This is a very good looking hotal that doesn't quite live up to the visual promise. We booked weeks in advance & contacted the hotel days before our trip to verify our room requests. My first call went to a voicemail system & was never answered. I called back that night & asked for a king size bed, non smoking, on the side away from the trains, which are quite loud at night if your room faces the tracks. When we arrived the only room available was facing the tracks, had double beds, & was a smoking room. The furniture & carpeting had seen better days, several decades worth. We were told that this was the only room available that night due to a delay in inspection of other rooms. After complaining twice the next day we were given another room, which still faced the tracks. It was much nicer, & didn't smell like a cigar, but it still wasn't what we had asked for to begin with. If they couldn't honor our requests they should have been honest with us up front, rather than taking our requests & ignoring them.

We spent the last day of our trip to Colorado exploring Denver and booked our final night at this hotel. Using the airport shuttle service, we were able to drop off our car that evening and then sleep a little later before taking the shuttle to our early flight home. The hotel was full service, very clean and quite nice.

Well, the lobby is nice and has obviously been remodeled lately....but once you get to the rooms, it is like stepping back in time. Is this 1973 - those clock radios are antique? Our first room had no water in the toilet bowl and a broken handle on the tank. The chairs had grease stains on the seats and there was a moldy, musty smell to the whole place. When we tried the phone to call to change rooms we found that the phone was broken. The cord to the handset would not stay attached. We were able to change rooms to one in better condition but a big blank spot where a chair had been in the other room. A trip to the pool, which is what we had chosen the hotel based on, yielded a ice-cold, feather, leaf and dirt ridden body of water that looked nothing like the pictures on the web. No pool towels and there was trash floating in the kiddie pool. Our kids were really disappointed. Not a nice way to start a vacation.

Our room was obviously recently remodeled - modern looking furniture, flat screen tv, feather blanket and pillows, thick matress pad. The room was fairly small, but for a one night stay over before flying out, it was down right luxurious for the very very reasonable price. Ask for a room on the "non-train side" as others have noted. The very kind staff obliged this request without blinking.

Great hotel for the price, but it had some problems. The service wasn't that great; even though we made our reservations a good while in advance, they still couldn't manage to get us into a room with a king bed. My girlfriend and I had to take a room with two double beds. We didn't have a Do Not Disturb sign in the room, no big deal, so we asked them for one, and they said they'd send it right up. It never came, so we had to fight off the maids the next morning. There were several other nitpicky things that aren't worth mentioning. As others have mentioned, a train travels past the hotel several times a night, 3AM and 6 AM were the two times we took notice. It's incredibly loud and blares its horn constantly as it passes. It's still a good hotel considering what we paid for it, just don't go there expecting to get a lot of sleep unless you're an incredibly sound sleeper.

Hotel was very clean and also the restaurant staff was fast and friendly as well. This hotel comed highly recomended! Free shuttle to downtown and to the airport is a nice addition. the drivers of these shuttles were the best as well, very, very friendly and always willing to help out. I experienced 3 different drivers and they all went out of their way for people.

Just gotta say that this was a great place for the money. the lobby, deli, and lounge were all beautiful, and the staff was great. the only sub-par things were the drinks were pretty pricey in the lounge, not much of a view, and it seemed like the carpets in the hallways were a little dated. other than that, I really enjoyed it. didnt hear any trains, like some of the reviews mentioned. room was beautiful, bathroom was good sized, and there was good water pressure, which is pretty rare in Denver hotels. felt like we got a lot more than we paid for, cant wait to return in the summer to try the pool and hot tub.

I reviewed what other people had said and then looked at the price and decided to give it a try. The lobby and eating areas were very nice a 3star but when you get to the rooms it felt very mush like a budget hotel not a 3star. Several things didn't work but my kids didn't seem to mind. The staff in the bar was very helpful with information and even called and got us Easter brunch reservations at the last minute, I thought that was great. It is close to afew stores and places to eat. The pool wasn't open but they told us we could use their sister hotels indoor pool just up the street. That was great for my kids. I would use this hotel again.

Nice clean hotel, great lobby, fair resteraunt, but what they didn't tell me was that the coal trains went right by the hotel starting about 3AM, and that they blow their horns multiple times as they go through the intersection next to the hotel. The trains came by every 1/2 hour until I checked out at 6:30AM. It was a great room to get no sleep in.

Needed a decent place to stay while checking out some music in Denver, so I stayed at the Red Lion. It was great because their shuttle saved me 25 dollars each time I rode back and forth from the airport and about a 25 dollar cab ride to downtown Denver. Within 5 minutes walking distance there's an IHOP, a Country Buffet, McDonalds, WalMart (so basicly anything you could possibly need), Arby's, and several other places a shorter distance away. I got a great deal at the time on the hotel and would reccomend it to anyone that wants to stay in Denver for a good price. Travelers vacationing Denver might want to look into a hotel that is in Downtown Denver though. Make sure to rent a car and leave the city and travel through the mountains!

I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the hotel, as the rate was so reasonable. My room was very clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The shower had great water pressure, and the bathroom was very clean. The room did not have much of a view, as it was on the end by an elevator, and faced the wall from the other side of the hotel. I didn't mind, as I was only staying the one night. The lobby had a very nice bar and restaurant area which looked like a nice casual place to relax. The bar area had a large television, and was very clean. I did not eat in the restaurant, but did look at the menu, which offered a nice variety of selections. I would stay here again, as it was convenient to the airport and downtown area. We drove to both without any problems, and were not familiar at all with the area.

We stayed in the Red Lion Central near the airport (there's another one Invesco Field) and were pleasantly surprised by everything the hotel had to offer. The lobby was new and beautiful and the room was comfortable. The bathroom was roomy, which is always a plus in hotels. The only thing I would recommend is that they don't charge their customer for High Speed Internet Service from their room. The only plus side is that the service is complimentary in their lobby.

Complaints: toilet and sink were slow/partially clogged, but otherwise bathroom was clean and fine; difficult to get the room to the right temperature. Would recommend this as a practical stay - nothing terribly fancy. And a good choice for getting to downtown or the airport. Also liked the park & ride option!
