| My boyfriend and I went to Vegas for our 2 year anniversary. For a hotel on the strip, this was a really good deal. Our room was clean. The bathroom looked like it definitely has had some use over the years (dingy bathtub, scummy shower head) but nothing too horrible. With all the nearby activities, we didn't spend much time in our room anyway. The Tropicana itself doesn't host spectacular events, and the restaurants we ate at were so-so (stayed away from the buffet due to poor reccomendations from everyone). The casino, while full of smokers, wasn't too smokey. Pool area was nice, but I felt it closed too early.

| I found the hotel staff very polite, Found our room to be very clean housekeeping was very very good only thing I can find to complain about was the buffet I didnt find that to my liking but then I am a very fussy eater. I would stay there again anytime. For a older hotel the price was very good and I got what I paid for had I wanted a high class hotel i would of booked that but for the price I was willing to pay this trip was excellant

| The location of the hotel is great. You are within walking to everything. My dislike was the room was uncomfortable to be in. Too Hot!!!!!. Checking in was a wait but hey it's vegas. I got to my room put on AC. When I came back to the room still not change. Call the front desk and ask if someone to check it out. Yes they check it out. I was told it fine. It was cooler in the hallway than the room itself. By the third time asking about the problem with the room I gave up and went on with my vacation. After being in the vegas heat it would be nice to have a cool room to unwind in. Sorry to say I only slept here I didn't want to do anything else with this hotel. I even paid for a room upgrade when I check-in. Maybe I should have taking the basic room.

| We booked two non-smoking tower rooms for our family vacation and was suprised to learn when we checked in at about 10 pm, 19Apr06 that there were no non-smoking rooms available at all. The staff and the manager were very rude and refused to even listen to our complaints. Instead they said there was some small prints somewhere to say that the rooms were not guranteed even though we were charged full price when we booked the hotel through Expedia. At the end, we were forced into two smoking rooms with terrible smells for the first night. The next day, we were able to change to two non-smoking rooms, but instead of two joining rooms, we were given two adjecent rooms without joining doors. The staff there was definitely not considerate at all! In addition, the slot machines need to be updated. It took me over 30 minutes to get my money handpaid by the attendant instead of bar-coded slip at most of the other casinos. Even though I made several bucks on the slot machine, I would not gamble there with the hassle of getting the money out.

| I killed three cockroaches in my hotel room. They gave me a difficult time about checking in early They wanted me to wait three hours and I didn't want to so after a lot of trying to find the right person to talk to they finally let me in the room early. They are NOT friendly. They are NOT helpful.

| Recently stayed here with my senior parents. It was about 10yrs since we last stayed there. I was shocked to see the contrast from my last visit. Due to a low floor request, we were in one of the Garden wings. The elevator was broken two times during our 4 nt stay. We also had plumbing issues during our stay. Despite being understaffed, the staff was friendly & accommodating. I know that the Tropicana is looking for new owners, I hope the new owner gives this property the attention it deserves. It's a great location & it's a shame that it hasn't been kept up over the years.

| We stayed in this hotel from March 26th - March 31st. The service was very friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the hotel was very clean. I was a bit skeptical after reading the reviews of some of the other guests, but was pleasantly surprised from the time we checked in until we check out! I would definitely stay here again, especially for the great price we paid and the wonderful location! Thanks Tropicana great service at a great rate!

| O think it was a good deal for the money, but the Tropicana does everything possible to make your staying in the room a no no ! There is a TV, but the re are only 3 channels which are clear, the reast are blurry, If you request a fridge it' s 25 $ per day, Internet is 14.95 per day , there is not even a coffeemachine, nothing. They want you to go and gamble, that's it. So we went and spent the money elsewhere.

| I stayed at this hotel in August of 2005 for 4 days. The hotel appears very nice on the outside. Our room was kept very clean. I biggest complaint was that we had to wait 45 minutes to check in and everywhere you went in the hotel it smelled like cigarette smoke. We were on a non-smoking floor. I would never stay at this hotel again for that reason. We visted many of the other hotels on the strip and none of them smelled as bad as this one. Inspite of the smell Vegas Rocks!!!!!

| After reading some of the other reviews about the Tropicana Hotel, I was a little nervous about booking.. I decided to take a chance and booked anyway. Let me say this I was VERy PLEASED, Pleasently surprised. I was ther July 22 -24,05 Yes its true the hotel is older and not as glitzy as some of the newer hotels. But the place is still great. The room was clean, fresh and very large. Room service was quick and the food was hot and of good quality. One improvement would be nicer, bigger bath towels. The maid service was as good as any other fine hotel. You will enjoy the pool, very happening place. I recommend renting a cabana for the day. Check in and checking out was simple and the staff was great and friendly. I'll be staying there again.

| My fiance and I came to Vegas to get married. We waited in line to check in for about 20-25 minutes. Once we were able to check in, we had to walk through the casino to get to our hotel room on the opposite side of the hotel. Once there we attempted to turn the air conditioning on because it was 85 degreees outside. The air was barely working and took me three phone calls to get help. They came to fix it but only changed the filter. We ate at the buffet and it sucked. Not worth the thiry some dollars that we paid for it. The casino was ok. Location is nice, you have three other very nice hotels/casinos on the other corners. Next time I know to spend a little more and stay in an updated and nicer hotel.

| We chose the Tropicana because of price. It allowed us to stay an additional night within our budget. Big mistake! The line to check-in was long, not a good start. When we finally made it to the room we had difficulty getting the key to work. After a trip back to the manager's desk (the room was on the 20th floor) the key worked and were able to open the door. However, it had to be 85 degrees in the room when we opened the door. The airconditioner barely worked and only cooled (I am using this term loosely) in the evening when the lights were off and blinds were closed. In the Casino all of the slot machines were old (you receive coins vs. tickets) and the ventilation was terrible (smoke was hard to stand). The staff at Calypso's Restaurant were not very friendly and we heard them openly arguing with each other on more than one occasion. If we had to do it over again it wouldn't be at the Tropicana to stay or even to visit during the day. We would rather have a one day shorter vacation and be able to enjoy it rather than suffering the heat in the room and the lack of friendliness and helpfullness of the staff.

| Unfortunately my stay at this hotel was less than satisfactory. Not only did they not have my reservation when I arrived there, but they told me they would give me a free upgrade when in reality the room I was given was actually a downgrade. None of the keys to my room worked, and instead of trying to fix the problem immediately, my friends and I were told to call the front desk when we wanted to get into our room, a huge inconvenience. The second day of my trip, the power went out in half the hotel and my friends and I had no light and no running water, and the elevators were not working working properly. The quality and cleanliness of the room was fine, their suites are actually quite nice. But the overall experience and service was below average, frustrating and disappointing.

| Tropicana lives in the shadow of several big new resorts and seems like an island of continuity in a sea of constant change. If you want to sample some of Vegas' history this is a good place to do it; look at the many pictures of the original hotel, which hang in the corridors of the old 3-storey 50's-era buildings, and then walk around the property to compare the old parts with the newer additions. If you are looking for the latest, biggest and flashiest properties, Tropicana is not for you.Tropicana's staff were extra-friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Rooms in the Towers were clean, otherwise basic - with good-size bathrooms and extra-large bathtubs. Shampoo, soap, iron & board, laundry bag provided but not much else in the way of room amenities. Rooms would very much benefit from an update!

| Overall, the Tropicana was a nice place to stay. It is one of the older hotels on the Las Vegas strip so it doesn't necessarily have all of the glitz of some of the newer, higher priced hotels. However, the comps are good, the shows are great and besides just gambling there are a lot of shops and other things to do. One thing... The BUFFET is AWFUL!!!! I DO NOT suggest the buffet to anyone. The Prime Rib is some type of processed meat roll and all of the veggies are like rubber. The desserts were class A in appearance but were class OS for Old and Stale. It was the most ridiculous waste of $40 we spent there (even more so than the gambling). They do have some other restaurants that rock though so it's not a total loss. SO..with that said....I would stay there again for the price. You definitley get more than you pay for.

The bathroom had mold on the wallpaper, and there was blood on the curtains. Needless to say, I notified the manager on duty, and they gave me a free upgrade to a room in the "Paradise Tower", located on the 11th floor. This room was more acceptable than the "Standard Room". However, the hotel decided to remove the carpeting in the room above me in the "Paradise Tower" at 8:00 a.m. one morning, and caused a lot of noise and discomfort.
