| Hotel entrance, bar, library and workout area were all quite comfortable, clean, and adequate. However, my room appeared worn and questionable. Mold in the bathroom, slow drain in the shower were low points. Someone had actually broken a hole in the tile next to the sink in order to allow the water handle enough room to turn. Nice public areas and great midtown location - but overpriced given room issues.

| I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The rooms was a bit smaller than expected but it was extremely comfortable. The room was clean and the service was great. The location of course was the best. It was just a few blocks away from all the shopping and just far enough away from all the madness of Times Square.

| This is a stylish, beautifully decorated small hotel in mid-town Manhattan. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful, the rooms small but perfectly proportioned, the atmosphere friendly and personal. If for some reason you like the brassy impersonality of large chain hotel, then you may feel ill at ease here. If you can cope with pretty small rooms, a restricted choice for breakfast (complimentary continental breakfast in the bar each morning) and some street noise in the standard rooms, then this is actually a fantastic hotel, both in its atmosphere which is luxurious and stylish and in value for money.

| I have being to NY many times, stayed in different hotels, some expensive and some not so, and finally I found my hotel. The Mansfield is so well located, and the attention from the doorman, to the recepctionists to the housekeeping staff, was Excellent. In my stay I did not have one complaint. The bed, the pillows, the sheets, the towels, are all from excellent quality and materials. The Italian bottle water in my night table every night, the toiletries, were great. My room was kind of small, but if you think that you area in NY and there are so many things to see and do, that you area only in the room to fall sleep and to wake up, the room does not feels as small. Can't wait to start making plans to go back to NY and stay at The Mansfield, that if I could I will go tomorrow.

| Nice hotel, great location, very respectable continental breakfast. But, best of all, a small library by the entrance with fireplace, coffee, chessboard, newspapers. A lovely place to spend a snowy afternoon.

| Mansfield Hotel is in the heart of Manhattan and very close to Times Square. The Hotel is old but obviously remodeled and nice. However the rooms are very small and a bit noisy from the street traffic and other sounds such as delivery and garbage trucks during the night.

| While the people were nice enough, my stay was less than satisfactory. My room was on the street, the noise was too much. The hotel has window units for AC, mine was very loud. My first night was a restless one, as every time the AC unit turned on or off, it would wake me. Not to mention the fact that since it's a window unit, the window is essentially open, and the street noise came right in. An idling truck woke me at 1:30am, when he started honking his horn I almost dropped the AC unit on him. The condition of the room left a bit to be desired. In some places it looked as if they'd just given up. The power cord from the AC unit was just stretched across the floor, no effort had been made to hide it or even make it nice and neat. The carpet edges were frayed. The sink was in a corner, right next to the bed. It was clean, though. The next time I went into the city, I stayed with relatives in CT.

| We stayed at the Mansfield recently and enjoyed it, for the most part anyway. It's a lovely little hotel, and the rooms are cozy. If you want a pretty room but aren't concerned with spaciousness, there's probably not a better place anywhere in the city for the price. The location is also great -- it's very close to theaters, restaurants, 5th Avenue shopping and lovely Bryant Park. And really, it is beautiful inside if you're into late 19th century architecture (and if you're not, you should be! *lol*). There were little odds and ends that went wrong during our stay that were annoying, but not enough to give a horrible review. A couple specifics: The plumbing is old, and we needed help from housekeeping. It took 2 phone calls and a half hour wait with no help in sight before we just got up and left. The phone call I put in to the hotel prior to booking regarding hypoallergenic bedding proved fruitless. (I was told that all we would have to do is ask when we arrived; when we arrived, I was told that they were sold out for the night.) And there were a couple other odds and ends, but all in all we loved our time in NYC, and we would stay at the Mansfield again gladly. And in fact, we just might do that in a few weeks.

| The Mansfield is in a wonderful location - close to theaters, shopping, museums, subway and Central Park. Size-wise rooms are typical for New York (small) but nicely decorated. However, I don't think the light of day ever made it to our room so it was always really dark (easy to sleep in!) and the lighting provided was not sufficient. The staff was hit and miss. Once the front desk was very friendly and helpful in arranging transportation to the airport. On the other hand, we had a mishap with our reservation and the front desk help was extremely unhelpful - even rude.

| The Mansfield Hotel was a pleasant surprise considering it was the cheapest hotel I was able to find in the area during the days I needed it for. Very classy bar, rooms and lobby. The room was very small (I was in a one-bed room with a queen-sized bed) but this was the only drawback. I don't think it's any smaller than a one-bedroom anywhere else in New York. Despite it's small size, the room was still decorated uniquely and provided adequate comfort for a weekend stay.

| Everyone was so friendly and helpful at The Mansfield. It was a complete joy to stay there. The location is great because you're so close to Times Square but far enough away to not have all of the craziness outside your door. The room was clean and well maintained as was the rest of the hotel. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone going to NYC.

| The hotel itself is a cozy petite nook nestled between 5th and 6th Avenues making it amazingly accessible. The staff alone was fantastic. They were excellent for restaurant and bar recommendations and extremely courteous. I felt completely comfortable and safe at this hotel. You can't beat the location. Whether you are looking for historical monuments, tours, shopping, or nightlife you are only a few blocks away. I would refer anyone here for a taste of New York.
