| This was a wonderful place to stay for my first time in Amsterdam; so very convenient and centrally located to everything. Evereybody was so nice and very friendly; this meant a lot to me since I travel alone and I am 59 years young. I loved it so much I am going again at the end of the month.

| The staff were very helpful, the room (standard) was pretty, with a vase of fresh tulips when we arrived. The turndown service left Toblerone the each pillow at night. But the main reason to stay here is the location! You can walk almost anywhere from here, but if you don't want to, them tram stops directly in front of the hotel. It's a 10-minute walk from Central station, not bad if your luggage has wheels.

| This is a great hotel. Room was large and furnishings are well maintained. Nice colors, very clean, just a really nice room to return to at the end of the day! Might not be the cheapest hotel around Dam Square, but I definitely feel price was well worth the quality of room. Most sites are within walking distance and there's a tram stop just outside the hotel. Staff very nice and helpful! The only problem, our room was on the first floor and over the weekend it was slightly noisy at night...Might want to ask for a room on the upper floors.

| If you are looking for a hotel in the hub of Amsterdam, then Swisshtoel is a good choice. Accomodations are acceptible, but not as gradioise as it looks on Expedia. Rooms are very small, and we had the deluxe catagory. We felt we had started our river cruise out of Amsterdam early......

| To mirror many other traveller reviews, I can now say that this hotel is wonderful! Everyone who works there is no friendly and helpful, it is close to everything, yet still remains quiet when sleeping. Rooms were clean, beds/pillows could have been a little more comfortable and espresso maker in room was a real treat. 24 hour free internet service in business center was also very convenient. I would most definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who will be staying in Amsterdam in the future, and I myself would certainly stay again.

| We loved the location and our bright/large junior suite. The hotel is close to everything/tram stops right across the street or 1 block away. It is also very close to the Central station. The room was large and spacious. The bed was a giant Eastern King bed - one of best beds I slept on. The room was bright, large and airy. The furniture/decor was cheery. We received complimentary water/cholates every day, and on the first date, we also received a complimentary fruit platter. The coffee maker was also nice. An added bonus was that there was no hotel charges for making local toll free calls (for example, ATT local number). The wake up call was automated and easy to program (remember to use military time 1400 for 2pm). The room was slightly noisy - we could faintly hear the tram noises and the noise from a fair/carnival next street. We could not hear noises from our neighbors. We will definitely return to this hotel next time we are in Amsterdam!!!

| Definitely a good hotel....and I am picky! I had a situation where my room key did not work for me. The people at the hotel said that the person who could fix it was not in on weekends. They personally escorted me to my room every time! I never had to wait. The rooms were very comfortable, including the beds, and the service was great. They were young and full of energy. I will be back.

| Never being to Europe, let alone Amsterdam, I wasn't sure which hotel to choose. But when I arrived here, I knew right away it was the perfect place. The location is absolutely excellent. Being right next to Dam Square allows easy use of the public transportation as well as having the conveinence of walking anywhere. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, and all types of food are nearby. The restaurant attached to the hotel is great for breakfast, midday snacks, or coffee. When I go back, I'll be sure to stay here again...And if you choose this hotel, you will not regret it.

| The hotel is centrally located- short walk from the train station, red light district, shops and museums. Our only complaint would be that the hotel walls are thin and you hear both outside noise as well as people in the hallways. It was great to have free 24 hour internet access. Front desk was pleasant and helpful. Recommend train to Koog Zandijk and Alkmaar- lots of windmills and a beautiful countryside ride.

| This hotel is situated right in the thick of what most people goto Amsterdam for unless your thing is the art and museum tour, but that is easy enough to get to. This place is across the street from where the sightseeing bus leaves for the day, as well as across the street from Mme Tousauds. The canal tours are a block away and the Red Light District is 2 blocks away. It's right next to a system of alleyways with all kinds of shops and resturants. If you want pomp and pampering, go across the street to the NHK but if you want quick and courteous service, a nicely appointed clean room in a great location look no further. By the way, this hasd to be one of the most comfortable beds I've had in my travels and one of the better room service meals as well. Only one complaint is that in this day and age to charge at all, never mind so much for high speed internet (~20us/24Hr)just dosn't sit well with me. Other than that I have no reason to look any further for my hotel when I goto Amsterdam.

| The hotel is about 1/2 mile from the train station and central to everything. Our room was tastefully decorated and had a very comfortable bed (pillows were a little flat). The room had no view to speak of, but the hallway outside had a lovely view. The business center has two computers with FREE high-speed Internet (something nobody told us and until the last day, we'd been walking about 1/4 mile to the inexpensive Internet cafe). A little grocery store (similar to 7-11) was a few doors down so we were able to stock up on snacks, sodas, and bottled water. During my stay, a Christmas fair was just outside the door, with vendors selling snacks and crafts.

| The hotel is located right in the heart of the city just steps away from Dam Square and the Red Light District. Very convenient to shopping, dining, the train station. Room was large, comfortable, and very clean. However, the hotel staff was hardly "four star." Concierge was completely unhelpful (directed me to the internet to answer many questions) and the level of focus on guests by staff was much less than expected. Overall, location is key with this hotel.

| I had stayed at the Swissotel Amsterdam 7 years ago and again stayed there over the Thanksgiving holidays. I liked the hotel then and I still like it now. We had a superior room. The hotel rooms there are small but they have enerything you need. The room was very clean and nicely appointed with an excellent coffee machine that brewed great coffee. Comfy beds and pillows and the front desk people were very friendly. It is not a five star hotel (which I am accustomed to) but who really needs it in Amsterdam where you are not spending time in your room. The location can't be beat as it is on Damrak near Dam Circle. Centraal Station is very close and you can walk from there if you take the train from the airport. The location of the hotel was perfect for our tour of the city. The Red Light District is very close but you are not in it and there are many excellent coffee shops close by. Amsterdam is a very walkable and delightfully small city and we were able to see almost everything such as the Heineken Brewery and the Van Gogh Museum. If you need to hope on a tram there is a line right in front of the hotel and one right behind the Dam Circle that would take anywhere you would need to go. I would definitely stay here again the next time I go back to Amsterdam (hopefully it will be very soon).

Just as other European hotels, the room is not spacious. Though it's just beside the shopping street, it's very quiet in the room! I will choose this hotel again if I go to Amsterdam next time!

| My boyfriend and I just returned from Amsterdam on 10-13 and spent 4 great nights at the Swissotel. We had the junior suite which was like a plush new apartment, not your typical hotel room. PERFECT location, tram across the street and excellent coffee shops in walking distance. You could walk from Central Station to the hotel, no problem. Huge room and great wood floors, large bathroom and not noisy. Friendly staff. Returning next year, same place ! We loved this hotel.

We arrived at 10:30 am and they checked us into our room immediately rather then make us wait until 2:00pm. Less then 1/2 block from Dam Square where there is always something happening. We didn't partake of the breakfast as 20 euro seemed fairly spendy with several good places to eat close by for less then 10 euro. Great hotel!
