Hotel is a bit older, not as clean as could be very pricey, bar and diner . Location was not the greatest of neighborhoods, the metrorail @ 5 city blocks away I would not walk at night. I would have been happier staying further out near the metrorail syste The rail is very nice and easy.

I would recommend this hotel to fellow travelers. It is two blocks from a subway station, and most of the tourist sites are just 2 subway stops away from there. Although the outside looks a little shabby, the rooms are well-maintained. The neighborhood isn't the best, but it's fine during the day, and we weren't ever out late because the museums close at 5.

We stayed at the Capitol Skyline Hotel on vacation in D.C. The hotel has been refurbished and is really quite nice, especially for the price. The hotel employees were the best! They did everything possible to accomodate us - from breakfast in the diner to good company in the lounge in the evening. They offered a free shuttle to many of the sites we wanted to visit. We were dropped off at a given point each morning. They also offer evening shuttle service for other parts of town. The only problem we had was that we did not feel really safe at night outside in the immediate vacinity of the hotel. However, we had no problems with anyone. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

A little dirty and no valet service, also food and service in the restaurant could be better. On the plus side it's close to everything including the Metro station and can't beat the price, OK if you don't expect to get a great service.

Found hotel location to be about 4 blocks from Metro. Hotel in area of constuction, heavy traffic and low income. May not be suitable for families, due to the uneven walkways and traffic to get to the Metro. View of the Capitol. We especially liked the shuttle, which comes every half hour and makes a loop to the north side of the Mall. (Chinatown). Window broken. Quiet, Clean. Should be fine for young couple able to walk to Metro and understanding of the tradeoffs. We are not young but would stay there again.

The hotel staff was very friendly, engaging and helpful. The hotel location is in a "relatively safe" area as someone informed us. Be careful walking from the Metro to the hotel at night. The blocks are long and the area is deserted except for panhandlers.

Prepaid for nonsmoking room on Expedia. Upon arrival hotel was overbooked and we were put in small smoking room (even though we paid for nonsmoking). When we brought this matter to the hotel's attention, we were advised that the hotel was overbooked and there was nothing further they could do. Consequently, we chose to leave the hotel and paid more for another room elsewhere. Don't stay here! Very disappointed.

The remodeled hotel is atrractive and clean, but a short hop to the Capitol crosses two cab zone lines and a freeway--add in extra charges for calling a cab (which the desk did not mention was not necessary) and daily travel costs were high. I also didn't care for the Market Inn Restaurant that the desk recommended. It looked OK but the food was overpriced and mediocre, especialy with an expensive cab ride to get there added in.

This hotel was exceptional. Close to the subway and easy to navigate around with a vehicle. We started our vacation at another location and after one night could not wait to check out. This hotel was a trip saver. The staff was very nice and when it was time to check out actually thanked us for staying with them. Would very much recommend this hotel and will stay there again if we make it back to the area.

I now know to stay away from 2 star hotels. This place was also south of the capitol, which is a not so safe place to stay. The room was also not so clean, the bathroom door had a big hole in it. Plumbing pipes were exposed in the ceiling. But, it was a very cheap place to stay and I got what I paid for.
