The location was excellent: right by the lake & the Congress Ave bridge with its famous bats. The room was unspectacular with enough room, but the temperature was difficult to control. The live music & drinks in the lobby were nice, and the pool is large and clean.

We spent a Spring weekend in the hotel and were quite happy with it. It's located right on Town Lake and the running/hiking path runs just behind the hotel. There's a Starbucks and TGI Fridays right in the lobby and ample parking in the attached garage. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'd stay there again.

I think the location and the bed were the two best things about the hotel. We had a sleep number king size bed which was outstanding. The location was great. We wanted to go down to 6th street, and we didn't even have to drive.

The front desk clerk assured us we were getting the nonsmoking suite specified in the reservation; we got a smoking suite on a smoking floor. Either the clerk did not know which floors were smoking, or he did not tell us the truth. The suite was small with a windowless sitting room. After a lengthy phone conversation, we were given a much larger suite on a non-smoking floor with a window in the sitting room. Upon arrival we discovered an inch-thick layer of dust on the refrigerator, a half-empty glass of stale orange juice on the bathroom counter, residual stubble behind the faucet, and an attempt at a turndown service that wouldn't do credit to a five year old. The front desk apologized and explained that the guest (a VIP) staying there before us checked out unexpectedly and the room wasn't cleaned de-novo. They stopped short of sending us housekeeping. The clock chimed 1 am; I cleaned up and went to bed. In the morning I spoke to the manager and tipped the maid. In the afternoon the room was in a better state, but never perfectly clean during my 5 day stay. However, the bed was comfortable, the down comforter and the refrigerator a nice touch, and TGI Friday and Starbucks in the lobby. There was a $10 charge for high speed internet access, but no charge for a nice outdoor pool. Perfectly adequate if you don't mind spot cleaning.

Booked a room for 4 adults to arrive in a room with one bed. The manager attempted to put my party in a room with one bed and a sleeper sofa. Finally after contacting Expedia the hotel was able to find the room we reserved but valuable vacation time was wasted. The cleaning crew was inadequate showing up late or not at all. Will not return.

I was very pleased with my stay here. The location, right on Town Lake, couldn't have been nicer. I would get up, go down and have my morning walk, come back and get my cafe latte at the new Starbucks in the lobby (even though I'm not a Starbucks fan), go back to my lovely suite and make plans for the day. Downtown is within walking distance, with great restaurants and live music easily available. You also have the nightly bat show just outside the hotel. The area is very safe. I was a single woman and did not hesitate to walk by myself at night. My only complaint was that the bathtubs didn't have a mat or rough surface to keep it from being slippery. Bonus: They had sleep-number beds that were very comfortable!

Rooms are nondescript and in need of updating. The buffet breakfast was nasty. The food looked as though it was prepaired for inmates not hotel quests. The workout room wasn't bad. Most hotels put in a couple of machines and call it a "fitness room" The facility had free weights, fitness balls and older machines, but was better than most.

The hotel has a great location and view of the lake. The food is nothing special, and the room a bit cramped for a suite, but a comfortable bed. The air conditioner keep the carpet damp and maid service was sporatic. Liked the Starbucks in the lobby. Costly parking that is not mentioned until arrival.

This is one of my standard hotels in Austin. It is located at 1st (Cesar Chavez) and Congress on the lake and walking distance to 6th street and many great restaurants, bars and music spots. The hotel has a Fridays and a Starbucks in-house. The rooms are okay - a bit better than average. The price is generally good. Parking is $13 a day for self park and $17 for valet as of 10/05 so take that into your price comparison.

We went for a bachelorette party and it was perfect. We got a suite so that we could do the lengerie party and have room for a dancer. The suite's living area was as big as my living room at home and had a kitchenette perfect for setting up the margarita station! Because we were a bachelorette party, we got free drink passes for TGIF's from the hotel for everyone in our party. We were also walking distance from 6th Street's great bars. If you're planning a party, this is the place to stay.

We had a kingsize bed reserved. At check-in they had us down for 2 double beds. When I let them know we had reserved a king the Asst. Manager said after a few seconds," We can probably do that". We were given a King room on a smoking floor. I felt at the time we may have been given the room out if spite.

The Radisson is well located, but was in the process of renovation. It is an older hotel that will benefit from the upgrading they are doing. The staff couldn't be more helpful which is a very good sign for the future. Ask for a higher floor room on the river side(9-12)
