Architect Michael Graves has created a wonderful experience in La Jolla. If you like a mix of great architecture, an almost art gallery experience, wonderful service, great rooms. Great location to access most anywhere within 10 minutes. My only negetive comment is the pricy self parking rates not included in the guest rate. I stayed at other Hyatt properties in resort communities and it was free. Great cocktails in Michael's Lounge.

My wife and I were in town for a short vacation. We were disappointed in the hotel overall. We had to change rooms because ours wasn't very clean. While the service at the hotel was pretty good, The location was better for business travelers. We would stay closer to downtown LaJolla or the Gaslamp District the next time around.

Beautiful, newly decorated rooms with pleasing decor and beds. Front desk is professional and helpful. Only negative is that health club is on same premises as hotel but run by private company and daily, discounted rates are still a bit high--however, great club and spa. Convenient selection of decent restaurants across the courtyard, not associated with hotel.

The Hyatt La Jolla has remained a favorite place for us to stay on our family trips to San Diego. We always come back.

The service my friend and I received during our stay was wonderful! The cabride to the hotel from the airport was a whooping $35. Since we were there to sightsee, we soon realized it would be expensive to take a cab everywhere. The front desk graciously arranged a rental car to be delievered to us in less than an hour! We then found out we were staying in the same hotel as the Dallas Cowboys. The whole stay was a divine treat.

Hotel itself was clean; rooms clean but showing just a little age. Service was very good, from front desk to concierge to maids to valets ($22/day valet parking). Location was fine for our purposes. Being north of San Diego proper, just east of I-5 in La Jolla, it's not particularly close to any one attraction. But with a car, you can jump onto I-5 in a minute and get to the main attractions (Sea World, SD Zoo, La Jolla beaches/shopping, etc.) and back easily. Pool was fine, room service food was good. Across the plaza out the front door, you can walk to two fairly upscale restaurants: Japengo (Sushi/Japanese) and a steakhouse (I forget which one, a nice national chain). All in all, a good-to-very good stay; a nice hotel with above-average service.

I used Expedia's traveler reviews to pick this hotel. I am very sensitive to noise from air ports, freeways, trains, etc. This hotel was perfect. There was no noise. It was mostly business people. We saw a few children, but not many. The hotel was close to everything. The hotel was beautiful, the staff was exceptional from the maids to the Concierge, the pool looked awesome but we didn't have time to get in it.

The bottom line is that I can recommend this hotel. As I don't know SD and was coming with a rent-car, the place was very easy to find just off I-5; the hotel has excellent fitness facilities (with classes which I took advantage to spin and do yoga, though they costs $12 a day); it also has a few very good restaurants; and finally it is near shopping centers in case one has to do some errands (e.g. we had our breakfast at nearby Whole Foods supermarket). As for the room, it's what's should be offered at this price range.

Very nice hotel convenient to LaJolla and reasonably convenient to San Diego attractions. Attentive and helpful service staff. Busy with local attractions so didn't have a chance to take advantage of what looked to be a lovely pool complex. Only complaint, as with many hotels these days is with tiny closets. Fine for lone business travelers but horrible for families.

... If you're going on a business trip, I'd recommend this hotel 100%. However, I went for a vacation with kids, and I don't think it's geared towards families with young children. It was super quiet guests would look at you funny if you had kids making noise. Other than that, I have no complaints. The staff were very attentive and nice. Didn't get the chance to visit the gym or other parts of the hotel much, but when it got to sleep time, we all had our rest!

This was our first family trip to San Diego and The Hyatt Regency La Jolla turned out to be the perfect hotel for us. It was in a perfect location - it felt like we were close to everything that we wanted to see and do while in San Diego (beaches, golf courses, shopping, restaurants, the zoo, Sea World). Because it is right off of I-5 (the main interstate that runs N-S through San Diego) it never took more than 10-15 minutes to get every where we wanted to go. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff were very friendly and accomodating during our stay. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Hotel is an up to date business hotel, close to I-5, but too much noise from traffic, especially when asking for a room to the main entrance side. Valet service available, but somewhat expensive at $22 per day, self park in underground garage a viable option. There are several restaurants in the compound (Italian, Steakhouse, Japanese fusion) and a large bar. Also available is pool, gym andtennis courts.

We had the unfortunate timing and went to this beautiful resort and city of La Jolla when it rained for 2 weeks solid. We escaped the Chicago weather of 10 degrees and snow to So.California only to have 5 days of non stop rain. So we spent a lot of time in the hotel and they place was fabulous. Staff was friendly and helpful with other things to do and places to go even in bad weather. We were there the week the San Diego Chargers played the New York Jets in there playoff game. The Jets stayed at our hotel and it seemed everywhere you turned we would run into one of these guys. They werte very nice, very huge but nice so we from Chicago had a routing interest in the game and the jets won. You figure if the place is nice enough for the Football teams it has to be nice for us average Joes. I would recommend anyone looking for a classy hotel with friendly service, excellent food and beautiful pool area and health club to come and enjoy the Hyatt La Jolla.

The accommodations at the Hyatt Regency LaJolla were among the best I have had in quite a while. The nearby restaraunts and shopping was a plus. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The health club was surprisingly comparable to many independant health clubsI was a little disappointed in that wireless service to the rooms was a little weak and not available at a discounted rate. Self-Parking was at a rate more than advertised as well.

This hotel is very nice. The only complaint that we had was that they put us in a handicap-access room, which was fine, except the shower didn't have a side so that someone in a wheelchair could get in there, so all of the water from our shower ran all over the bathroom floor. Because of this, the bathroom is very mildewy and moldy and made the entire room smell bad. We just asked to be moved after the first night and they complied quickly. All in all, it is a beatiful hotel and I would stay there again anytime.

The hotel is beautiful although it is very difficult to find the entrance off La Jolla Village drive as there is no sign. Parking is difficult, the underground parking garage is shared by more than just the hotel guests. It was extremely difficult to find a spot on Thursday night as the hotel's club Michaels is a big draw therefore there is a lot of people coming to the hotel that aren't staying there. Also the noise from the nightclub emanated up into our room on the 5th floor. It did not quiet down until after 1:30 am. We did ask for a new room the next day and accommodations were made with a complimentary bottle of wine and some fruit, so they made good.
