| We requested a non smoking room, but there were none available when we checked on on Thursday night, at about 8:00 pm. We were put in a smoking room with a balcony for the first night. The room was awful. There were stains on the carpet, part of the shower curtain was falling down, there were pieces out of the tub, stains on the ceiling in the bathroom, a rusty ironing board, and the air conditioner barely worked. My guess is that the later you check in, the crappier the room. We switched to a non-smoking room in a different tower the very next morning, and this room was much better. It was cleaner than the first, there were pictures on the walls, the bathroom was clean, and the air conditioner worked well. The elevators were unbearable at 12:00 pm (check-out time), with waits of up to 20 minutes. I learned a little trick, go up, to go down, otherwise the elevators fill up quickly. I personally will not stay there again, but if you get a good rate, it might be worth it to some people. It all depends on what you want and what you expect for your dollars. I think there are motels that would be cheaper and cleaner. Also, beware, there is smoking everywhere.

| This is a great hotel located on the Strip. It's a little far from the other fancy hotels, but you buy an all-day pass for the bus or ride the monorail. Definitely will go back for its price and it's definitely worth it, it's clean, has great staff-service, the room it's just like any other hotel rooms just what u need in vegas... a bed to sleep a few hours and a shower.

| The Sahara has gone out of its way to improve the look of the outside and the lobby but thats about it. The elevators were run down and slow. The beds were vary uncomforable (my neck still hurts from the pillows). The decor of the room was updated and nice but there were stains on the headboard and floors. The AC didn't work half the time.

| I booked a non-smoking room with king bed. I got a smoking room with double bed. The hotel staff didn't wasn't too receptive when I asked them to changed rooms. My hotel room looked very old. It was also dirty, especially the bathroom. Everything smelled like smoke. The walls are thin and you can hear all the noise in the adjoining room. The tv didn't work and when I went to take a shower, there was not hot water. I was so uncomfortable the whole stay. I will never stay here again. I would recommend another hotel. This place isn't worth the money.

| This was our first trip to Vegas so we wanted to go the cheap way first..we did not know what to expect. Well cheap is what we got. We did not get the room we wanted, instead we got a smoking room which was not pleasant. The temperature of your room depended on what the hotel wanted it so the room never got cool. I would say probably around 75-80 all the time. The elevators in the hotel take at least 10 minutes to get one. The buffet was ok, not a good variety of food--same thing every day. When we were there there was a small electrical fire which shut down the power for almost 3 hours and I was seperated from my husband for about 2 1/2 hours. There were several other customers that were stranded for the 2 or so hours.. They tred to compensate by giving free tickets to the buffet or drinks at the bar. But they did not tell the reason why everyone was evacuated from their rooms. So we learned that if you want to have a comfortable visit to Vegas pay a little extra for the hotel.

| The hotel fails to tell you up front of the hidden fees that you will receive on the bill that you think you have paid to stay at their hotel. An Energy surcharge and a local call surcharge. The local call surcharge is for having a phone in the room, not for using the phone. Energy surcharge? I guess, to turn on the lights in your room. With all the places to stay in Las Vegas, find another and ask about the hidden fees. As for the overall condition of the room, substandard

| For the bucks this hotel is very good, had to wait an 30 min. to check in, but there are other methods to do this. Good restaurants like the king of lords, buffet is average but great value, ate a lot of fruits and shrimps. Monorail is very convenient to go to the rest of the strip. Had some trouble with access to the internet but in 15 min. techniciens had me up and running, internet is somewhat expensive. Clean room and bathroom, housekeeping did their job as it supposed to be. I will come back instead of paying big bucks for the other hotels on the strip!!

| If you want a cheap place to stay on the North Strip, this is it. Old beds/furnishings, tiny televisions. Service is hit an miss, some fine employees (Bill at the Thirsty Camel), most were indifferent and some were out and out rude. The Caravan Cafe is decent but skip the Buffet anytime except breakfast and skip the Nascar Cafe altogether, unless you're into that kind of thing. Cocktail service at the slots was surprisingly frequent even if the drinks are weak. Gaming is okay with a good staff at the craps tables, most of the blackjack dealers were courteous.

| We arrived at the Sahara at midnight and waited in line for about 30 minutes to check in. We then found out that the non-smoking room we had booked six months ago was not available, and the king size bed we had booked six months ago was also not available!!! I will say that the room was surprisingly clean and did not smell as smokey as I expected. The hotel does have some positives: The breakfast buffet is excellent and the Sahara has the best black jack on the Strip. Long story short-you get what you pay for. The Sahara is very reasonably priced and will leave you lots of extra money for gambling and entertainment. Just don't expect a lot of extra frills.

| Check in and check out was a breeze thanks to Expedia - not one hassle. An older hotel but my room was very clean and comfortable and much than I expected for what I paid. The bed was super soft so some people may not like that but I loved it! Casino was not crowded, and dealers weren't too busy to help a newbie learn the ropes. Had some nice hits on a few slots. Buffet was wonderful for breakfast and so-so for lunch. Monorail - though expensive - was easy to get to. This was also the only one of several hotels I stayed that had their pool open - it wasn't even cold.

| ...it does! Upon arriving, my room was in terrible disorder - it was immediately evident that cleaning staff had not visited the room since the last travelers checked out. The beds and bathroom was a disaster. Furthermore, there were large tears in the carpet and several large burns on the middle of the floor. The next thing I noticed was that this was NOT the room I had reserved. As a single traveler, I was given a smoker's room with 2 double beds instead of the non-smoker's room with a king-sized bed. I called guest services, and got the run-around several times. After a couple of hours, I got someone to let me speak with the hotel manager. Her explanation? Guest "preferences" at registration are NOT guaranteed. In fact, the hotel gives away rooms on a first-come, first-served basis!!!!!!!!!! Since my flight arrived late in the day, all non-smoking rooms had been given away. So I was stuck in this awful room for the night, choking on the remnant smoke of the previous travelers. I started brushing my teeth in preparation for bed, only to notice that the sink was not draining. Hair and other putrid gunk began coming up out of the sink drain, nearly causing me to vomit from the smell and sight. The worst part of this was the extreme rudeness of the staff throughout my troubles. They were completely unapologetic throughout my stay, despite my attempts at being polite and civilized. It took rudeness on my part to get any results from the staff.

| after reading bad reviews and expecting a complete mess of a hotel, i was pleasantly surprised. We were starving when we arrived so we ate at the buffet, which we thought was excellent, We ate there again later in the week when we weren't starving and were not impressed. Overall, it is a decent hotel for a traveler on a budget. The casino is smokey but what casino isn't? It was nice at night because the casino didn't seem to be as crowded as others. THe mexican restaurant was good. Room service was ok. We ordered 3 times, only had a problem once and that was only that it took almost 2 hours for it to arrive. Overall i would recommend the Sahara, if you;re looking to save a few bucks so that you can do more, if you are looking for luxury, go elsewhere:)

| I was quite worried about what to expect from the Sahara Hotel, after reading some of the online reviews - Well I can quite honestly say that this was unnecessary, from Check in, to the day we checked out, everything was smooth sailing. For the price you pay, you could get a lot worse in Vegas. The reception staff were friendly and on both occaisons assisted with early check in. The rooms were clean and well maintained. We had dinner at the buffet, and is the best value for money on the strip. All in all a wonderful experience, and I will definitely stay there again. I highly recommend this hotel.

| After a long check in, I found myself in a room that looked like they had swept the floor and made the bed but left the rest to take care of itself. The location and the price were good, but you are better off spending a little more money for better service and a clean room. Also... could not connect to the internet for the first few nights and front desk did not answer the phone. I eventually had to go down to the front desk to resolve the problems. The casino itself used to have cheap blackjack tables, but it is a hit or miss depending on the day.

| Horrible. Requested a no-smoking room, they put us in a smoking room because requests aren't guaranteed. Bad plumbing wit super slow drain... so bady my shower ultimately became a bath. Holes in the shower wall, burns on the carpet & no iron in the room. Had to wait a 1/2 hour on delivery from housekeeping. Just a mess. They did switch our rooms to a nonsmoking room on the 2nd day, but that didn't help the constant headache that my sister had from the staying in a smoking room the first day. When things couldn't get any worse they deprogrammed our keys over an hour before checkout so we were locked out of our room for 45 minutes. Waited on line for 20 minutes of that time to have my key card reprogrammed but no such luck. The reprogrammed key did not work either. Saw 2 other guests in my hallway who also had their cards deprogrammed EARLY. Waited another 20 for someone to come up and let us in, because I REFUSED to wait on another line for their error. In short, pay the extra money and go to an updated and more efficient hotel.

| Having read previous reviews, we were also sceptical, but pleasantly surprised. A member of staff told us that there was an excellent bus service running up and down the strip, a bus stop right outside the Sahara, half the price of the monorail and much less walking, plus many more stops. Don't know why the Hotel doesn't put it's phone and energy charges in their advertised price, which would stop all the moaning and groaning. Only complaint, no in room coffee making facility. No problem, take your own kettle with you. The Tangier Tower was excellent, view from 9th. floor upwards was great at night. Day view, much building activity to watch, but the mountains make a great background. Buffet was tremendous and slightly different each night. More than value for money, especially if you go in hungry. We had two stays, during October and November, both very enjoyable.

Maid Service was awful, always had to call for cups and new liners for the ice buckets. One other thing is the maid did not make the beds in one of our rooms. I agree with some of these people, regarding surcharges. The rooms were very hot,had to open our windows on the 14th floor to even get some air in our rooms. I was shocked that you could open these windows, let alone most of them did not have railings. I will not stay here again. We will definitley go down town to stay. A lot closer to everything.

| First of all, I recommend not using the kiosks located at the front desk for check in. If you requested a certain type of room (ex: non-smoking, king size bed, etc...) the kiosk just tells you, "your room is being cleaned, come back later to get your key." Because we were given this message we did wait till several hours later, came back and it still gave us the same message. We then decided to talk to someone at the desk and they told us the reason the kiosk said that was because there were no non-smoking rooms available. Unfortunately, the machine is not preogrammed to tell you that though. As for the rooms, the room was a descent size and pretty comfortable. Some of the towers do need renovations. We were able to see several because we had a group of people staying there. The Sahara was nice in that it wasn't too big so it wasn't hard to meet up with our group. Most of the staff was friendly and we had good times playing the video blackjack in the casino. Waitresses were pretty good about promptly bringing drinks. The monorail was also convenient to go down the strip. Overall this is a descent cost-effective hotel.

| We were a little worried after reading all of the bad reviews, but I have to say we thought this was a fine hotel for the price. We had great service when checking in, and the buffet/cafe staff was very pleasant. Food was good, and not too expensive. The roller coaster was awesome! Worth every penny. The rooms are clean and much larger than we expected. We did discover it is impossible to get any help if you need room maintenance, but we didn't have a huge problem so we just worked it out ourselves. My only complaint was the casino. I love to drink while I'm gambling, and the waitresses were just awful. God forbid you actually said yes when asked if you wanted a drink - our waitress actually sighed, roller her eyes, and then took 20 minutes to get back to us. The drink was so strong I couldn't even drink it. But you know, we just jumped on the monorail and took our money to a casino with better service. :) Overall, I would recommend this to other travelers. Just remember it is way far north on the strip - you'll have to use the monorail to get to the other hotels, unless you are in the mood for some serious walking.

| There were 3 of us staying in 1 room. The 2 beds were plenty big enuff. Although they were a litte too hard for my tastes. The hotel and our room was clean. Would have liked to have more control over the airconditioning unit (it was either too warm or too cold) but overall it sufficed. The staff at the Nascar Cafe was friendly and the food was good. The coffee grind welcomed us each morning of our stay - they were as good as Starbucks. The pool area was very nice. Plenty of chairs, large pool so did not seem crowded, the no kids under 12 spa rule was enforced (thank goodness). The pool towels were too small & thin (had to use several). The staff at the sports betting window was patient in answering my questions. Check in & out can be done on kiosks located in the lobby allowing us to do both quickly & easily. The location of the Monorail system was very good allowing ease to travel from one end of the strip to the other. (Buy the 10 trips for $20 and share). Would recommend it to all travelers, even more so to the Nascar crowd.
