| Very nice, classy hotel. Grounds were maintained very well. All of the casual dining restaurants served the exact same food, which became boring very quickly. The prices for food and alcoholic beverages were very high. Overall, the staff are very friendly minus a couple of waitresses and one concierge.

| This is a nice hotel, very attractive, but HUGE. We were traveling with two small kids, and to get from our room to the main entrance to the distant self-park parking lot was a major production (approx. 20 minutes). Valet parking didn't help much in terms of time. Also, if you have kids or want/need to have a refrigerator at your disposal, you won't....and buying anything at the hotel is quite expensive ($2.75 for a small, individual size milk!).

| We loved staying here. If we didn't want to see the rest of the island we wouldn't have needed to leave the hotel. This place is huge! The kids loved the lagoon and pools! We loved seeing the sea turtles in the lagoon and interating with the dolphins at Dolphin Quest. A bit pricey but worth it. The hotel is decked out with the most amazing Buddha's and artifacts I'd ever seen. The tram rides and boat rides to and from the lobby were fun but the novelty wore off after the first couple of nights when we had to walk the whole way with our sleeping children (the transportation doesn't run all night). The rooms were nice and much larger than they appear on the internet. The only drawback was the bed. The double beds were very small and two people bearly fit on one. Over all we enjoyed staying here, and would do it again. It's a great place for families or weddings. But if you're looking for a centrally located hotel with an old hawaii'n style then look further. This hotel is lush, lavish and big.

| Luxury accomodations in paradise. Art, landscaping, creatures, ocean, pools, waterfalls, island food, leisure areas, and so much more. Good family fun. Recommend. So enjoyed the different ways of getting about the property. One has a choice of boats to ride, (tropical fish in the waterways), air conditioned trams, or pathways to walk. The statuary and landscaping was incredible. Rooms were spacious, luxurious, and decorated, with the best islanders can offer. Would have enjoyed not being in a rush when we were there, with more time to explore.

| The Hilton in Waikoloa is beautiful and well maintained. There are pools, activities, shops, and restaurants available so that you never need leave the hotel. A couple minor complaints I have is that I did not find the food worthy of the steep charge and the service of some of the food servers was not worthy of a big hotel. More importantly, the hotel is a lovely resort with many amenities. The rooms are large and comfortable with everything in working order. The grounds and pool area were clean and orderly. I would recommend this hotel but would suggest not visiting during the rainy season when the winds are quick brisk.

Grounds wonderfully landscaped, with interesting variety of animals and birds, both natural and hotel-bound. Loved trams and boats for intra-resort travel. Lovely, varied water sport areas. | This resort is paradise for families but not the best option for what I like to call Newlyweds and Nearly-Deads. This resort feels like something Walt Disney and Steve Wynn collaborated on to make the perfect resort in Hawaii. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and well cared for. Every step along the 65 acres site lets you know that you are in paradise and this resort is something special. The walking paths, art hallways, bridges, and boat/tram rides just highlighted our trip and were not a deterrent of a perfect vacation like some people wrote. The rooms were very spacious. We had two double beds for the family and had more than enough room to be comfortable and enjoy the beautiful balcony as well. We had a garden view in the Ocean Tower and could not have been happier. The garden area in front of the pool was beautiful and we could see part of the ocean. I saw the ocean view room and I do not think it was worth the upgrade. The lagoon pool and the Kona pool were perfect. The kids loved making sand castles at the lagoon and we rented a Kayak and paddle boats to explore the turtles, eels and jumping fish from this fresh ocean water wonder. The Kona pool is better than something you would see at the finest Vegas resort. It had waterfall, awesome slide, hot tubs in the caves, plenty of chairs, a rickety old bridge that crosses the pool, and a perfect sand pool attached for the little kids. I would definitely go back to this resort in the future.

| I really don't know where to begin. The service was nice; The restaurants were wonderful, Yes a little bit expensive. But come on,it's a resort! If you have a large family, might not want to eat there but for a couple or maybe a family of four or less, would be nice; Loved the "Dolphin Quest" excursion. WORTH EVERY PENNY; The natural lagoon was absolutely wonderful. Sea turtles, colorful fish, and even a baby eel. Best to do the snorkling in the morning though, the visibility gets worse as the tide comes in; Don't stress about the other reviews on this site that complain about the frequency of the Tram or the motor boats. Just walk. Believe me, you will need the walk after all the wonderful food you eat there, it's not that far unless you have a cane or crutches; Another nice thing about all the restaurants, gift shops and sundry stores, lagoon equipment rental, and the Malo lo lounge, is that you can just charge it to the room. Like if you forget your wallet. It is a great place for the whole family especially the kids. And for couples too.

| This hotel is perfect for kids, especially those who love swimming. I loved the hammocks and chairs throughout the campus(the hotel is that large). It was great to see Dolphins and turtles everyday. The water slides were great. The food was good, but I got tired of the same selections. Not a lot of cheap options. My bed was so comfortable but I still had the feeling my room was not clean. I understand they have remodelled some of the rooms, but not ours. I would return to this hotel.

| I recently stayed at Hilton Waikoloa village. It is a nice but expensive resort. The best thing about this hotel was the wonderful artwork lining the corridors. One can spend half a day admiring the artwork in the hotel. The lagoon, the boat rides and the train ride in the hotel are all wonderful. However during my stay I experienced a few problems. 1. The guest parking is not big enough so that on one day we were forced to go for valet parking. 2. The cleaning crew did a poor job, half the time forgetting to replace shampoo and conditioner or not leaving enough for all the guests. 3. Surprisingly they only left three coffee packets which were supposed to last us for our entire vacation of about six days. When I called them they told me that that was all we were allowed for the entire stay, and any extra coffee would cost $3 per pack. This even though one is paying an exorbitant price for daily stay in the hotel. 4. The swim with dolphins which the hotel advertises a lot does not mention the cost associated with it which again is quite prohibitive. 5. Overall the service in the hotel lacks personal touch.

| We stayed 9 days at the Hilton Waikoloa and had several problems. I stepped on a piece of broken glass in our room and found a dead bug near the couch. On one occasion we asked for our sheets to be changed and they were not. We waited 30 minutes at one of the restaurants to be served and finally had to see the manager to get service. We didn't check in until 8pm and weren't granted a late check out upon request with plenty of advance notice. The hotel restaurants were overly expensive so unless you want to spend $75 on grilled chicken for 2, seek dinner elsewhere. The resort is beautiful and well maintained but on 2 occasions part of the pools and one buffet restaurant were closed down for up to 8 hours to host private parties.

So much to do, it truly is like Disneyland. They maintain the property the same way. Constantly cleaning and making guests feel like royalty. If you want to get away and relax, have fun in the sun and water, want beautiful grounds, views and great food, this is the place. Shopping is close by via open air shuttle, golf too! Snorkle all day in the lagoon, swim in the many pools, enjoy the tram or travel the resort on the boats. Its just the best! Worth every penny and a great deal through Expedia.

| We stayed for 12 days at this resort and as far as comfort and amenities it was first rate. If you have kids they will have a great time. The lagoon lets them have a place to have fun especially the first day or so after you arrive this allowes them to get over the time change and jet lag. The pool at the south end of the complex is also great for kids with the water slide and cavern pool and also close to a place for an adult refreshment and food. The resort grounds are like walking through a botanical garden and just seems to cause you to relax. Additionally the proximity of the resort to several fine beaches is fantastic. I have to say that every person who works at the resort is curteous and very helpful. The rooms were clean and well cared for and the beds were very comfortable. I highly recommend staying at this resort especially if relaxation is in part of the main reason you are in Hawaii.

| A mega resort that's self contained. Has lagoon with man-made sandy beach, Dolphin Quest, water slides, plus on-site monorail and boat to take you to the several residence buildings. Great for families wanting to just relax and spend most of their time at the hotel. The lagoon, which is fed by the nearby bay, has pretty good snorkeling, with plenty of fish and some sea turtles. However, if you plan to leave the hotel often, the constant waiting for the train and the long walk to the self parking could make some people impatient.

We drove from kona to Hilo to take a helicopter ride and thanked our lucky stars that we were not staying there. The hotel was absolute paradise. | In mid September 2005 we spent 11 nights at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. We very much enjoyed our visit. Before arriving I read some of the reviews and was not sure I made a good choice on hotels. I have vowed to never review a hotel again before visiting. Some of the comments I read were about waiting for transportation, too many children or restaurant waits. Since we went in the off season, we did not encounter and waits or delays. All the hotel employees were exceptionally courteous and happy from the initial valet to checking out. About the only negative I can come up with would be the sometimes not so complete room cleaning. (Not restocking coffee, not emptying the wastebasket)We are planning a return in December.

The Dolphin Quest program is also a very unique experience for kids but is pricey. The place is enourmous and much to do onsite. However, having to take trams and/or boats to the various towers can become tiring. Also food prices onsite are high compared to offsite restaurants. Recommend buying food and beverages at local grocery stores for snacks and breakfast. Rooms have refridgerators which come in handy. Overall, great place and great island!!

| My husband and I just returned from staying at this resort on July 7, 2005. We had such a great time there- everything was really clean and the staff was helpful and very attentive. The grounds are beautiful and truly heavenly. A few minor problems- skip the trams and walk instead- they are very slow and take a while to arrive. Also, the Luau at the hotel was not worth the price ($74/person)- see one in Kona instead if you can ($63 and real fire eaters). Finally, the hotel food is great, but pricey (and I live in NYC)...but that's almost everywhere in Hawaii. We would definitely go back- it was our last get away before our first baby is born in October and was overall, well worth the price.

They offer kid friendly dining, day and evening camp for the kids 5 and up. They have various exotic birds around the property. They even offer the an experience to swim with the dolphins on the property. Unfortunately, the food and beverage service has taken a major decline since our last trip just a year ago. The quality of food at any of the restaurants is great, but the overall attitude and promptness of the majority of food and beverage service personnel was poor.

| What impressed us the most about this resort is how well thought out it was. (it made us think of Disney) While the resort was sold out for the first part of our stay, their nearly 63 acres didn't make it feel that way at all. There are plenty of restaurants and plenty of things to do. It almost made it hard for us to explore the rest of Hawaii! The salt-water lagoon (with yellow tangs, turtles, etc.) was a really unique centerpiece of the resort...and the DolphinQuest program made for a once in a lifetime opportunity for those who can afford it. If you'd rather save, you could still watch the dolphin experiences from the beach, walkways, decks and a restaurant/bar. While there were plenty of pools, they were mostly geared towards, and populated by children...which is obviously great for families but not too romantic if that's what you're looking for. (they do have an adults-only pool, but it's pretty small) Quick facts: The normal rooms are average-sized but comfortable and very clean. High-speed internet access was offered in the rooms and worked well. For the most-part, the staff was very friendly. When they were sold-out, parking got a little dicey. The Japanese restaurant's koi pond was huge with at least 300 fish. We had a very nice time at the resort. If you're bringing your family, you can't beat it...it's perfect. While the resort isn't necessarily geared for romance, it's still a great place to stay.
