| This hotel lost our 2 bedroom reservation that we put in through Expedia. We had requested non-smoking queen size bedrooms. We finally got sent to two rooms. One had a queen size bed on a very smokey floor and the other was two full size in a hall that had just been painted. Since I am pregnant neither the smoking room nor the paint room was going to work. After an hour and many tears, we were able to get a non-smoking 2 full size beds for the 2nd bedroom. The hotel was nice, but for all of our trouble it was just not worth it. Oh, and there is not a fridge in the room and no late-night food locations available. Another huge inconvenience... especially when pregnant.

| I arrived a day earlier than I planned and asked if there was an open room. At first there was some question if the expedia rate would apply and that it might be significantly more. The night clerk said he would let the office figure it out. I was put in a room on the lowest floor which was too low to see the gulf because of a sea wall. The room also had some minor cosmetic problems. I requested a different room the next morning. They not only gave me a better room but when I got the bill It had the expedia rate for the whole stay! The staff was great. The view of the gulf is excellent as are the sunrises and sunsets.

| The Tampa area is filled with national chains whose reliable mediocrity doesn't merit spending your vacation in their properties. SHRS is in a quiet, residential neighborhood along fitness trails and right on Tampa Bay. For the same price as one of the chain hotels, you get multiple pools with mineral water, hot tubs, shiny weight rooms, fitness classes, yoga classes, ample cardio equipment, tennis courts, driving range, poolside bar and grill and free bottled water all around their property. If you need to ruin your stay with work, they have meeting rooms as well. In addition, the hotel restaurant and room service menu has lots of healthy and moderately priced items so that if you choose to not leave the premises, you won't be 'stuck' with greasy hotel food. This is a destination spa that is perfectly suited for business or leisure travelers.

| Location great, first impression good at lobby, restaurant facilities, overall ambiance. Staff polite, well footed. The rooms, however, were a fright! Torn bedskirt, torn upholstery on chair, unpainted bumper to stop the door from hitting the wall outside the door. Bathroom in serious need of an overhaul; drain rusted, toilet seat bumpers broken, mold in pre-fab tub crevices. Aveda soaps and shampoo, or fancy shell-folded washcloths cannot mask serious problems. Used the facilties very minimally. What a disappointment! An investor would to well to purchase this property, start from the beginning, and re-create the resort it used to be!

| This hotel was undergoing rehab, and I think once it's finished, it will be really nice. The first room we stayed in was not impressive in the least. We did asked to be moved to a room that was recently renovated. The bathroom in this room was beautiful and sectioned off into two rooms, whereas the first room had a very dated bathroom and only one large area. I think more landscaping is necessary in the back area of the hotel where it faces the bay. The pool area was beautiful and the spa area was adequate. Depending on what people are looking for in a hotel stay, the location is very quiet. Aside from the spa and the pool, there is nothing at the hotel. There really should be a bar that is open later, and possibly a second restaurant. There is no where decent to eat near the hotel. One of the concierge's really needed to brush up on his recommendations and learn the area MUCH better than what he did. Otherwise, everyone was friendly and accommodating.

Ice machine is on first floor of the towers, had to depend on the maid, She was great. Spa services were great as was the pool and facilities.

IF you want an escape from everyday life and like being 20 minutes from everything(i.e. the beach, downtown, restaurants, etc), this is the place for you. | The hotel service is very good. The hotel was recently purchased by an investment group with plans to modernize the SPA facilities and add 5-star amenttites. The worst portion of my stay was the restraunt service. my waiter quit, he was overwhelmed, at dinner. Breakfast was good each day, service slow but friendly. the restraunt seemed disorganized and understaffed. No entertainment, very quiet place to stay, you can hear a pin drop. a car is needed, the beach at clearwater is super. We are going back in August. The massage and salon people are very good and creative. I had a great time.

We made use of the spinning classes, gym facilities, lap pool, sauna, jacuzzi, etc which are all available to guests to use. The location is very quiet yet close to beaches (30 min), restaurants (10 min), and Busch Gardens (45 min). We will go back and stay here again.

| We stayed on the 'Terrace' ground floor just down the hall from the spa. The carpeting was really dirty; the floor in the bathroom looked like it was dirty even though it had been washed. Things were old and worn out. Rusty cover over toilet paper- just get rid of it- there is no need for a cover. Cockroaches in the room were disgusting. There was a musty odor. Twice when we called maintenance with problems- we ended up resolving them ourselves after they did not show for an hour. Staff at the spa, store and front desk were great. Loved the services at the spa. We splurged to be able to stay here for our once every 2 year vacation and I was very disappointed. It was a once in a lifetime event. I'll never stay here again, even though we have friends nearby. And I would not recommend staying there. Stay at another hotel and use the spa services.

| This hotel is old. Some of the rooms had undergone remodeling, however, I was not in one of them. There was a wonderful, comfortable lounge chair in the room with a footstool but it had a cigarette hole burned in the cushion (in a non-smoking room, I might add. The bathroom was old and the tile around the bath tub in need of repair. The room was very roomy, the bed quite comfortable and the amenities made up for its lack of charm. The spa was nice, the pool area was great and the spring water on each floor in a cooler and daily newspaper at your door were a nice addition.

| I was very disappointed in this three star hotel - in my opinion they need to take a steam cleaner to the whole place -- the carpet was dirty with holes all over --the balcony was filthy - the commode leaked all night -- the whole place needs to be remodeled with newer furniture - the table and chairs in the rooms are 1930s vintage and falling apart. The room service was non-existent (they never answered the phone or returned messages) the dinners in the restaurant were over priced and over cooked -(salmon was dried out and tough) definately not worth the money unless the new management puts some dollars into upgrading and cleaning it.

| My husband and I just returned from the Safety Harbor Resort. We stayed in the deluxe room in the Towers section of the hotel. The room was large and had a nice view. The grounds, pool, and lobby area were lovely. The staff was pleasant. As others have pointed out, though, the carpeting was in need of a good cleaning. And if you stay in the Towers section of the hotel, be prepared to do a lot of walking. Safety Harbor is a quaint, well located, and historic village. We went the weekend of the Seafood Festival, which was a lot of fun. There were a few nice local eating establishments. If you are in town on the weekend, you should call ahead to make reservations as most restaurants were small. A recently opened wine bar and tavern provided the only night life in town. If you are looking for a peaceful vacation, we would definitely recommend the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. We returned from our vacation well rested. If you are looking for a good time, however, you should probably look for a hotel in a more happening section of Tampa/Clearwater.

Stay in the "Palms" building and you will feel like a queen (or king)..rooms are large, well decorated andf maintained, bathrooms are beautiful, dressing area and vanity are a luxury and the terraces are sweet, small but sweet, views Tampa Bay are beautiful. Staff is friendly and eager to please..restaurant is a pleasant surprise..great menu, and food. I would definately go back.
