| This hotel is beyond words. It is absolutely amazing in every way and far exeeded our expectations. The friendliness and service is the best I've ever seen. The hotel's pools alone are worth the stay...huge salt water pool lagoon, safari-like river pool with waterfalls and slides, jacuzzis, etc. The hotel lobey is all open style filled with exotic plants, flowers and parrots!..one parrot in particular will amaze you with his tricks. The beach is beautiful...there are short trails that lead up to a cliff where the view is amazing and romantic. However, be aware that most of Kauai's beaches are very dangerous....but that said there are many spots on the island to swim...and of course snorkle. Don't forget sun block!!...the sun is extreme! There is a $15 a day resort fee but let me tell you it is well worth it....you get an unbelievable free breakfast buffet ever day in one of their resturants...every food you can think of including sushi(on some days) and is all open style set next to a huge Koi pond with swans and an ocean view. This Hotel is great for everyone....families and kids will love it as well as honeymooners. This was our honeymoon vacation and we can't wait to go back to take our kids there in the someday. Kauai is a beatiful island with much to see and do especially in you love seclusion and nature. So in conclusion it was by far our best vacation ever and I would strongly reconmend this hotel to anyone.

| If you are in doubt about whether to stay in a condo or at this resort, let me assure you of this - the extra money to stay at this resort is money well spent. It might even be the most important money you spend yielding the most bang for the buck. Had we stayed anywhere else on Kauai our stay would have been less nice. The room was totally adequate, well appointed and comfortable. The hotel and grounds were fantastic! The pools and the water slide alone were worth the extra cost. The lagoon and kayaks were a lot of fun, too. By the way, the kayaks are not free but an hour or two spent paddling around was fun. "Sunshine-On-Sale" was worth the cost. The buffet breakfast was superb, even for a buffet.

| The Hyatt on Kauai is a very nice hotel without being ostentatious like the Princeville hotel on the North shore. It seems to blend in with the natural environment, which is nice. The hotel staff are very friendly and accomodating. The grounds and pools are well maintained. The main pool is one of the nicest pools we've seen.

| Everything about our stay at The Grand Hyatt was awesome. The grounds were beautiful, the staff was courteous and able to answer any questions we had about the island. Upon arriving we were upgraded from a garden view to a partial ocean view and the view was outstanding. We had a view of all the pools, lagoon, and of course the ocean. The surf at the beach right in front of the Hyatt was a bit rough but nothing to complain about. Dinner at Tidepools was delicious and the ambiance was very nice. The llima terrace was a good place for lunch with very good food. Overall we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Kauai.

| It was absolutely fabulous. The view of the ocean, the lagoon, the pools and waterfalls were awesome. I felt like a king for a week. I was slightly disappointed when I found out that I was being charged $15 per day for services I wasn't using. This was the only thing I didn't like about our stay.

| Our stay at the Grand Hyatt Resort in Kauai was probably the most memorable experience we have ever had in any hotel or resort. The resort was beautiful in every aspect from the opulent lush veranda that greets you in the lobby to the tasteful appointed guest rooms. The pools, lagoons and gardens are all a fantasy come true yet always tasteful. The staff were fantastic; warm, attentive people who would remember your name and go out of their way for every detail. Can't say enough about the place!

| We were floored by the cost of food at the Hyatt! The refrigerator in the room was not a real refrigerator, but rather merely a wine cooler. Even on its coldest setting, my 3 year old daughter's milk spoiled overnight. Even children's portions were way too large, but we couldn't save leftovers for her. We had planned on being able to get breakfast foods and sandwich fixings and keep in the refrigerator, so we were not expecting eat out for every single meal. Even breakfast was twice what we'd normally pay for an equivalent quality dinner most other places.

| Great swimming pools. The Sea View Terrace : superb view over the ocean, fantastic place to get a family drink or later a romantic cocktail. Take "Breakfast included" option, at Illima terrace, huge and good buffet with view on the ocean. Dondero's : well, actually they try too hard to impress you but lack natural in service (first time ever have been seated side by side for a romantic dinner...had backache at the end...) food is good, wine overpriced. TidePool restaurant is great, menu, style, had real good time dinning with children too. Feel really good after a week there.

| Go for the best salt water pools, views, and beach. The lobby and food service felt impersonal. Our beautiful, quiet, non-smoking room required that we walk 10 to 15 minutes to get to the lobby and pool. The hotel uses all eucalyptus toiletries, just like cough drops! We asked for another scent but no other was available. The only casual dining options were self-serve with fried, fast food. The hotel should add an informal restaurant with salads and sandwiches for lunch.

| The Grand Hyatt Kauai was spectacular. Once my boyfriend and I got to the hotel, the front desk was very quick and efficient. We were also pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the grand garden view at no extra charge. Although we couldn't see the ocean from our 1st floor lanai, our glass sliding doors opened to a gigantic lawn w/ a hammock held by two coconut trees. It was as if we had a yard! The dining experience at the Hyatt was also a treat. If you love seafood, you'll love their outdoor restaurant Tidepools, which is situated on a koi-filled lagoon. After our dinner, we were given fish pellets to feed the koi. But the restaurant we loved the most was the ultra-romantic Dondero's. I highly recommend the Lobster Piccata for dinner and Kiwi Sorbet for dessert. And of course, one of the best features of the hotel is its amazing pools and salt-water lagoon. We couldn't get enough of the waterslide and the small, romantic waterfalls. You'll be entertained for hours! Lastly, the spa at the Grand Hyatt was perfect. My favorite part was the semi-outdoor showers. It's as if you're showering in nature as you look up and see blue skies and you're mostly surrounded by rock and hanging vines. I highly recommend the Plush Papaya Polish and Massage, which includes a moment in their swiss shower (12 shower heads!). Although everything was quite pricey, every penny spent was worth it and we can't wait to go back!

| Splendid hotel and setting with immaculate upkeep, attention to detail and comfort. Good for luxurious relaxation. The grounds and extensive pools and lagoons are as good as advertised appearances. Rooms are large enough and very comfortable. Negatives are the high prices for anything you do or eat without a sense that the Hotel is trying to add any other value for all the money. Service during the crowded time (August) we visited was no better than average for lesser expensive places. The morning breakfast "deal" during that time meant long waits and herd mentality service. For us it was a negative to need to drive to outside restaurants though several are closeby. Overall the sheer beauty and setting make up for most of the negatives.

| My husband and I spent a week at the Hyatt in June 05. We will stay at no other place when we return to Kauai. The hotel was relaxing, fun, romantic and beautiful. Service was great too. We had a pretty active vacation so did not get to enjoy the hotel grounds as much as we might have liked but we managed to fit in a morning at the spa which was very relaxing. Yoga classes were a great start to the day. We ate a wonderful dinner at Tidepools.....everything was superb. I am still dreaming about this place and would go back in a heartbeat. Although the Hyatt may be considered expensive, it's worth every penny.

| The Hyatt on Kauai was wonderful but expensive. We spent six nights here on our honeymoon in May 2005. The grounds and lobby are beautiful. The lobby is open and airy, and many windows are open throughout the hallways, giving a feeling that you are not indoors. Unfortunately, the beach in front of the hotel is too dangerous for swimming. Drive to Poipu Beach Park nearby instead and rent some snorkel gear from the Nukumoi surf shop which is within walking distance to the beach. DINING: At the Hotel, we had the "Sunshine on Sale" package which included the excellent breakfast buffet in the Ilima Terrace restaurant. Without that, the breakfast is $25 per person. Both Dondero's and Tidepools were nice, but a bit below excellent. NOTE: Everything on Kauai was expensive. Gas was $2.65 a gallon, compared to $2.15 in Houston at the same time. Milk was $8 a gallon. But the beaches are sublime.

| This hotel is really beautiful and relaxing. If you want to get away and enjoy a relaxing time in a big luxurious place this is great. The only problem is if you're trying to see the whole island, the hotel is in a somewhat remote spot, so if you're doing the high adventure vacation you might want to go north or east. But the hotel and amenities were wonderful and the staff was great.

| The Hyatt's service was almost perfect: the concierge wasn't helpful on any of the occasions we asked about restaurants and events within the hotel. We loved the pool. It's swimming, rivers, hot tub island and slide were fantastic. The salt water lagoon was a delight. We purchased a partial-ocean view room, and it may as well been full-view. Some of the rooms in this category may not be positioned in the same perfect spot, but ours provided the best view of the sunrise each morning while looking at the ocean. It was great. The rooms are quite nice and well maintained. We are definitely going back. Worst part: Hyatt is an expensive selection.

| The Hyatt's grounds are nothing short of spectacular. With over 5 acres...yes, ACRES of pool area it was simply fabulous. Winding "rivers" take you from open areas, with hidden hot tubs. Be sure to look behind the waterfalls for secluded spots to share.... The staff was simply superb, greeting you by name at all times and going out of their way to make you feel comfortable. For a romantic evening, you may want to check out their "Share the Stars" program... You will have a VERY romantic dinner for two ON the beach, with you own personal wait staff. They also have a "picnic" basket program, that comes in a nice insulated pack with more than enough food for two... Enjoy.

When we asked to change rooms, they accomodated us with top floor center view of ocean. Could not have asked for more. 100% occupancy made rm svc very slow-45min for them to pick up the phone!
