The room was extremely clean and looked newly renovated. The only drawback was the traffic noise due to the close proximity to the freeway. This was only an overnight trip and it was a great value. Would stay there again.

This hotel is a great deal. The room was extremely clean and updated. The daily breakfast is generous, including omelets, four types of cereal (including kid cereal), danishes, bagels, three types of juice, coffee, toast, and two choices of milk. The breakfast worker was always refilling food and cleaning up after guests--she deserves a raise! The pool area and hot tub were also clean. Be forewarned: kids will be playing in the pool at all times. The only downfall of this hotel is the proximity to the highway. To solve constant highway noise, simply request a room that is on the inner courtyard or facing away from the highway. Otherwise, I was quite impressed with this hotel. Enjoy your stay!

We liked the location of our room on the bottom floor next to the pool. Pool closed at 10 PM and all was quiet after that. Everything in our room was clean and ready for our 2 night stay. However, the desk allowed a phone call, at midnight, to our room without verifying our name. Breakfast was included with choices of eggs, muffins, waffles, or cereal. We would stay there again.

Checked in for a 3 nite stay late, only room avail was on freeway, BIG BIG noise. Advised by desk, they could move us next day. New room by pool. Hotel is close to Legoland, early excited young kids all over breakfast room, teen kids for sporting event late outside. Pool action until 10 PM. The kids seemed happy but really loud and excited.

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times now. It has all of the amenities of high priced hotels but is priced more like those woithout the amenities. One of my biggest draws is the breakfast. I can start my day with a hardy breakfast that is much nicer, with more to choose from, than the continental breakfast that most are accustomed to. The pool area is a great place to end the day as well.

It looks they are in the process of updating the hotel, but I would still avoid this place. They try hard, but the hotel is old and the rooms are dark. The "kitchen" is a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. The living room is tiny. Very uncomfortable sofa. It's not the worst hotel, and I would stay there if there were no alternatives. Carlsbad probably has other newer suite hotels, so I would pay a few extra bucks for them if comfort is important to you.

The room was relatively small but good enough for two adult and a kid. Although the remote didn't work, tv was functioning normally. Everything worked and didn't expect to be in a five stars hotel. The free internet access in the lobby was a plus. I will stay there again.

The rooms were small, but affordable and comfortable. The beds were a bit too hard. The major downfall was the noise. There seemed to be no enforcement of the pool closure at 1100PM. There were people (kids) in the pool and spa area until 3-4 AM, with no one at the front desk to complain to.

This hotel is ideally located - half a block off the I5, walking distance to the Coaster (commuter train to San Diego), a block from the beach and 2 blocks from the grocery/liquor/fastfood. Just be sure to get a room away from I5 - the traffic never lets up. Rooms are clean and convenient and have refrigerators and microwaves, the continental breakfast has make your own waffles, the pool and spa are centrally located. This is a great family hotel for Carlsbad.

They're not kidding when they say "just off I-5". It is, and it's extremely noisy...all night long. When I got there they did not have the correct room information so gave me one of the only rooms left. The deadbolt didn't work, the room was right next to the highway. They never did get the deadbolt fixed and couldn't find me another room. There are so many other hotels to stay at in Carlsbad, but I had never been there. I know better now!
