| Hotel was ok. But the paperthin walls killed it!!! - As my neighbors were extremely noisy. I've stayed in at least 10 hotels in New Orleans and have never had such a bad experience. Definately not one of my favorites. If you want a good hotel in New Orleans stay at the Monteleone for old fashioned charm or the W on Chartres for a more contemporary hotel. They're both fabulous.

| The hotel is GORGEOUS!!! The lobby is UNBELIEVABLE!!! We paid the small upgrade for the two queen beds and had a HUGE room! It was BY FAR the biggest hotel room that I have EVER stayed in - it is WORTH the few extra bucks for the upgrade. My mom and I had a blast and will ALWAYS stay here!! We also had a view of the street. I am not sure what other reviewers were complaining about with the street view - go figure - it's New Orleans, not Miami with the the Ocean views. On the down side, we came back at 6:00 pm and the room was still being done, so we were not happy. Also, there was vacuuming upstairs in the wee hours of the morning. When we complained, it stopped briefly but later continued (the next night also. The room was ready in time the rest of the trip, though. The concierge was very kind and helpful, although we were not impressed with his restaurant suggestions. We found more of what we were looking for by just walking around, although he did get us last-minute reservations (when we could not) to a restaurant that we wanted to visit, which was good.Overall, the hotel was VERY clean (especially since there was a big banquet of some kind there (for OR nurses). ALso, some dignitary was staying there (security was tight one day). Everyone was VERY courteous and friendly and the service was EXCELLANT!! We will DEFINETELY be staying there again!!

| I'm surprised this was ranked as a 4 star. The hotel has a beautiful lobby, good quality room service and decent fitness center. Deluxe room was kind of dated, beds not that comfortable. Hallways dark and dreary. The hotel is clean and staff friendly, just not a 4 star facility.

| We had a big room with two king sized beds, exactly how we'd requested. The hotel is extremely well located, next to the French Quarter and the steet car to the Garden District. Breakfast was a very good deal for our children. The live jazz bar was classy and fun, just not too many people for a Saturday night. The only thing missing was a coffee maker on our room

| Hotel is obviously older. Inside is well kept and what I expected. Service was excellent, especially doormen. Bathrooms are small, but given the age of the hotel and the wiring, that was also expected.

| Rarely does a Fairmont cause disappointment, especially at the rates available on Expedia! Only downside was no coffeemaker in room.

| Tacky, gaudy Christmas decorations destorying the beauty of the lobby and drwings unwanted crowds of lookers. The dirty room service cart whcih was in the hall next to our room when we arrived was still there 24 hours later. The paint on the trim in our room was chipped and peeling, the walls were heavily scuffed. The pillows were the hardest, lumpiest I have ever used. There is no "fine dining" restaurant like other Fairmonts I have visited. One conceriege did not follow through on his promise to call for New Years dinner resevation. A second conceriege did pick up the ball and get us reservations after we complained. One morning we decided to pre-order coffee and tea for the morning by leaving the order form on the door. (well before the cutoff time) In the moring when we were wondering where the coffee and tea was, we opened the door only to find the order form had never been picked up. When we were dressed and on the way out for the day, we stopped by the front desk to let them know what happened. The only response we received was "Well, would you like a cup of coffee in our restaurant?" All I could do is laugh and explain that that wasn't quite the same.

| The lobby, restaurants and public areas are lovely. Our room, while sharing some of the pretty features of the hotel itself, was quite small and claustrophobic and overlooked a dark rooftop. The personal service and attention by the hotel staff, however, was outstanding and in a small measure helped to make up for the disappointment over our room.
