Maybe its the nature of Washington, but there were some oddities about this hotel. First let me say that the rooms and cleanliness were good. I would recommend this hotel on that alone. But, if you wanted some water to drink after 11 p.m., you had to pay $7 for a bottle of spring water at the hotel bar because the refrigerators weren't stocked. Also, when I asked them to call a cab they said that I should wait and one would come. I said what if it took a while and they had no response. These annoying tendencies aside, I had a comfortable stay.

I visited washington for a number of appointmenta and flew in from Kuwait. The staff were very helpful, particularly the telephone operator and the desk clerk when I arrived late in the evening. The hotel is "Oh so" convenient because it is on top of the Metro station and so you can get anywhere in Washington quickly. All the other facilities were first class. I will certainly stay there again.

I was very disappointed in the condition of the hotel. It was very worn and not kept up. The cleanliness of the room was not acceptable and the amenities and service were substandard. For example, towels with holes in them, stained linens, coffee packets not replaced, stained carpet, etc. The location was great and that was the only saving grace. I would never stay here again and I would never recommend it.

I stayed in a room with a convertable sofa bed. Big Mistake! This "bed" was unbearable due to the thin mattress and annoying springs and wires. If you stay here, do fall for the "teaser" room rates. Spend a little extra money and get a room with real bed rather than a convertable

This hotel is not the best hotel, but it's good if you need something located downtown in walking distance to the tourist attractions. Rooms are comfortable and the service from the staff is about average. Wasn't empressed with the view and the restaurant they have is rather expensive. I would recommend eating in the bar area. The parking deck there doesn't allow all access to your vehicle so unless you plan on taking the train I would use their valet service.

After reading previous reviews about this hotel, I had great reservations about staying at L'Enfant Plaza Hotel. However, the fact that it is literally in the middle of all of the national/capital buildings made me keep my reservation. I was extremely and pleasantly surprised to see that every staff person I encountered from the valet, front desk, manager, and housekeeping was very courteous, and appeared genuinely happy that I was staying at their hotel - they even let me check in early! The only slight complaint I had was the quality of the room. The room's furnishings were definitely out of date, and it appeared that the room was setup half fast (towels not folded all the way, bedspread not fully straightened). However, the bedding was extremely comfortable, and I can honestly say that I had one of the best night sleep in a hotel in a long time.

Hotel was nice although starting to show its age, you can park for free on the street during the weekends since meters are not enforced. Food selection for lower priced "fast" food is non existent. Hotel is close to Mall, still a lot of walking and nothing is really close by. There is an underground mall which includes a CVS and bakery but they have limited hours.

Location was great for sight seeing. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. My husband has back problems and he loved the beds. The food at the hotel was very expensive, especially for a family. The two meals we had there were excellent. Try the water front or get to the plaza before six for dinner. Getting a ticket at the metro was the hardest thing to figure out. The attendant we dealt with under the plaza was not very friendly she acted like we were a bother. But we felt suprisingly safe. It was also fast and cheap travel.

Location of this hotel was great. It was in walking distance to the mall, museums, and memorials. Metro was located beneath the hotel for easy and quick access to sites. Rooms were clean, and beds were comfortable. Bathrooms are in need of updating. Plenty of restaurants and pubs on Pennsylvania Ave. Starbucks in the lobby of hotel for a quick coffee and muffin. Hotel restaurant was a bit pricey.

Hotel located over metro so easy access to everywhere. Also within walking distance of Smithsonian museums. Concierge working afternoon and evenings was very helpful. The hotel had apparently relocated someone from our room and had forgotten to empty trash, clean coffee pot and dispose of used soap in bathroom. But our service while there was fine. One negative about the hotel is the lack of variety in restaurants, but the food they do provide is very good. They also have express elevators serving the upper floors which I appreciate very much. We stayed in a parlor room which only has sofa bed (rather than regular bed) but the space we had was unbelievable. We had desk, easy chairs, full-size dining room table and chairs, ice maker, small fridge, microwave, bar, etc. However, if you are a TV addict, the TV in those rooms is across the dining area from the sitting area and is somewhat small. Would I recommend this hotel? For the value for the dollar and the convenience to everything - Absolutely!

This hotel was centrally located in Washington DC. In fact, it was only a few blocks away from the National Mall. The service there was excellent! Everyone was very helpful and very courteous. The rooms were very very clean. A minor complaint: the a/c was a bit on the noisy side in my room, but luckily I'm a sound sleeper. My stay was in the room with a sleeper sofa. Given that I was travelling solo, it wasn't that big a deal. If I could do it again, I would probably opt for a room with a bed. Especially since I was there for a few days. The sleeper sofa is more suited to someone staying a single night. There is also a mall underneath the hotel with a variety of restaurants and shops that I found very convenient. There's a subway entrance right at the hotel as well. I enjoyed my stay at L'Enfant. Given my experience there, I'll most likely stay there again when I'm in the DC area. The price and the service were top notch.

The orinetal restaurant we dined at was in the same block and was excelent. The bank was within 1-1/2 blocks and lots of restaurants. However, it ws a little seedy area. We managed to overlook it.

The location of this hotel can't be beat! Blocks away from the National Mall and its Museums. Only problem we found was lack of meal choices for families. Dining spots in promenade below closed at 5pm on weekdays and most locations didn't open on weekend. Recommend Pentagon City (metro 2 stops)- mall and food court.. great choices for families - 2 stops on the metro. Only negative was that all tour/sightseeing info is behind the concierge's desk.. couldn't peruse them yourself, so although he was knowledgeable etc, you had to know what you wanted or you would have to rely on his opinion only. Because of the location, I would probably stay there again. Staff was wonderful.
