I love this hotel, I go back year after year - the service is wonderful, ambience amazing and the spa is the best in Arizona. I love all the pools and that it is a little out of the main rush of things as well. My only complaint this time is the noise level in the Deluxe Room I had in one of the main buildings.......I could hear the person above me shower, watch TV, walk, etc. and it was loud!!!! I recommend the hotel but would stay in the Casita Suites or top floors as not to be woken up again at 6:30am by someone elses shower!!

We went for a one night stay and it just went by way too fast! Lot's to do or just do nothing!!! It's all up to you. It's has multi pool areas and if your looking for quite you should be able to find a spot. As for the families- No worries it has its own "Kids Club" that has many things planned all day long. Will even take the kids swimming while your off relaxing at the adult pool! I would strongly try this "Resort" out, you won't be dissapointed. Oh and the service is in a class 2nd to none!!! They are willing to go out of their way for you. Enjoy!

The Fairmont Princess is a large "resort" hotel that is made for conferences with last conference area and wide open architecture. The service was excellent although I didn't order inroom food. The room was large and had a large balcony with chairs and table to sit outside. The furniture was southwestern motif and everything was new and in perfect shape. The bathroom was also large with Mexican tile throughout. For staying one night you will find the walk from your car to the room somewhat long but for multiple day stay this hotel will provide sanctuary from the bustling big city feel of Pheonix and Scottsdale.

We enjoyed the amenities at this property. They did unfortunately cancel the "Dive In " movie 2 of the 3 scheduled times during our 8 day stay which was disappointing because that was part of the point for us with our children. They also were relatively indifferent about it and did not offer to run the movie on an "unscheduled" night. The information was very poorly communicated. On the flip side... the kid's club was great and free! 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Very nice staff and really well organized and variety of activity.

Just returned from 2 nights at the Princess. This wonderful hotel was very kid-friendly and extremely nice. My kids loved the kids check-in, including the gifts they got to exchange at the hotel stores. The kids club looked wonderful and it was FREE but we weren't there long enough to use it. The water slides were fantastic, everything was great. I would love to return to this hotel again -- perhaps when it isn't 115 out.

Beautiful rooms accompanied by similar views and a staff that strives to make your stay most satisfying. Rooms: Very clean with amply sized bathrooms. Pools: Clean and spacious. Many chairs to lounge in. Drink staff was a bit slow (except for the male servers who are sprinting to serve orders in 108F heat - don't know how they can do that, most of us would have passed out). Waterslides were fun, but that pool was quite dirty (guessing becuase of all the little ones). Restaurants: Close a bit early - we were looking for dinner at 9:30 (typical in Manhattan which is home, but not so in Scottsdale). La Hacienda was great - recommed sitting in the back room (round room) much brighter. Friendly, helpful and entertaining staff. "Dive-In Movies": Like a drive in but you sit on an air mattress in the pool and watcha a movie like "E.T" on the big screen - quite unique, considering you are in the middle of a desert.

My family and I spent 6 days at this resort and thourghly enjoyed each and everyone of them. My child liked fishing in the pond and the pool with slides. We loved the idea of the kids club where you can drop off your child for half or whole day to play with other kids while you spent a day at the spa or did some site seeing. It is a beautiful resort and I would go back next time I'm in the area.

We had one issue with houdekeeping not showing up to do our room by 8PM even though we left the hotel at 8AM. I complained and the hotel went out of its way to help including giving up a complimentary breakfast and dinner. I can't ask for more. Their response was outstanding. The resort, five swimming pools and their restaurants are fabulous. Special merit goes to La Hacienda and Marquesa. I would definitely go back.

We stayed here over a Memorial day weekend. Our stay was excellent and I would highly recommend this hotel. The grounds of the hotel were the biggest attraction to us - it is a truly 5 star resort. The pools are excellent - we spent a good portion of our time just lazing around the pool. One can also take pleasant walks around the grounds - the lake is very nice and there were plenty of birds chirping away in the trees. Feel very relaxed after our mini-vacation there.

Everything was wonderful, from the service at check-in to the concierge and wait staff. Great location for a quick getaway on the west coast. You can have just about any experience you want. Can be a vacation for the family or a romantic getaway for 2 (just stay away from the kids pool). The spa is just about one of the best that I've been to and they have excellent golf & tennis facilities as well. Scottsdale is a resort town so there is not much to see beyond the resort, but the Fairmont offers everything you could want so there is no reason to leave.

I often travel to Scottsdale but this was my first visit to the Princess. It's a true resort, fairly self-contained, and in better repair than a more famous "country club" resort over on East Camelback. The staff is friendly, and the accomodations as nice as or nicer than any other Scottsdale resort. It's expensive...but DUH it's a resort and charges resort prices. My only complaints were that housekeeping was slow in making up my room one day and that the "business center" was an abysmally small, under-airconditioned tomb. Aside from those faux pas, whether it was breakfast in the LV Bistro (with Tim the waiter, who was one of the nicest resort employees I've met in my travels) or dinner at The Grill at the TPC course next door (with complimentary transportation to and from the restaurant), my experience was excellent. If you're willing to bear the costs of a resort, you'll like the Princess alot.

I've stayed at other 5 Star Hotels and this doesn't compare. Upon check-in we arrived at 2:30, and yes we knew that check-in didn't start until 4, but we tried anyway. The desk clerk assured us our room would be ready in 30-45 minutes and she would call us on our cell phone when ready. After 1 hour WE went to the front desk and yes, we were told it would be another 30-45 minutes and they would call when it was ready. No call. After 1 hour. We went to the front desk again. We finally got into our room at 4:45 and asked for a rollaway bed to be deliverd. We went out to dinner and returned at 9 p.m. and no rollaway bed. We called housekeeping and were told they weren't sure if they had any left and they would call us back. No call. About 30 minutes later one finally arrived. In the bathroom, there was mold in the shower and broken tiles near the sink. The mold wasn't cleaned up until it was mentioned to the maid and then our room smelled of bleach. At the pool, the water slide pool was dirty the entire time we were there, (4 days) and was a little green. The service around the pool was excellent. The food was so overpriced it was ridiculous. For the money we paid and the service we received I was not too happy with this resort.

This hotel is fabulous. You feel like you are in a resort across the ocean. It is wonderful for a relaxing romantic retreat. We love the cositas and the private pool or if we want a more lively atmosphere we go to the huge main pool area...were we feel like we are at a far away beach resort. We also can't wait to bring the kids back---so many activities for everyone. The restaurants: Marqueza and the Grill are to die for but be prepared to put a big dent in your pocket book if you eat anywhere on the resort. I would also recommend renting a car b/c it is a $50 cab ride to and from the airport. It is a long drive everywhere and the resort is so large you really walk a lot. I would stay in the main resort area if you have kids or elderly. WE can't wait to go back and bring both my parents and our kids!

I went to this hotel to relax and get away from it all. It was the thick of summer, 125 degrees in Scottsdale, but I was happy to relax by a pool and read. The only warning I would give is that it was absolutely overrun by kids and very loud in the pool and recreation areas. But I had booked treatments at the Willow Stream spa, and it has a roof pool with lounge chairs that are constantly spritzed by ice cold water, which was about the most heavenly thing ever. I totally recommend the hotel for families, but if you're an adult who wants some peace and quiet, make sure to visit the spa, which is the nicest I've ever been to.

The staf were really nice, the setting was enjoyable and we had a good and healthy stay in the resort & scotsdale in general. The only thing that I think needs to improve is the quality of menu, food selection & pricing for the resturant/cafe near the main pool, although we liked the setting.

Hands down, this is one of the top hotels in Scottsdale. We went on a last minute trip seeking some sun and weren't disappointed. The hotel is very luxurious and well maintained, and the hotel staff is attentive and extremely courteous. The pool areas are great, as are the very comfortable lounge chairs. We really enjoyed sitting outside on those very warm nights, sipping a libation from the bar. There are lots of great restaurants and shopping close by, and plenty of activities if you are so inclined, although I would only recommend them in cooler weather. We can't wait for another excuse to return for a short vacation, and longer would be even better.
