| The Pacific Hotel is ideally located for families with children. The restaurants were excellent and the view of the aquarium during breakfast is very entertaining. Staff were very pleasant and friendly in all areas of the hotel. For swimming, the pool was great for kids and just across the street, the ocean is contained by retaining walls making it safe and secure for younger children. Shopping is varied and convenient, also. It's a bit more relaxing location than the hotel area just a few blocks further north on Waikiki Beach. Excellent for all ages.

| Staff was friendly and helpful...although the hotel seems to cater to mostly Japanese tourists. Our room was always fresh and clean everyday and we had a great ocean view even if it was partial. Breakfast at the Oceanarium was excellent with a great view of the aquarium and good food with a lot of choices.

| i have stayed in this hotel 6 years ago its not as bad as this time, their carpeting needs to be change, the furnitures are outdated, their vents need to be clean, when we took shower the bathtub clogged up. this hotel got a good location, and it looks like they're doing pretty good, the hotel is fully booked. and also if you needed extra coffee, just look for the cleaning ladies they give it for free if you call the desk they charge $3.00/packet. free breakfast is good but after 3 days of eating the same stuff it gets to you, we decided to eat at Mcdonalds the next day, its across the street.

| The first thing that greets you when you walk in the door is the strong smell of fish. Although we paid for the extra guest in the room to the tune of $50 per night, they did not want to give us breakfast vouchers for that extra person. They said the extra fee was for the roll away bed of which there was none. The elevators are totally inadequate resulting in long waits.

| My son and I stayed here last week. Our room was on the 12th floor and had a nice partial view of the ocean. The room was clean and nicely decorated. We ate the first night at the Oceanarium restaurant which had a nice view of the different species of fish. It is a seafood buffet every night, but there were a few non-seafood items available such as prime rib, which I found to be very tender. However, I found the buffet to be quite expensive. There were no prices posted anywhere. Had I known how much I would have paid for 2 people I probably would have eaten somewhere else. The front desk was very helpful in storing our luggage after checkout the last day we were there. We had a late flight and needed somewhere to put our luggage. They also provided us with a complimentary hospitality room to freshen up before we left for our return flight home. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are several shops in the hotel which were nice but quite pricey. Considering the prices, I would stay here again.

We appreciated the fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We feel that we got a great hotel for the money and we will stay again. The prime rib and seafood buffet was great (look for coupon) and the breakfast buffets were delicious.

| Not a bad hotel if you like bare-bones accomodations. The rooms we stayed in were in dire need of updating and the hotel pool was a complete joke. However, the presence of a hot tub was a welcome sight even though it was terribly undersized. The restaurant on the ground floor was appealing except for the outrageous price for the buffet dinner. No childrens size/price as in other more well known hotels. For some odd reason, on site parking fees could not be tacked on to your room tab - somewhat inconvenient. Overall, I would choose a "Brand Name Hotel" next time for lodging in the Waikiki Beach Area, and try the Aquarium restaurants at my discretion.

| Just returned a few days ago from a week stay in Oahu and at the Pacific Beach Hotel. The location for this hotel was perfect, right across the street from the beach in Waikiki. Our room was on the 10th floor on the Diamondhead side of the building, with a partial ocean view in the front tower which turned out to be very nice views of each. Only ate dinner our first night there in the Oceanarium restaurant and the food was very good although the buffet was a bit pricey. Our room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space and the bathroom was of decent size. I didn't notice any lack of maintenence with our room at all. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that asked for a nice place to stay. It may not have the glitz and glamour of a 5-star hotel, but who would want to just hang out at a hotel while in Hawaii anyhow. Plenty of restaurants were close by and there was a 'Cheeseburgers in Paradise' only a few steps away which had good food and great seating with view of the beach and ocean. Great place to hang out for a drink and relax. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a clean and comfortable room that is right across the street from the beach and ocean. We did not have a lot of interaction with the hotel staff, but what little we did, they all seemed to be friendly and helpful.

| Good service, friendly staff. Just across the street is Waikiki so it's super convenient. I'm not sure if it's specific to this hotel but they seemed very tuned to Japanese tourists with writing everywhere including the elavators. Speaking of which they were annoyingly slow at times. Overall the hotel looks like it could use some new carpeting and minor touch ups.

| This hotel is located in a great spot. Right across the street (small 2 lane road) to the beach. Close to everything (was walking distance to many shopping locations and restaurants). The ABC Store on the 1st floor, right in front of the elevators (Beach Tower) was sometimes too convenient - it has literally anything you may need. It was so convenient to just walk out of the elevator and right into the store to get snacks, drinks, cosmetic items (soap, shampoo, razors, lotion), and gifts ~ All at very reasonable prices. There is a great selection of restaurants within walking distance in all price ranges. The room was great - the best deal I could find. We had an Ocean View Room and had a great view of Waikiki Beach from our balcony. Would highly recommend this hotel as the best deal on Waikiki Beach - comfortable room, convenient location, and very reasonable price.

| We stayed at Pacific Beach for 10 days in July 2005. This hotel is right across Kalakaua Avenue from the Beach. Since Kuhio Beach Park is on the beach side of Kalakaua at this point, there are no buildings between this hotel and the ocean, and the view from our 11th floor balcony oceanfront room in the "beach tower" was great. The room was clean and well maintained. The pool is very small and narrow, and is outside in an area at about the 5th floor between the beach tower and the oceanarium tower. The pool is one of the less attractive features of the hotel, but with the beach across the street, this isn't much of a drawback. The hot tub is in the same area as the pool. The hotel has three restaurants, only one of which (Neptune's Garden), we ate at. Neptune's Garden was good, but expensive, perhaps overpriced. There are LOTS of other restaurants within walking distance of this hotel, on or near Kalakaua Avenue. The wait for elevators seemed too long during peak periods, but wasn't bad most of the time. There is a parking garage, which costs $12.50 per day, and I never had a problem finding a space for our rental car. This hotel has a really great location, and the price can't be beat, given its location. You would pay a lot more for a hotel on the ocean side of Kalakaua Avenue, and there is a road crossing with a "walk/don't walk" sign right in front of the hotel.

| We were in Hawaii from July 1 thru the 12. Our daughter was invited to play in a volleyball tournament in Hawaii so we wanted to stay close to her hotel. I am SO glad that we chose the Pacific Beach Hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a very nice partial view. We stayed on the 34th floor and had a nice view of the ocean and diamond head (also a nice view of our daughters room as well)! Customer service was outstanding!! Very helpful. Across the street from the beach and walking distance to almost everywhere. Only rented a car for 2 days. Needed one to go to tourny and we visited Pearl Harbor. Restaurants are very highly priced in hotel but was expected. Recommend highly -LuLu's, Cheeseburger in Paradise, & Starbucks are EVERYWHERE-thank goodness!! There is a MrDonald's on the corner and Burger King is a block or so down the street. The only downfull was we blew a breaker in our room but that was fixed with a new plug in within 15 minutes. Will return no question!

| We took our first vacation without the children April 24th to 29th and booked an ocean front room. Beautiful view, clean room, very helpful staff. Our only complaint would be that the beds are very hard, almost like sleeping on the floor. We felt the Restaurant was a little high priced for the buffet offered(roughly $30.00 per person for dinner and $15.00 per person for Breakfast)but other places within walking distance to eat at.

| We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The carpets and decor need a little work and are not as up to date that we have encountered at other Hawaii hotels. I loved the restaurant. The buffett was outstanding and watching the fish in the tanks was relaxing as you ate. The service was outstanding too. The location is great. You are right across the street from the beach and you are close to other stores and restaurants. You are closer to the end of the Waikiki strip, however, it is still within walking distance to the zoo, aquarium, market, and other decent stores and eating places. The hotel with room views had an outstanding view. We were very happy with the location of the room and our view. We don't usually stay at the same hotel when we travel to Hawaii, but we would definitely visit the restaurant if we had the chance. No comments on the pool area due to not visiting it. We had a good time.

| I was pleased with the hotel and had an excellent view from the 29th floor of diamond head and the ocean (deluxe ocean view). The oceanarium restaraunt was also very nice. I dont think I could have gotten a better view for the price. Their does always seem to be a wait for the elevator even though they were pretty fast once you were on one. I also didnt care for the pool/snack machine/laundry hours as well as the cafe hours. Everything closes to early (like 8 or 9 pm) in the hotel for a location that seemed to be very much alive at 2 am. It was definately worth the price but you will probably want to spend you evenings at the bar & grills at other hotels or something. The pool/jacuzzi is nothing special and because of the towers, you dont get sun all day, you will want to do that at the beach. The jacuzzi was good to recover from the flight over but it not designed to be very comfortable with the concrete overhangs around the edge where your neck would be.
