-Comfortable beds and pillows. -Lobby looks nice. -Room is not so modern, but will do. -Didn't really get cold water from the sink faucet. I put it all the way to get cold water, but only lukewarm water came out. -Walking distance to the Metro. -Friendly staff.

Close to the metro station. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They will help you coordinate the routes and means to accomplish your plans. We booked three to a room which was a little uncomfortable because the beds are not that large but we saved money so it was worth it. USA Today delivered to door daily. The hotel upscale restaurant is not worth the expense. Have a drink but eat elsewhere. The hotel and area around hotel is safe. Hotel is conveniently located when entering DC via 50. I will be a repeat visitor to this hotel.

The major problem I had with this hotel is that all windows in the rooms face into a glass atrium courtyard which extends to the roof. Great idea for bringing more light into the hotel. However, I would've preferred real windows. The problem? 1. No privacy, you face everyone else who has their curtains open. 2. No fresh air, you only get the recycled air conditioned air that everyone else has breathed 3. Elevated noise level, since the atrium on the ground floor is the lobby, belldesk and bar, it becomes very noisy.

After an apartment emergency key me out of my place for 5 days, I just needed a dry place to stay. The Wyndham was that and more. The room was fantastic, and the staff was excellent and helpful. One night there was a group of kids making a lot of noise in the hall, and it was handled quickly and kindly.

I found the Wyndham Washington to be very appealing at the ground floor level. Great bakery, adequate shop. Front desk staff, valets, concierge were all very helpful and pleasant. The cleaning staff left a lot to be desired. The Wyndham, in an effort to be "ecological," allows you to indicate that you're okay with reusing bed sheets and linens, and that's fine. But I think it has given the cleaning staff the idea that cleanliness is not a priority. Even when I left notes asking for certain things to be done, they weren't.

The Wyndham Washington D.C. was very nice. All the staff that we came into contact with were very friendly and willing to help. The hotel is located conveniently to a Metro entrance. Two drawbacks - if you are driving in yourself - the building is not easily seen from the street and - during our visit - there was a lot of road construction making it very difficult to get to.

Although I requested a non-smoking room, myself and a colleague were both put on a smoking floor. When asked to be moved to a non-smoking room, we were told "no." Our rooms reeked of smoke and one of us suffered respiratory ailments as a result. As well, there were remnant of the previous guest in the hotel bathroom - hair in and around the bathtub.

Only problem is that the internet is not free, it would have been nice if that was included with the fee.

The hotel was overbooked at check in time and we were offered a bigger room with 2 king beds and a sleeper sofa that would be available in 2 hours aftered being made up. It also had a balcony but the view was overlooking a dingy rooftop. The room should have been vacuumed better and the bathtub was still slick. The registration staff was helpful and welcoming, but the restaurant staff seemed tired and unfriendly. There is a breakfast buffet each morning until 10:30a. It looked very good and we would have ordered it, but since we got to the restaurant right at 10:30a, we were told the buffet was closed. The hotel is a very good choice due to it's location and price.

The hotel is beautiful. We loved it but when we asked for a place to have breakfast the concierge said there wasn't a place around, only the another hotel next door. We stayed there and the service was awful for the kind of hotel it is. Then, when we left the hotel towards the White House (it was our first day in DC), we found 4 places for breakfast, let alone Subway and 3 Starbucks! We've just asked for something very simple, information that we always got in other places. I think their customer service is really bad. Then after a long day walking, their pub was closed, so no fast dinner. Thank God there was a really good Malaysian restaurant near by. Not a place for families with kids. Also, my neck got sore because the pillows are really really soft.

Overall, nice, confortable hotel but unhelpful check in staff. We had requested a nonsmoking double but were given a nonsmoking king on the first night and told that we would have to vacate first thing in the morning since a "VIP" had reserved our room. The check in staff was unapologetic and somewhat rude. The next morning we (wife + 2 toddlers)for 3 hours for the room switch to occur. The hotel is probably okay for business travelers but not very family friendly.

The room was comfortable. The food was good, but a bit overpriced (the children's menu was excellent!). Use of the fitness equipment is included for guests. This is nice since many Washington hotels charge extra for the exercise room. I would have given a better evaluation if a continental breakfast had been included. They have a very expensive mini-bar and snack assortment in the room and a little gift shop with candy, but CVS is right around the corner with the same stuff for a third of the price! Very limited cable channels.

This is a very nice, comfortable, business-oriented hotel. Fairly convenient to the Capitol mall (about 15 blocks). Staff was courteous, but not very helpful with any requests that go "outside of the lines" (couldn't talk them into popping a bag of microwave popcorn for our kid who has severe food allergies). There's not a lot here to offer for kids in general. It would indeed be a great place for a business visit. We'll keep that in mind next time we plan a FAMILY trip to DC.

This hotel is well situated for most visitors, being only two blocks back from the White House, and the major sights around The Mall are 20-30 minutes walk away. However, the area in the immediate vacinity of the hotel is very quiet in the evenings. There are few restaurants, bars and entertainment spots; most of the coffee shops close at 16:00! Taking this point into consideration, the standard room-rate for this hotel is very high for tourists wishing to sample everything that Washington has to offer. We were lucky and got a very good deal through Expedia, freeing-up money for cabs etc, and hence it was ideal for our needs. It's a balancing act!

This was my second stay but unfortunately not as uneventful as the last.It was a cold night in DC, and after being in the room for a half hour, I realized that heat did not work. It was warmer in the hallway and I had to be fully dressed (including top coat) to feel comfortable. Asked for a room change and when I moved, there were plumbing problems in that room (sink clogged) that they fixed while I went to work out. They compensated by giving complimentary breakfast. Considering the inconvinience, I would have expected a full refund, which other hotel chains have done in the past.

The beds are very comforatble, and the rooms are spacious. The room service food is excellent. Although I did not have time to sample food from the restaurants inside the hotel, i'm sure they will not disappoint. I most definitely would stay here again. Pricewise I could not complain. If i would have stayed at a hotel of this caliber in Manhattan I probably would have paid 2-3 times the price. Overall, very pleased.
