| The hotel and facilities were clean and functional, and were fine for a layover. However, the front desk person was extraordinarily rude and dismissive when I complained firmly but politely about the unpredictable airport shuttle service. He first told me "It's not my problem, I'm not the driver", then repeatedly told me to "...get out of his face..." when I asked who would be responsible if I missed my flight. Serious attitude problem, so much so that I would advise anyone to avoid this place if at all possible.

| This hotel is convenient because it is colocated with the airport Payless Car Rental which makes pickup and dropoff easy, and there is no charge for overnight parking of a Payless car. They have wireless internet (for an extra charge) but I had to move to another room, because the signal was too weak in the first room I was given.

| Surroundings of the hotel is awful and so is the lobby area and the staff that works there. There is absolutely no bell service as they are constantly short and these guys double up as drivers for airport pickups. Hence you do it yourself! If you are just stopping overnight...its okay.

| After reading several unflattering comments about this hotel, it seemed as though I'd be taking a risk by staying here. It was great. No complaints. My room was large and comfortable, with all the accoutrements I'd been denied at many European hotels. A shuttle (they run several times an hour) took me to and from the airport (just a 4 minute ride) whenever I needed to get a train into NYC. Maybe not quite as convenient as a Manhattan stay, but for the price, it was a tradeoff I was only too happy to make. If I had to fly out of Newark in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

| I chose this hotel because I had stayed here a couple of years ago. Thinking I would save staying here rather than staying in the city-NYC. However the costs of the rooms and NJ transit into the city had gone up...all I did was spent more time & money traveling to and from the city. Room was clean but cramped. Was awaken to a sound of a jack hammer early one morning which was actually a compressor some guy was using out by the pool...which wasn't open yet. Internet costs were too high to hook up.

| The bed was hard and had been slept in by someone else as evidenced by the hair left behind and the wrinkled sheets. The mattress was hard and the pillows were lumpy. The shuttle service took over 45 minutes to get to the airport to collect us, then the driver was surly and was driving unsafely. A nightmare. Avoid.

| I stayed 2 nights and the hotel is what I expected (not so great for a cheap price, compared to the high prices at Manhattan). Since I was going to NYC back and forth from the hotel (taking the NJ transit train), the shuttle bus took about 1 hour and a half to pick me up from the airport!!! If you're planning a trip to NYC, and if you are staying in a hotel close from the Newark airport, definitely I don't recommend this hotel.

| Pretty good hotel, though I only stayed one night. It was great to be so close to the airport-the noise didn't bother me. One tip: PARK YOUR CAR HERE! There is a shuttle that goes to the airport, and they only charge about $50 to park your car there for the week (I think up to 10 days) The airport economy lot charges $12 per day. It cost me $85 to park there for the week, and it's acutually further away from the airport than the Ramada. Lesson learned! I will stay here again.

| In a nut shell, my girlfriend and I wanted somewhere that was close enough to the city to get back and forth from while she was here on Vacation. We just didn't want to pay the insane City prices. Plus we wanted to be near Newark Airport. The Ramada Inn was awesome!! The room was clean, and quite comfortable. And getting to and from Manhattan only took us about 40 minutes tops. The only thing that upset me was the fact that they took our ashtray the night before we left. The Starlight Restaurant is okay for a night or two, but you're better off getting some chinese food about a mile or so down the road to save money and get a bit of a variety.

| For the price, I was not expecting 4-star service, but this place was not even 2-star. The service was abrupt and unhelpful. The lobby and hallways smelled of smoke. The room was falling apart and the bed was terribly uncomforable. There were stains on the upholstered furniture as well. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the free shuttle to the airport and that isn't enough to warrant staying there. It was raining when we were boarding the shuttle van and instead of pulling under the awning, they parked in the rain so everyone had to get wet. Just an example of their inconsiderate service. Don't stay there.

Payless Car Rental on hotel site open from 7am until 11pm (great rates if you make car reservation online on Payless site). Expedia offers a great price for this level of hotel near an aiport. Aircrew stay at this hotel. Comfortable, secure, average but priced well. Great for a base right-off a flight or for that last night before an early flight out of Newark.

| The employees were rude and not helpful at all including the dining room staff. I requested a non-smoking room and could smell smoke. It was extremely noisy with people yelling in the halls, and I could hear other people's wake-up calls (one at 4:00 a.m.!). The room was supposed to be mauve (one reason I chose it since it is my favorite color) but it was ugly brown. It was supposed to have several cable channels, it had about ten. Everytime I asked an employee a question, even one as simple as where do I catch the airport shuttle, I was given snappy, uninformed information. I would never go back there and I have told everyone I can to stay away from the Newark Ramada Inn at the airport.
