| Historical landmark- Unlike other chain hotels. Romantic. Friendly and accommodating staff. Welcoming greeting. We really enjoyed having the street life in the front of the hotel and then enjoying the beachside in the back of the hotel. Great live entertainment nightly. Picturesque views. Bathrooms can be renovated and made larger. Rooms were impeccably tidy and clean. Great location! Close to trolleys and walking distance to all great restaurants and shops. Love the rocking chair charm and relaxing feel. Would definitely go back!

| My husband is from Honolulu so we spend time with his family and friends in their homes which is nice but I've never felt that I had the Waikiki experience until this trip. In the past we stayed at the Halekulani which can't be beat but I thought this was a really fun experience, with a sense of elegance and a comfortable place to bring an 18 month old. The Hotel is very beautiful. It has a nice charm about it. We staying in the main building on the 2nd floor near the lobby. It was a smaller room but a great location plus it was interesting staying in such a historic landmark. There is a balcony on the 2nd floor which was a great place to bring a cup of coffee and watch the new arrivals. There was street noise but it settled down early. Overall, it was a lovely place and I would stay there again.

| Fantastic Hotel - First hotel in Hawaii with great history and charm. Greeting is very nice with Lei, cold towel, and a juice drink. Excellent afternoon tea for the ladies. Great banyon shade tree in courtyard overlooking waikiki beach. Not much beach but close to everything (larger beaches, shops, restaraunts).

| This was our 4th trip to Honolulu, having stayed previously at other 4-5 star beach hotels...this is elegant, calm and relaxing. The service is pure 5 star, from the greeting of leis, hot towels and tea, to the housekeepers bringing extra slippers and always calling us by name. Every employee was so happy! (The pillows and comforters with daily-washed duvets are from a famous USA company and dreamy!!!) Our tower partial ocean-view room was extra-large with big balcony (aka "escape"), 2 extremely comfortable double beds, big refrigerator; spotless & very new. The view was perfect, palm trees and crashing waves, we could watch the surfers and outriggers. We needed an extra robe for our daughter & one was delivered, with flowers, within 5 minutes! (She absolutely loves this hotel, despite the fact that there are no activities here for children - they are all at the 'sister' hotel.) This is a calm oasis in the midst of fun, but chaotic and crowded, Waikiki. There is a reason they have rocking chairs on the front and back verandas! We will always stay here.

| This hotel was fantastic! The location was prime, as this place was centrally located in Waikiki. There are many stores and restaurants within walking distance. The staff was accomodating and helpful. My only complaint was that the housekeeper came to my room at 7:45am on a Sunday morning (I forgot to post the "Do Not Disturb" sign), which I felt was a little too early, but I got over it quickly.

| I loved the hotel. I stayed at an ocean view room and it was beautiful. The service was great. The only thing I did not like was the thin walls that allowed the noise to filter in both ways. If you plan to make a lot of noise or have guests over I would advise you to think about it because very picky cutomers stay at the Moana, since it is the nicest of all in Honolulu.

| I expected more from such a prestigious and historic hotel. Staff were not warm and welcoming. Our room was a "city view" room but we could not open the shutters at all as we were staring right into a guest room in the tower block. The bathroom was small and only had a shower, no bath. The hotel is open to the public and gets very busy and crowded. The public bathrooms were often very unclean. The towels were very thin. The pool is small and very crowded with children. Take the hotel's historic tour. The entertainment in the evening is excellent.

| Plantation like entrance to a nice hotel. Pool is small and Waikiki is crowded, full of toursists, and not really my cup of tea. The Big Island and Kauai offer much more of the real Hawaii experience. But, If you have to be in Oahu, the Sheraton is a perfectly fine place to stay. The street side in the old section of the hotel can be quite noisy at night.

| Few hotels will match the ambiance of this hotel. However, understand that you are getting an old hotel, recently remodeled but not properly maintained or positioned. The reception/public area is a knock out. The banion tree porches complete with rocking chairs are a joy. The rooms are barely adequate. Also, expect loud music on the weekends--fun if you want to join in and a drag if you expect to get up early to go to experience Pearl Harbor or anything else of lasting significance. The Sheraton folks have failed to define their target market her. Is it a hip place? Sometimes, I want that. Is it an elegant place? Sometimes, i want that, too. Rarely, can the same place do both well. This place cannot.

| What a beautiful hotel! Full of history built in 1901, we stayed in the main hotel, the room was spacious, clean and worth every penny. In the front of the hotel was a long deck with white rocking chairs for the hotel guests to set and relax and people watch. The back of the hotel was a beautiful patio and bar area with a pool, you could set at individual tables and have cocktails or order food and you were right on the beach looking at the beautiful ocean. Great location, our whole family enjoyed the time spent there!

| I attended a wedding that was held at the Sheraton Moana and decided to stay there for the convenience and to be close to friends and family. I was really nervous about the selection because I'd read a tons of mixed reviews prior to booking. Everyone raved about the Tower Wing, but warned against the Diamond Head and Banyan sections of the hotel. I decided to book a partial ocean view in the Tower and was thoroughly impressed by the size, comfort and view from the room. It was a bit costly, but well worth the expense. The room was fairly large, had a nice sized bathroom, and the bed was great! Overall, everything looked new and well maintained. The location is great - right on the beach and walking distance to tons of restaurants and shopping. I was very impressed by the hotel staff. Everyone was extremely courteous and friendly. I had an awesome experience and would definitely recommend a stay at the Sheraton Moana.

| Because it was our first trip to Hawaii and we were celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary, I wanted everything to be perfect. I searched every hotel site on Oahu and read tons of customer reviews and comments and decided the Sheraton Moana Surfrider sounded perfect. We were not disappointed. It is a beautiful, old, quaint and charming building situated in the perfect spot on the beach. The restaurants were all very good; the nightly entertainment in the Banyan Court was excellent; the beach was the best by far compared to the other hotels we saw as we walked each morning -- it was always kept clean and the staff was never far away and always willing to help with anything. The rooms are small but our view from the balcony overlooking the beach and Diamondhead was unforgetable. We are already planning another trip back and will definitely stay at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider.

| The Moana was supposedly the first hotel built on Waikiki, in 1906. It has, of course, been renovated and is very nice. The service and rooms are outstanding, and the location is perfect- great beach, views of Diamond Head and right in the heart of the shopping and restaurant district. I think it is the best hotel on Waikiki in this price range.

| The location is fabulous if you crave the feel of escaping to old Hawaii but still want the access to hip Waikiki. The oversized old-style windows that open to ocean views with swaying palm trees or the huge banyan tree full of tropical birds and the multiple cozy nooks with rocking chairs overlooking the ocean or the city are a wonderful contrast to the bustling city. The rooms are very comfortable and have old Hawaiian quilt designs. Very plantation style. Be sure to ask for a room in the original building around the Banyan or the new tower. Take the time to peruse the hotel history room on the 2nd floor. The wing located on the Diamond Head side of the original building is in dire need of updating.

| Fantastic impression from the time we checked in. The hotel room was beautiful and though only partial ocean view we still had a great view to the beach. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in any hotel - just wonderful. My only comment would be that the hotel pool is very small and that there is not outdoor spa. Apart from these small things, a beautiful hotel in all her splendor. We especially enjoyed the rocking chairs at the hotel entrance.

The hotel was absolutely charming and the convenience of being right on the beach with towel service was great. | As a former resident of Hawaii I would recommend this hotel to any new (or returning) visitor to the island. It's the second oldest hotel in Hawaii and has such an old world charm to it. Please take the historic tour they offer and try the high tea lunch. Only draw back is the congestion parking and unloading in the front of the building. Other than that, it's worth every penny! Enjoy!

The hotel said it was "deluxe" but we faced the hotel's other rooms for 1/2 the veiw and saw the ocean from the other 1/2 from the 5th floor which wasn't very high. When I talked to the hotel about this they said they were completely booked and unable to move us and that they did consider it a "deluxe ocean view" but the room next to ours was not "deluxe but partial. Also the pool closed at 6:30 PM which was not very kid friendly. Beautiful and historic hotel but not what I expected.

Upon arrival, we were offered fresh juice while we were checking in. We booked on Expedia a "city view" room, but we were lucky enough to have an upgrade to a "partial ocean view" without even asking! We could hear the sound of the ocean it night, it was wonderful!! The room was pretty small, but clean and comfortable. The service was really outstanding: we checked out and as our plane was at 10.30pm, we spent all day at the beach and we were given a "hospitality room" where we could shower and change before going to the airport. The pool was small but we did not mind, as we spent most of the time at the beach. The food and drinks at the pool bar were really good!!We are really satisfied with our choice!

We didn't know you suppose to request a room with a king size bed so we got stock with 2 twin beds which was a disaster after planning and waiting for this vacation. The staff didn't help and we felt that you have to be a Japanese tourist to get better service, they didn't upgrade the room, and the partial ocean view is very partial and disappointing. It is a nice hotel but we will not stay there anymore, you can stay across the street save money and enjoy the same amenities, service and view.
