I thought there was a catch when we booked the hotel thru Expedia. "Too good to be true?" But, no, the Hotel Louvre is a 3 star hotel across the street from the Louvre. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the room was wonderful, the bathroom expansive, and the view was of the Louvre. What could be better? Walking distance to Notre Dame, Musee D'Orsay, L'Opera...What fun!

It was my first trip to Paris, and I'd been really busy with work so that I chose the hotel without having much time to investigate all the other possibilities. In any case, the location of the hotel, right in front of the Louvre, was, in and of itself, a very positive point about the hotel. The desk people and concierges all spoke English and were friendly and professional. The hotel is attractive, well maintained, and perhaps a bit expensive, but what can you do? Paris is infamous for hotels with small rooms, weird bathrooms, unfriendly employees, etc., but I found nothing of that here. The room was relatively large, the bathroom, too, and everything worked fine, no problems whatsoever. A bit expensive, perhaps, but I recommend it especially for the prime location--so much beauty and history and culture all within walking distance.

Being a stickler for cleanliness & decor, I was just a bit worried about the Hotel du Louvre based on the photos posted but was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a great, central location in the 1st arrondissement - with the metro stop directly in front of the entrance. Plenty of ATMs and shopping steps away. Our room was very small but clean and QUIET - which is key on such a busy street. The bathroom more than made up for the small room as it was newly renovated in marble with 2 sinks and a bidet. The concierge was very helpful in making dinner reservations for us and it was nice to have a small room with 2 computers - the "business center" - to check email (9 euros for 30 minutes). For a business trip, I was very happy and satisfied with this hotel - which for me is saying a lot!

My husband used to live in Paris and chose this hotel because of its location and proximity to many tourist destinations. Hotel was extremely lovely and comfortable and staff could not have been more accomodating. I can't imagine staying anywhere else that could be a better value for the dollar...it's not cheap but worth every penny.

Beautiful lobby, hallways, nice looking rooms. We were on a non-smoking floor but hallway and rooms smelled like smoke. Rooms seemed kind of stuffy - not adequate ventilation maybe. Rooms are adequately sized but not overly roomy by U.S. standards. Would not be suitable for older people because step up to get in the shower is about a foot. Location is excellent for Louvre, sites in this area of Paris. Would stay there again but might bring a small fan and air freshener!

Perfectly situated in the heart of the city. The rooms facing Rue de Rivoli can be noisy if you open your double pane shutters. Make sure you request a jr. suite if you want a place to sit down. Tell them to turn on the ac if it gets stuffy. They turn it off when the weather cools. Great hotel. Staff is friendly and speaks english freely.

My wife and I spent one week at the Hotel de louvre. First when you approach it looks exactly like the picture at night beautiful. The rooms inside were perfect for us very comfortable we had to singles together and never noticed slept well. The staff all speak english very well, and are very accommodating and exchange money for Euros. There are numerous restaraunts around the Hotel even a very French located right next to the church. The louvre is literally outisde your door. No hidden charges. We even ordered in room service recovering from jet lag and it was perfect meal and try the french fries seriously wow. They offer internet cards 20 euros for an hour a small room on the 2nd floor. As far as other amenities, didnt bother with them. There is a cafe right outside the entrance to the left of the hotel on the first floor with chairs outside a reasnable breakfast 9 euros for roll, croissant, juice, cafe. The is a restaraunt accross the street a little rushed but meal was great no french translation though, Hagan daaz accross the street. We left our digital in the room not locked up and returned after 14 hours and it was still there as well as left some euros on the table and was there when we returned, it was a very safe area never felt uneasy. One thing though do not try the Main restaraunt the food was medicore and service was not well though we .

My husband & I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and we would really recommend this hotel. GREAT location to all the sights. We walked to most so be sure to take your comfy shoes. The room was very nice, we loved the jr. suite. The Louvre is directly behind the hotel. The Concierge was very helpful. They made reservations for us to Moulin Rouge and we got the best seats. My husband also tipped him-HINT. We ate only one time in the hotel and never drank there. Cafe Ruc is across the street. Great place to sit outside and drink wine. Our room was always clean. They even leave a daily forecast.(take an umbrella) The SHOWER is the only thing that we had to adjust too. The door is glass but does not fully encase the shower. Expedia did a great job also for booking for us online. Taxi from Airport to hotel is around $40.00. There is also an elevator in the hotel. If you thinking about booking this hotel, Please Do !

Our experience at the Louvre was good. The hotel is located in an area of the city that basically allows you to walk, somewhat easily, just about everywhere. No better way to really experience Paris then by foot. The staff was friendly. Restaurant and bar were nice. Room was small, but had an amazing view. Had some trouble with a noisy neighbor, but otherwise, was quiet and comfortable. Great restaurants surround you down just about every street...wonderful sandwich shop just around the corner and a great cafe down and to the right for breakfast, snack, or a glass of wine or beer at night. Highly recommend.

We chose this hotel for the price, location, and history. Plus the picture on the website looked really nice. Location was excellent for the Louvre, Metro, Palais Royale, local shopping, and reasonable walking distance of the Musee D'Orsay, Notre Dame, and Saint Chapelle. It is NOT the area for late night partying; everything closes early. There's a cab stand right across the street, so we never had a problem getting one. There are three ATMs within a block of the hotel. The rooms are small and appear unrenovated, although the bathrooms are newer, but cramped. Walls are solid plaster (no sheetrock here) and quiet. Maid service was efficient and unobtrusive. Check-in was quick and easy. Our party of 3 couples all got rooms next to eachother. The buffet breakfast is expansive, and expensive (21 Euros). Our main problem was with the concierge desk. They were polite and tried hard, but were incompetent, and always seemed to tell us the wrong thing. All in all, they served their purpose, making dinner reservations as we asked. Everything else, we double-checked before doing.Everything is so expensive in Paris. Heinekens are 8 Euros, Jack and Cokes were 14 Euros. Evian bottles are 5 Euros. Our first night we spent over 1000 Euros for 6 people at dinner, so everything after that seemed like a bargain.
