We just returned from our stay and were pleased with the location of the hotel, the view from the lobby to the beach, the service and the aloha spirit. We would recommend this hotel. However if you are looking for a large pool this isn't the place, but you have the beach!

We picked the Royal Hawaiian based on the positive reviews and we have to say they are right on. The hotel, while older than some of the others on Waikiki, had personality (all pink). We loved the entrance, lobby and such, very elegant clean, tropical and most of all, QUIET, compared to the other hotel on the main blvd. Service was excellent from the start with Lei's for me and my wife upon check in and a bottle of champange and banana nut bread in our room. Room we stayed in was in the older building but was clean, simple with a canopy bed and view of the rear courtyard and QUIET. I can't say enough how different the atmosphere is compared to the main street. It's only a block away from the mall but was so serene. Room service was excellent with fresh Kona coffee just down the hall from our room. The food is expensive however w/ breakfast @ $50.00 for buffet and above average. At night try the Mai Tai bar with its band or singer. Staff is friendly and and helpful. If you stay in the rear rooms or newer building facing the beach, you have a great view of Dimond Head and ocean. Will remember all the "Aloha" and "Mahalo" greetings. Highly recommended. Will definitly come back.

It was a good choice to stay at the Royal Hawaiian. This is one of the smaller hotels in the area and I think one of the oldest, we stayed in the orgianl part of the Hotel and it was very nice. The entire staff at the Royal Hawaiian was very nice and very helpful with any questions we might of had. This hotel is on the beach and close to many attractions, shops and restaurants, etc.

Just returned from staying at The Royal Hawaiian for the eighth year in a row. Great service and friendly people are the reason I return each year. The Royal Hawaiian is an oasis of serenity amidst the frenetic pace that is Waikiki. The Mai Tai Bar is a great place to spend the evening, before or after dinner.

Had a very delightful experience at the Royal Hawaiian in Hawaii. It was the prime spot on the beach at Waikiki and a great place for sunbathing and people watching. The accommodations were great and I can't wait to go back. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to have a first class vacation.

If you are the type that likes hotels that belong to the previous century or at least 1920's, Royal Hawaiian is a great place for you. This is our second stay in Royal Hawaiian, aka Pink Palace, and both times everything from rooms to service was outstanding. We like little touches like the banana loaf that is served on arrival and informal atmosphere of the Mai Tai bar. Great beach, wonderful hotel, central location, knowledgeable concierge and, did I mention great beach?
