| The toilet stopped up twice in the three days we were there and the elevator didn't work for two days. We were on the third floor so it wasn't fun.

| We chose this hotel for its location and its history. The rooms are mostly in the new addition and not the classic front they show in pictures. The rooms are small and the bed is something out of a torture chamber. They uniformally seem to have the worst pillows I have ever used. I loved the hotel for the location and the staff was nice, but it needs some updated mattresses and pillows.

| I was afraid at the beginning, but it was a good choice. Near to everything, in front of a sub station and clean. The rooms are small, but nice, you can hear the noise from the hall, but nothing to worry about. I will come back for sure.

| the clarion suites is a very nice place to stay. it's right by the subway station, and easy to find from the Gardiner Expressway. the rooms are VERY clean, but the bed was pretty uncomfortable, and left us aching every morning. Also, the walls are very thin, so you can hear everyone walking down the hall or opening their doors. It was great for a couple, but I wouldn't bring a family because there's no mirror outside the the bathroom, so if one person's in the shower, no one else can get ready. I was very happy with the service and the price, but the hard bed and loud hallways were kind of annoying.

| Eventhough it's an old renovated house the old rooms are ok,but the new rooms are much better. If u can get a renovated room it's very nice. The complementary breakfast is not impressive:cereal, yogurt, muffins and coffee;it's better to wonder and find a place around.Very close to Bloor street and the subway, good location.

| It's in a very convenient location. It's about a mile walk from the bus terminal, and it's near the subway. This hotel is every college student's dream! I am definitely coming back to stay in this hotel.

| Its old fashioned structure, makes the hotel very appealing to me. Although old, it is very clean and secure. Bedrooms area and the rooms itself only accessable by electronic card. Breakfast was good but dont expect nothing fancy like sausages or eggs, lol. Room cleaning availability was great even if we needed it later in the day.The area is nice and restaurants and convenient stores are fairly near.Subway is right across the street, takes you downtown in few minutes. Not expensive,it's a great option to be close to downtown but not to close(mid-town). Very satisfied and recommendable.

| Across the street from a subway station was convenient. Staff at hotel were very friendly. Room not clean - hair in the bathroom, marks on the walls that would of only taken a quick wipe to remove.

| decent sized cheap rooms in a fairly prime location in downtown toronto. we were in the basement, where alot of the rooms are. this sounds bad but really isn't. the small windows don't let much light in though so it's too easy to sleep in.

| On arrival, we were disappointed by the 3pm check-in, though we did not have to wait for our room as we arrived at 2pm and our room was ready. Staff was most often helpful and friendly. The room was on the smallish side, but good enough for my girlfriend and I. Free Internet via wi-fi was a big plus for me. Free newspaper and morning breakfast was a good start to the day. Good location. Well within walking distance of attractions and restaurants. Subway access was also readily available across the street. I've been to many countries across the world and would be quite happy with a place like this in Europe or the Middle East. Unfortunately, places like this in Europe or the ME are much more expensive.

| I would highly recommend this hotel for someone who wants a small, fairly inexpensive room in an area that is close to downtown (easy walking distance to Bloor and Younge)and a beautiful residential area. The room had a good sized bathroom and plentiful storage, and has some charm that teh big box hotels lack.

| contrary to others who have stayed at this hotel, i found it charming. the people who worked there were very warm and helpful, offering places for us to eat on a budget and allowing me to leave my car after check-out in the parking so so we could walk around a bit more, for no extra charge. i loved the elevator, and, although too small to fit all of our luggage on, which we had no problem bringing to the room, because the building is not that large, we rode it often, because of its authentic looking appearance. the building itself was well-kept, and our room was adorable. the bathroom had a shower and tub combination, but the tub was large, and perfect for taking a bath. the room was cold, at first, but the heater in the a/c worked quite well for us. the only complaint about the whole experience was that the bed was a bit hard. other than that, i found we had a wonderful time. many things are in walking distance, and the parking at the hotel is cheap. i would definately stay there again.

| This hotel is great for travellers on a budget. It was definately a nice place to stay for such a low price. I had no problem with a dirty room or anything. The charm of the old building made it an interesting hotel. My sister and I especially liked the old elevator. Really a nice place.

| This hotel was incredibly disappointing! We we weren't looking for a hotel with tons of amenities and that's what we got, but a little attention to making people at least comfortable, please! We were there in October, the room was absolutely FREEZING! The only source of heat seemed to be the in-window air conditioner which switched to a heater, and it really didn't do a good job. The staff was about as cold as the bathroom in the room was, and didn't seem too open to suggesting places to eat, etc. Parking was directly off of the street, pedestrians cut through the lot regularly, which made us a little nervous. (And we're city people.)I understand the hotel is a very old building, but a little more attention to upkeep would have been really nice-- the charming old elevators with the gate doors could not accomodate our luggage and we had to lug everything up the stairs. The bathroom, carpet and walls, etc of the room were in really bad condition. Peeling paint, cold air coming through the windows, hot water giving out midway through a shower, it was just like our very first apartment years ago! Also there was a definite unpleasant smell in the halls. Like cover your nose and run for your room.I guess if you're looking for a place to stay in Toronto but are on a budget, this would be a good cheap option, but you definitely do get what you pay for!

| The clarion hotel has a lot of history, there's a sign at the front that talks about the building as being a historically preserved. I think Ernest Hemingway stayed there. However, being around 100 years old, the building is showing it's age. the elevator is one of those old school types that has a meshed door, and is extremely cramped. The rooms are quite small (although it has a huge walk-in closet for some reason). We were there for new years eve, and someone apparently had too much to drink and puked in the hall way. 2 days later whe we were checking out, the puke were still on the floor, so they have not cleaned that up yet.anyways, it's cheap, good location on the east side of Bloor, lot's of pubs and restaurants and about 2 miles from downtown. if you don't mind the discomfort and want to save some $$, this is a good place to stay.
