I stayed at the MarQueen with my husband and two children (ages 6 and 4) for 3 nights on a recent trip to Seattle as part of a vacation. We were very happy with the experience. The staff, particularly the valet, gave very useful and friendly advice about where to go, what to see etc. The room was extremely comfortable, and having a full kitchen was great with two young children. We also appreciated the coffee shop, which has great coffee. The location was perfect, with Seattle Centre just a short walk away. Also, there is a supermarket just round the corner, which is open 24 hours. In total, a very positive experience.

The MarQueen was such a great place to stay. Its location--so close to Seattle Center -- allowed us to participate in events that we might not have because of traffic and parking. The staff was friendly and helpful. The kitchenette was so convenient, especially since there was a market just a block away! We highly recommend it and will stay there again if we get the opportunity.

Odd place this. Was once an apartment building and it sort of feels like it. Your room is huge and the beds are fine, but I wouldn't call it a luxury hotel. It feels like your staying in someone's nice 1-bedroom apartment in NYC. Great resturants and bars right outside the door (10 ? around the corner was great). Try not to get a room in the front of the building - it was kind of loud. Ok place, funky, but you might get more luxury and service for the money.

The staff was very courteous and welcoming. Although we were told only 2 double beds were available, they were more like queen beds and we felt very comfortable. The room was very well appointed with a Phillips flat screen tv. The view was breathtaking and if you can be up for sunrise, it's well worth the lost sleep. There was construction going on and we were woken very early by the loud and incessant noise. When we called the duty manager, he was extremely apologetic. He had free passes to the fitness room sent up to us as well as breakfast in bed for two. It really did make up for the disturbance. Overall, a wonderful experience. We would return any chance we could.

We were really pleasantly surprised with the MarQueen. For the price, we thought this was a really lovely little hotel. We stayed on the third floor and had a great room with a separate sitting area and kitchen. The hotel has been nicely restored and we thought it had a lot of character. Overall we were very happy and would stay there again.

When I read reviews I try to read pass all the fluff and find the problems with the item being reviewed. This hotel had no problems. The MarQueen Hotel was a very enjoyable place to stay. I was actually surprised at the level of class this hotel possessed. My double-bed room with a full kitchen was very spacious and I thoroughly enjoyed the wood-finished floors and high ceilings. My hotel bathroom was one of the cleanest rooms Seattle, which for me says a lot. The MarQueen was also one to two blocks walking distance from a The Seattle Center as well as many restaurants and cafés. I found it convenient that a grocery store was within a block as well. If you are planning on investing your funds in an overnight trip to Seattle, staying at the MarQueen Hotel will give you a good return on your time and money.

The MarQueen's environment is so darling--old fashioned, roomy, and reasonably priced. However, the Peso's Bar across the street foiled our most recent stay at the hotel. Loud, drunk patrons who fight with their significant other outside the door from 11:30 pm to at least 2 a.m. I love this hotel. But, not on the weekends.

On her last visit to Seattle, I booked my mother into the MarQueen. We chose this hotel mostly because it's close to where I live, but I was extremely pleased to discover that it is a lovely hotel with large, tastefully decorated rooms. We appreciated the attention to detail, turned down beds with little chocolates, several useful Seattle guides on the coffee table and friendly staff. Next time my parents are in town, we will book them into the MarQueen again and I would certainly recommend this hotel to other travellers.

We stayed at the MarQueen for two nights. The building was constructed around 1919 as a dormatory for repair mechanics for the Ford Motor Company. It went through a few incarnations, including an apartment building, until it was completely refurbished as a boutique hotel. Touches of the old style remain. There are closets which open (but are now sealed) into the hallway and the room through which the residents could receive fresh linen. Our room had a kitchenette, but I would not be surprised if all rooms did. The basement used to be the repair garage but is now used for valet parking ($18 per night!) It is walking distance to the Seattle Center (Space Needle, EMP, Museums, Imax, etc.) and the neighborhood is funky and walkable. It's also a short drive to downtown or the waterfront.

the hotel, all in all, is quite impressive and very close to seattle center. the staff was very knowledgeable about the different modes of transporation one can use in seattle if you don't have a car on hand...it was beautiful, an old building of the ford family actually - the only thing i think was an issue was the hot water/cold water/steaming water tempertures that never seemed consistent...but i would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat. internet is also available free of charge, making planning the days a bit more spontaneous instead of rigidly planned...

We visit Queen Anne residents regularly so we were interested because of the proximity. The hotel is old but in well kept condition, htus quite charming OUr room was very spacious and included a sitting room and Kithcenette with full size fridge. The downs: The only parking is valet. They were cheerful and quick but I hate to see my car drive away. The other thing was the window coverings. We thought it seemed bright in the room, and there were completely wraped in cor what appeared to be darker coverings. We should have brought it up sooner but it turns out that they are the blackout curtains. I'n not sure why they were tied back and the desk clerk apologized. I'd go back again knowing what I know now.

Very charming hotel in a great Queen Anne location. Parking in the area can be a pain but the hotel offers valet parking. My husband and I managed to find street parking each night but it was tough at times. The rooms are truly little apartments, very quaint if you're into staying somewhere other than the bland cookie-cutter standards. Very clean room. It's an old place so don't expect everything to be sparkling. Great location to walk to the Seattle Center/Space Needle and all of the cool shops, restaurants and bars in the area. Late nights can be very noisy with the barhoppers hollering outside, though. That was really my biggest beef with this place.

Great location but a bit noisy (bar across the street.) Also, the room's heating unit was very noisy and disturbing at times. Old plumbing so expect inconsistent hot/cold water in the shower! I would stay here again and enjoyed the bed and breakfast feel of it- especially the option of having the kitchen and eating nook. Great high seed internet service as well.

This hotel is old, but charming. Rooms are huge, with a sitting area and separate kitchen. I must say that the rooms were clean and nicely decorated, however I prefer I more modern hotel. For that reason only, I wouldn't stay here again. There is no elevator, so unless you are traveling light, you might want to request a room on the firsat floor. This hotel would be good for extended stays.

Loved everything about this hotel - great service, great location, great rooms. Each room is a converted apartment room, so each has its own separate kitchen area with a full-size refrigerator and kitchen sink. Our room did not have oven/stove, but did have a microwave oven. Safeway is a block away. The rooms are elegantly appointed, have vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors. There is free internet access (you can borrow an ethernet cable from the front desk). The only complaint I had was our room faced Queen Anne Ave., directly across the street from the Mexican restaurant that doubles as a nightclub. On Saturday night the nightclub was hopping, and around 2 AM when the place closed, all the drunk college age kids filed out onto the sidewalk, yelling and acting like idiots. Why do drunks have to yell at the top of their lungs? Anyway that was annoying but they had found their ways home by about 3 AM. I would recommend getting a room well away from the restaurant, particularly Thurs-Sat nights (unless you plan on staying out very late!)

This is a really "cute" hotel... Very old-fashioned since it appears to have been converted from an apartment building to a hotel. The atmosphere is pleasant enough and it was nice and clean. The only drawback I could see is that the rooms we were given faced another building a scant few feet away and so we had a view of a wall mural and lots of commercial-grade pipes. Made the experience a bit claustrophobic. I imagine that rooms across the hall that face the front of the building are much more enjoyable. All the rooms have a full kitchen and there are plenty of great bakeries and grocery stores around the block so it made it very convenient to eat in.

The Marqueen is a very comfortable old hotel, for those who prefer an historic hotel over the typical business/convention facility. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. I stayed for five days during a conference and really got to know the hotel and the neighborhood. My room was comfortable, with a kitchen, large bathroom, walk-in closet, sitting area and large room. It had that well-worn look, with old oak floors and oriental rugs. It is about a half mile walk to the monorail to downtown and just a couple blocks from Key Arena and Seattle Center. There are several good restaurants in the area. I would definitely stay here again next visit to Seattle.

The hotel staff was excellent and informative. The hotel was a lot darker inside (dim) than the pictures would have you believe. The age of the hotel gave it all of its charm, but I have to say it was a little spooky because of its age. The room was huge, obviously an apartment not a hotel room. The floors creaked a lot on the 3rd floor, but again - it just added to the "feel".
