Lighting in room was poor, especially in bath/sink area. We were charged for things from the honor bar/snack basket we did not consume. No chairs on balcony for sitting. Concierge walked away from our party when were were waiting in line to ask about restaurants. Parking lot security was good.

The folks are nice, the room is okay. Nice venilation, which I think is always important. Hotel is a bit rundown, and they are not too big on vacuuming hallways, etc. Restaurant is okay. Location is a bit far from plaza, street a bit busy, but they cart you all over town in their own taxis. And the hotel is across the street from a good bread baker.

We love this hotel as a place to unwind and relax. The lobby, lounge and restaurant are beautiful and the rooms are large enough to be comfortable even with loads of luggage. Native American music in the public areas along with authentic Native American art and decor add to the experience of being in Santa Fe. The service is excellent and the staff gracious.

Great value, good location, as friendly a staff as you'll find anywhere, dog friendly down to doggie biscuits when you check-in, comfortable beds, easy access to rooms, excellent food. We originally booked a 3 day stay and then planned 3 days in Taos. After one night in Taos we missed the Hotel Santa Fe so we called to see if we could get a room eventhough it was Christmas week. Not only did they accommodate us, they gave us the preferred rate we originally had when we booked our trip months prior. It's little things like that make a place special.

This is a gem! Located in the Guadalupe district with fabulous restaurants nearby. Only 7 blocks to the plaza, an easy walk or use the complimentary shuttle service. The rooms are very nicely furnished. And much to our surprise, our dinner in the dining room was the best meal of our visit! A fabulous and creative chef.

This was the worst service I have ever had. First we were in the Suite building, then we weren't. First they said they couldn't help with our celebrations for free, then they could, but only if it was one flower arangement. The continetnal breakfast cost $10. They don't update the activites on the tv channel. They wouldn't give my husband a complemntary razor to use. The woke us at 7 am because the "said" we scheduled a wake up call for that time we did not schedule one. All in all the only thing this hotel had going for it was the location, and there were other hotels that had that for less money

Staff searched my first room for Internet connection and could not find it. After switching to another room, spent three hours with tech support trying to get on line. Next day, housekeeping disconnected the Internet attachment. Rough if you are planning on working.

This was my second visit to Hotel Santa Fe, and I would definitely return again. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms are well-decored and very clean. I recommend eating at the on-site restaurant, Amaya. The food and service are excellent. The only problem with the hotel was the noise at the pool. So, if you are looking forward to a relaxing visit, I recommend requesting a room away from the pool.

we were given a handicap room which we didn't ask for, also it was on the bottom floor where we could hear various lobby/parking noise all night. I guess we should have confronted the manager about the room assignment but we don't usually want to be confrontational on our vacations. Eating at various restaurants in Santa Fe, we were routinely seated in the worst tables (next to doorways, in bar areas instead of dining areas, etc), so I guess its par for the course in Santa Fe. There was also trash out by the hot tub every time that I checked. Spend a few bucks more and go to Park City, UT. The skiing is much better and hotels/rest rooms/restaurants are MUCH cleaner than in Santa Fe. The Santa Fe ski facilities are about as nasty/filthy as you can get (horrible parking, bad food, nasty bathrooms, etc).

the best thing about this hotel is the cozy lobby with the crackling fireplace. if you go in the fall or winter you can curl up on the big couches and read, or have a glass of wine. this hotel has a beautiful exterior and interior. like a very luxurious lodge. we were there during christmas with the luminarias outside, pure santa fe. the people were very nice too. the only complaint i had was that the bed was very poor. sheets were like stiff canvas, and the bed was hard and had a plastic cover beneath the sheet. usually in such a nice hotel you expect a comfy sleep and this was anything but. other than that it was charming. i will defintely go back.

We've stayed in a lot of hotels in Santa Fe; this one has the warmest feel and friendliest service. The rooms (at least, the room we stayed in) could be a little larger and more elaborate by Santa Fe standards, but they're quite nice and comfortable. The staff couldn't have been more accomodating. The food is excellent. The only drawback is that it's not really a convenient walk to the Plaza -- but the hotel shuttle bus will take you anywhere, anytime, and pick you up. Definitely worth the stay.

We stayed here because my husband had a convention at the hotel. After getting to know the city better I realized we could have had a much better location. Yes, it was only a 15 minute walk to the Plaza but at night we were not comfortable making the walk so we ended up driving. The room was average, the restaurant average, nothing to make it stand out.

The Hotel Santa Fe was beautiful: very nice, intimate atmosphere. The rooms were spacious and divided into sitting and sleeping area. There was wonderful brewed coffee available each morning on every floor. The food was great, too. A little less convenient than staying on the Plaza, but worth it for the calm, tranquil atmosphere.
