| Beautiful grounds. Rooms could use serious renovation, carpet had stains. Calls to "Royal Service" took too long to resolve. Jacuzzi was out of service for two days.

| The hotel was certainly large and impressive, with great views and great food service. But it was also very crowded and hard to get a table at the restaurants on the weekend. My wife and I vistited in April for the second half of our honeymoon. The hotel nicely provided us a bottle of champagne and upgraded us to a Fairmont Signature Room which was large, with a king size bed, a seating area, a fake fireplace and a big bathroom. The room was in the Manor Wing, which though separate from the Main Castle building, still provided great views of the Bow Valley. The only complaint I had about the room and service was for some reason they would not restock our soap/shampoo products. Considering the hotel quality, this seemed very wierd. By the end of our stay we could have used some more lotion. Altogether the hotel was very good with great food, views and shops. Certainly worth a stay if you are looking for a large impressive hotel. However, if you have a problem with actually needing a map to get around the hotel, this place may not be for you.

| Spent four nights at the Banff Springs in mid April 2006. Everything from check in to check out went smoothly. Staff friendly and welcoming without being obsequious. Room clean and comfortable. Dining experience in the Grill (dinner buffet) excellent. Pool and spa very nice. Hotel is truly grand, decorated tastefully, and has a sense of history. Setting is gorgeous -- the best of the Canadian West. Minor complaint -- the hotel stores were open on what seemed to be somehwat irregular schedule. That is probably not the case in the high season however. Skiing (nothing to do with the hotel) was excellent at Sunshine (great instructors and 6-8 feet of snow on the ground with more coming down while we were there).

| Great hotel with great service. It is not cheap, but if you are looking for old world charm with incredible views this is the hotel. Some hidden costs, If you visit with a car. Banff national park entrance is $15/day, so for a 5 day stay you will pay $75 canadian dollar. Parking at hotel is $22 or $29 for valet. Meal at Bow valley grill (wonderful views) open buffet $39 adults, but there are 4 other restaurants and prices vary. You can also eat in the town. (our favorite: Banff sushi house) There is complimentary wireless internet in the room. As a destination Banff is wonderful and this is the hotel to stay in.

| Without a doubt, this hotel is the best I've ever experienced (and I travel a lot to other countries.) The service was impeccable and done with genuine interest in being of service. All tips are included, which means you don't stick your hand in your pocket when you drop your car and they bring your bags up. There are 6 unbelievable restaurants, breathtaking views, a magnificent building and a spa that you'll dream about after you leave.

| This is a classic hotel in a beautiful setting. The stories of the place are legendary, and the moutains surrounding the hotel are picturesque. It is expensive, though, reminding me of costs in Europe. Our room was high in the hotel, with poor views- view room were a great deal more expensive.

| From the hotel of this class I'd expect better service - the rooms where cleaned only by 5-6PM. The sheets were not replaced until we asked them to do so...It took a long time to get any extra item missing, such as robes, towels, etc. In general the hotel is beautiful and is located in awesome location with increadible views. The food/restaurants are extremely expensive, expect $100 per person for a dinner for 2.

| If was fun to stay at a hotel that has been around for 100 years. Ambiance is great. Most of the hotel was cared for nicely. The outside mineral pool needs alittle up keep but not bad. The inside pool was closed for cleaning most of the time we were there. The nicer outside and inside hot tubs are only in the for-a-fee 'spa'. The public hot tub is only about 10 degrees hotter than the mineral pool. Very impressive hotel otherwise. Beware of the price for food and drinks in the hotel. Remember if you plan to stay at a 4 star hotel, expect to pay over $100 for two for dinner (one glass of wine to share). Appetizer may be an option. 2 drinks + 2 app > $50. May be more fun to commute 1.5 miles to town and wine/dine there. More selection from high to low. (this is a resort town and locals imbibe at home) Service was very good and staff were very nice. Hotel was very clean and well kept. Saved $60+ by pre-booking ski lifts (free bus service to slopes with multi-day pass). Bed was lumpy and was worst part of stay. Views make up for it. Room views are in the up graded rooms. Basic plan may look at parking garage. Wife did not like pesticide smell that I could not detect. If you are a 4 star hotel stayer and never bother to look at the bill, this is your place. Budget minded might stay in town and take the tour. Either way you should stop by and experience this grand hotel (ehr... castle).

| Hotel is a "one of a kind" within the largest national park in Canada. Great public areas with numerous dining and recreation options. Disappointed with the spa, unable to get appointments. Skiing nearby but all slopes at least a 30 minute bus ride. One should keep in mind it gets very cold in this part of Canada in mid-winter ( we had a few days near zero degrees f. ) and this can be uncomfortable to those from warmer climates such as Southern California.
