| Located right across the street from the Carlsbad beach, within walking distance (1-4 blocks) of dining and shopping, and a 5 minute drive from Legoland. The hotel was immaculate: our room was spacious, very clean, and newly decorated; the facilities were clean and grounds were well kept. The interior grounds are secured (requires a room key), and the pool and jacuzzi areas were enclosed with a fence of safety glass. The only disappointment: the "full" continental breakfast was coffee, tea, and packaged danish.

| I liked this hotel so much, in fact, this is the 2nd time I have stayed here. I had requested 2 queen beds, but they only had a room with 1 king available. They offered us 2 roll-away beds at no charge and made the stay enjoyable. Great continental breakfast and the staff was very friendly.

| You can't beat the location--just across the street from the beach, walking distance to eateries and shops, and just a few miles from Legoland (our destination). Free parking, continental breakfast, and morning papers add to the value. It's an older place that has recently been redone, and the breakfast room, main lobby, and front exterior are elegantly done in a craftsman/prairie style. A sundeck with comfortable lounges and tables affords sunset views. The snug courtyard hosts the heated pool and jacuzzi, and beautiful plantings in every available space. We recommend highly.
