Old World trolley tour available from Union was fun and worthwhile.I definitely recommend the Phoenix Park, especially if you like well kept older buildings (lots of wood and brass, and a neat crystal collection behind the front desk).

| The Phoenix Park is charming and comfortable. Service was friendly. A problem was promptly fixed, food is limited but well prepared. Everything has an Irish theme. It would have been nice if they had a gift shop, but they are 1 block from Union Station, so it's easy to buy needed toiletries. The hotel was quiet. Non- smoking rooms were totally free of smoke.I would definitely recommend it.

| This hotel was in a perfect location. Two blocks to the metro made it accesible to everything we needed to see in D.C. It also made it easy to access for us from the airport (Reagan National) when we arrived. We hopped a train and arrived at Union Station and saved the expense of a cab or a shuttle. The staff was superb. They were knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms were clean and adequate. The bellmen were always available for a cab or other transportation needs. We will definitely stay again.
