The hotel was very nice, the grounds were beautiful and the people were all very courteous and helpful. This being said, I was VERY disappointed in all the "extra" fees for items I felt should have been included in the resort experience. Refrigerators were extra, working out in the gym was extra, tennis fees were high and they charged a fee for a one hour late check-out (after we spent four nights with them). Also, parking was bad, especially on the night they were hosting two local events in their convention facility. The valet lot sits in the best parking area while guests are forced to walk.

Service was excellent. The restaurants were a bit pricey for what they were so we ate locally for all of our meals. The spa was a bit small with not many services available but the coffee wrap was great ! The best bargain was the 9 hole golf course that wound around the resort. The mountain views were spectacular with hummingbirds and road runners everywhere.

service was outstanding, from front desk to room service and housekeeping. Room was very clean, but did need some touchups (wallpaper peeling in bathroom). Facilities were super for families - fantastic pool, water slide and tennis courts. Didn't try the golf, but looked beautiful. The prices were a bit steep, room service, hotel restaurants and mini bar very expensive, but overall, nice place and very convenient to some great shopping and multiple restaurants about 4-5 miles away. Room very well equipped with iron, hairdryer, coffeemaker, robes.

The only concern with this hotel is the access- In the building we stayed ( Building One) it was not easy getting to the elevator and to the room. Parking was in the back of the building and there was a steep walkway to the elevators with no railways on one side and the other had stairs. It would be difficult for someone with even a slight walking disabilty.

This hotel was great! It was so beautiful. They catered to our every need. Our kids loved Quail camp. There was so much to do. The horse backriding was great fun! We also loved the restaurants on site. We will definitely be returning.

The hotel and surroundings are spectacular and the service is excellent; however, on my next visit to Tucson I will probably try another hotel because the food is not good at all and extremely expensive. We were there for R&R and did not want to go anywhere but around the pool, etc., and did not want to leave to find restaurants. However, the food is very expensive and, for the most part, not good at all. I don't mind paying high prices for meals when on vacation, but would expect the food to be better.

First night the room was hot and unable to cool down due to the air condtioner did not work. Called front desk and reported the problem Saturday morning. Said they would have someonr out to tepair. Out most of the day and returned around 5:00 PM and it was still not fixed. Called again and someone came out and repaired the A/C but then the heat did not work and sleep cold.

This hotel is a disappointment. We got in late and got to our room to find they put us in a room with one bed although we'd requested two and checked several days prior to make sure. (We are traveling with children.) The internet worked for the first five minutes, and then we spent over an hour on an 800 number (which didn't help) and no one in the building could figure out what the problem was. I'd requested late checkout and was told I could get it --which they rescinded when we checked in. There are no signs to help navigate the place, no ice on the floor, and the room smells like chemicals so badly we have to keep the door open. At a four star hotel you shouldn't have to pay for wifi, and it should actually work. It's far too much money for this quality of facility and lack of service. There's a weird shabby feel here which would be easier to swallow if it didn't cost so much. And this is just the first few hours!

My Husband and I have never been treated so rudely... the Valets acted as if we were the most inconsiderate people because we randomly arrived at the same time that a large party inside the hotel was leaving. They completely ignored the fact the we were trying to check into their hotel. The Clerk checking us in also appeared to not care how we were made to feel, saying that 3 large parties had just gotten out and Valet was "busy"... things only got worse when we found that the hotel room was very run down - with about 12 coats of paint attempting to cover the years of dirt and grime. For the money - I would just skip this one completely!!!

This hotel offers a great family getaway which allows both the parents and children to relax and have fun. From the pool to the unique kid menus, it has been well thought out as a complete destination to meet all a families' needs for a relaxing weekend. Our 2.5 and 4 year old loved the kiddie pool while mom and dad were able to relax with great service from the poolside bar and grill via our lounge chairs. The kiddie pool is fenced in, has a showering mushroom, water spouts, a sliding entrance, and is only 2 feet deep--a great experience for young kids and parents who want to be able to sit by the side and watch. We also enjoyed the winding waterslide and hot tubs. The resort has great mountain views and lots of other activities to offer that would make it enjoyable for golfers, tennis pros and anyone else looking to see the dessert in it's beauty. The El Conquistador seems to be an older resort that has maintained its charm and quietness. The service was a bit slow at times in the restaraunts, but everyone was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return again to the heated pools and beautiful winter sunshine for a quiet family retreat.

The hotel was wonderful. All ***** (5 star) service and accomodations. My wife thought this was the most comfortable mattress she had ever slept on.The only negative was that the toilet was loose at the floor connection. Although very minor it was something my wife was very aware of the whole time.
