Don't be fooled by the name. But the Palace Hotel is worth the money. Don't be fooled by the fact it says it's three miles away from Times Square. The hotel is located in NJ. You can catch a shuttle to Times, and actually driving distance is closer to 15 minutes. You will have to do some walking because the shuttle drops you off about three blocks from the hotel, unless pay extra. The best part is the friendly hotel staff who was so eager to help out with directions and room accommendations.

The title says it all. The place was a dump. I wouldn't go back even if the choice was to stay in my car.

I could not WAIT to write this review. I do not want ANY decent hard working person to waste thier money on this place unless they are DESPERATE and there is no where else to stay. The lobby of this place will fool you. It is really nice and classy. Once you get past the lobby and into those weird hallways, you get an uneasy feeling. Then you get to those rooms, and your heart sinks. The rooms are tiny, the T.V. is tiny, there were cigarette burns in the bedding, there were holes in the curtains, there was no shampoo or any other welcome amenities. There was no menus, not even a BIBLE, no critique sheet, and nothing to let you know something about the area. There were ANTS in the room, the heating didn't work, and WORST of all, you can't even DIAL OUT to a local number! So if you don't have a cell, you're just SOL, and what if something happened? This is the WORST place I've stayed at, and I refused to even stay the night, that's how uneasy I felt. I will NEVER go back to this place again, and I wish I had known and/or read the reviews before I wasted my money on this place.

Hey if all you are going to do in the hotel is sleep, shower, and maybe watch a little TV, then this is your hotel. The room, the service, and maintenance are all average. Nothing out of the ordinary or special. If you just need a place to crash, stay here. Oh yeah all those negative reviews make this place seem like a nightmare, not so.

After reading several negative reviews of this hotel, I was a little worried about staying here, but I was in for quite a surprise. The hotel was quite cozy and the staff all extremely nice. Don't go there expecting luxury, there isnt much in the way of amenities, but for us three poor early 20s people, it was a great place to crash for a few days. The price was right and went well above my expectations for such a cheap hotel. The rooms were a bit small, but all we did there was sleep anyway, so it didnt really matter. Also, the room only has a shower stall and not a bathtub. There's a free breakfast that pretty much consists of cereal, boiled eggs, bagels, and yogurt but it's better then nothing. So to sum up...it's a pretty good quality place to stay when you're on a budget.

It was nice inside by the lobby, but that was the only nice place. The room we had was tiny. The bathroom was a shower only, no bathtub. The area the hotel was in was very poor looking. I regret paying for the 4 days ahead of time. I wish we would have paid for 1 night only and then seen how it was and then we could have went somewhere else.
