this hotel is great for the short term business trip. I stayed for 3 days and it was perfect. I had wireless internet access in my room and a fitness center on the 3rd floor. If you are renting or driving a car you can rest easy with the level of security that is offered in the parking lot. Enjoy your stay!

You get whatcha pay for at the HoJo. It's a solid option, but certainly no frills. If it's a short trip, I recommend putting down the money to stay closer to NYC because you spend a lot of time and cash waiting for transportation. Satisfying service, but not a very convenient option in the end.

The rooms condition was good, but... First make sure you get good directions to get here, i called and the front desk made the directions sound easy, but the name of the road wasnt on the exit sign off of the highway. When we got there we found out it costs $15 to park, every hotel ive stayed it included that in the rooms price. There are airplanes that are loud, but that makes sense its near the airport. The pillows had no stuffing so maybe bring one or request extra.

It was a nice room and very clean but you have to pay parking, $15 a night for something and you can rarely find parking. The parking situation is so bad that at night there's cars park in front of other cars causing the other cars to be stuck. Besides the parking it was an okay stay

The first time I stayed I went with my best friend and the double beds we had were really hard, but I slept. This time around I went with my best friend ( who know is my boyfriend) and the room was great, the king size bed was much more comfortable. We still didn't eat at the resturant we went down the road a bit to a diner which is much cheap and great food.

First impression of the shuttle driver was disturbing. He was constantly spittng out the window. Room Service was speaking to each other loudly in the halls at an early hour. Heard another guest tell them to hush. Restaurant was a joke. Food was over priced and definitely not worth it. I've been to other Howard Johnsons before and this one is giving the Hotel Brand a bad name.

We needed a safe, affordable, and convenient hotel while moving a child to NYU. This hotel offers "free" shuttle service to Newark Airport, which connects to the NJ Transit Rail system straight into NYC's Penn Station. The hotel has ample parking with 24 hour security. The restaurant is small with a thin menu, but it offers selections in nearly every category at reasonable prices. No free paper or continental breakfast, but a very nice place at a killer price!

When I booked the accommodation, I did not realise that it was a hotel and that there would be a parking charge for my car. So although the rate was an expedia special rate and a good one at that, the cost of parking my car at $15 a day (which I had no knowledge of, as it was not stated in the booking)gave me an overall bill much higher than I had budgetted for. I felt cheated! Also because the name of the establishment did not include the word 'hotel'.I will NEVER stay there again.Expedia however is a very reliable and great website for bookings for flight and accommodations. I have always been satisfied with Expedia. In this case, I feel that the accommodation needs to state clearly the parking charges in the booking agreement.
