This is an old hotel with an outdated heating/cooling system. Our room was very hot at all times, but no A/C was available because it was shut off for the winter season. We were serenaded all night by the sounds of the elevators and water in pipes.

Our room had no a/c. The room was very muggy and when you turned on the fan, only warm air blew out. As for the casino, we had to call the attendent 3 times for different machines because the coins would stick or were out of money. Several machines didn't work at all so we had to cash out and then go back to the cashier. We picked Horizon because it had PaiGow but the game wasn't open at all on Monday. We had to go to the other casinos. Only a few card stations were open and there were 3 people deep waiting to play specific games.

It was a good experience. The room was clean however, it was a tad chilly at night and there was no way to adjust the temperature with the thermostat we had. It wasn't working correctly. The pillows were too hard but it was in close proximity of the other casinos which had a much higher going rate. The comedy/magic show was OK at best.

I was very much concerned of getting quite a shabby hotel for the price I paid, but was very pleasantly surprised. They seemed to have fixed their problems with hot water and air conditioning. I was very pleased with service and definitely would book it again. There are much better properties in the area where you can stay, but so far this was the best deal you can get for your money.

Great location. Make sure when you book your room, that you don't want to be near the elevator it makes ALOT OF NOISE. Staff was very friendly and aloud us to participate in there employee party. chilly in hotel just something to keep in mind if you don't like the cold.

We saved money at this hotel, but the room was not in the best of shape - needed some repairs, and the air conditioning did not work the entire time we were there even after requesting that it be fixed. Hot water in bathroom took way too long to come on and shower did not stay warm enough. Restaurant service was excellent.

The room was nicely decorated, spacious and clean. The water temperature in the shower was barely luke warm. The room itself was very warm and using the air conditioning or opening the window did not help.

We enjoyed the hotel but we had teenagers running around in the hall yelling and banging doors until 1:30AM. We called security but the line just rang and rang.

There was a leak from the ceiling in the first room we got. The hotel refused to change room until I raised my voice. The window couldn't close all the way in the second room that we changed to. I basically gave up at that point and didn't bother to call the front desk. Personally I won't stay there again and think some well-known economic motel chains can do better than that.

Room was clean, but there was no control of the heat. We were there in January, it was snowing outside, and we had to keep the window open trying to cool off. The thermostat in the room did not change anything.

The Horizon Casino Resort Hotel is great in the winter since it is close to the Gondola and there is a ski rental place right in the premises.Staff are excellent. Only setback is that the rooms are old and needs some renovation.Lots of free parking is also a plus.

Overall the hotel was OK. There are two towers, I believe called the Alpine and Aspen towers. One is directly connected to the hotel; the other is connected via a breezeway. We were in the "breezeway" connected tower the first night. It was not a pleasant experience. We were moved to the other tower the second night which was far better. Had we not been moved, I would have rated this hotel far lower. Try to get in the main tower if at all possible.
