Hotel was in a great location for us. The room was fine, but a bit sparce. It needed a table and chairs so you could eat in the room if you wanted too. The room had a magnificient view of a lagoon and lake. We seen several gators and turtles. The pool a little far away, but easy to get to. The hotel has a restaurant in it. Very good food, but no room service.

The rooms need to be painted. The walls and carpet were grungy/moldy looking. While the room was quiet, due to its location on the property, I can see how other reviews had noisy rooms. Any room that was parallel to the busy street/highway would be noisy. The street/highway is ten lanes of traffic (5 northbound and 5 southbound). Extremely busy. Thank goodness we didn't pay more than we did per night or I would have been upset. It should be a 1 or 2 star rating at best. More like a Motel than a nice Hotel. Continental breakfast was average.

I loved it. My room was overlooking the water.. My boyfriend and I watched alligators for hours. The fact that Sam Seltzer's Steakhouse was a part of the hotel made it even more high class. Yes it was on a busy road but that's ok. The sound of the street was drowned out once the door was closed and in the back of the facility, you are practically in another world. It was a great vacation.

I was looking for a slightly upscale hotel and thought the Best Western Palm Harbor (rated 3 stars) looked like a great place. Maybe my expectations were high, but it was just OK. Although the front desk service was pleasant if a bit slow, the AC had a musty smell, the bed was hard and squeaked, and the overall condition and cleanliness of the room was average. The photos of the hotel made it appear nicer than it was. I think a two or maybe two and a half star rating is more appropriate for this hotel. Also very tricky entering and exiting the hotel due to the traffic and one-way lanes.

At first I was not impressed with this hotel at all. It is on a busy highway and I did not like the way the room smelled. However, the next day when I went into the back of the hotel where the pool and waterway was it was a different world. It is a beautiful setting and the pool was a comfortable temperature. This really made the stay for me.

This hotel was nicely equipped with an appealing setting inluding a lagoon that connects to Tarpon Lake and a steak house on the premises. However, parking in the evening on the weekend was compromised, the complimentary breakfast is strictly continental (cereal, pastry, coffee and juice) and all three nights of my stay, the sheets were thin and had holes in them, even after complaining. Other poor maintainence items included a missing light bulb in one lamp, a folding closet door that was not in good operating condition at all, a broken auxilary outlet for phone connection, and an oily film in the basket of the coffee maker.

Tarpon Lake and the St. Petersburg pennisula is a great destination.Close to many parks and tourist sites. The hotel is centrally located. The restaurant at the hotel was excellent. One draw back Rt. 19 is a very busy road and you have to plan your trips carefully around the traffic.

This hotel is aging a bit but the large rooms, cleanliness, nice view of the Lake Tarpon inlet and courteous staff made our stay very nice. The biggest negative is the location on US 19, a noisy and somewhat frantic roadway. Major steak restaurant off the lobby was convenient.

Balcony overlooking the water and one of the best comfortable King sized beds I've ever slept in. This was a romantic quiet do nothing type escape and we did just that. The room was large and very spacious. Big plus on sight 'sammy saltzer steakhouse' just walk down stairs and enjoy great food no need to go anywhere else. Pool was heated and Jacuzzi nice to go in when it's cold outside. Hotel is on a crazy busy road #19 some road noise but not too bad. Hotel staff very friendly.

I would stay in this hotel agian at the drop of a hat. If you do stay here ask them to put you in a room not facing US19.

The hotel is conveniently located off of US19. The room was clean however the blow dryer was falling off wall, the TV almost fell completely off the TV stand, and the drain got stuck. View from room nice. Beds very comfortable. No easy checkout. Pool access from room was inconvenient, had to walk across the front of building to get to pool. Restaurant patrons filled up the hotel guest parking making it very difficult to find a parking space. No hotel lounge. No vending machines close to room; only ice maker. Hotel was satisfactory but have stayed in much nicer places.

This was a older property and the restaurant was not open, it was being remodeled. But overall it was a very nice hotel. Lobby was clean and nicely decorated. Pool area was great, water was clean and very warm. Could use my laptop in my room, with my router. Also not a bad drive to area beaches and Tarpon sponge docks. The only real improvement would be a better breakfast selection. Would stay here again.

Fairly nice view of the pool and canal, but the room was very musty smelling. The toilet seat and lid would not stay up because a new counter had been installed over the toilet and the seat and lid could not be raised the whole way (this was due to a construction error, or so I was told. No way should this hotel be given a 4+ rating.

The pictures on the web says it all. Perfect hotel near Honeymoon Island and all gulf beaches (just a short drive to Treasure Island-recommended). My fiance and I wanted a relaxing quick getaway and the hotel was totally clean, affordable and the hospitality was great. The continental breakfast consist of orange juice, strong coffee, danish, muffins and cereal-that's it. So don't expect a lavish buffet. There are restaurants nearby (IHOP and Denny's). We stayed during Memorial weekend and the hotel felt like it was totally ours. The fitness center is not much to brag about-only 3 machines-old out dated equipment-treadmill, universal machine and bike. The pool was small. But, if you are looking for a very clean, comfortable, near all, less crowded hotel this is it!! Definitely will go back again! FYI: The restaurant was still under construction.
