Just returned from a week's stay in Amsterdam and would highly remommed The Park Hotel. It is close to public transportation if you choose not to walk(but the best way to see the city), across the street from canal cruises, close to the main entrance to the city centre, around the corner from the Rijks and Van Gogh museums. The hotel staff is friendly and informative and always willing to assist.

We stayed at the Park Hotel in mid-February. We had never traveled to Amsterdam before, and we were very impressed with the hotel staff, our room, and the location of the hotel. It is very close to both the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, incredible restaurants, and wonderful shopping. The hotel location also offers extremely easy access to the public transportation system should you choose not to walk. We arrived in Amsterdam early on a Sunday morning. The hotel had been sold out the night before, so we were unable to check into our room early. We checked our luggage at the hotel and went out for a few hours until we could check in. When we arrived back to the hotel and our room was still unavailable, the hotel offered us a free upgrade so that we wouldn't have to wait any longer. After a nine hour flight, that was very much appreciated. I definitely recommend the Park Hotel & would absolutely stay there again.

I got in earlier than the actual check in time and was accommodated with a non-smoking room. It was one of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in but had a tall celing and the space is effectively used. A shower only that had several outlets - a wand, a regular over-head one, and two small waist-level ones. It took some getting used to but the water was hot and water pressure good so it made for a relaxing shower experince. When I first arrived I felt there was not enough heat so they brought up a large space heater which worked well.I ate the morning buffet each of the three days which is best if you get there early. The hotel is across from the Lido casino and a canal cruise place and a short walk to the Leidseplein tram stop.

The hotel staff was great! The rooms were small but they had awesome balconies. Our room overlooked the canal and we had a great view of the Hard Rock Cafe.

Good price-quality relation: the room was spacious and clean, breakfast and bar service were very good. Location was incredible: 5 minutes from museums and 20 minutes from Dam Square, walking distance from stores and boat tour.

This is a great place to crash at the ened of the night, but thats it. After a 6 hour flight, we arrived at the hotel and wanted to take a shower, only to find that the hotel was having a problem with its hot water. Anxious to get out and enjoy amsterdam, we took cold showers. Room service took 45 minutes to bring us 2 waters and 2 juices, and when they did get to the room , they forgot to bring the pillows we also requested. And the shower head broke off in the shower on our 2nd day. But, like I said...you don't go to amsterdam to hang out in a hotel. Not four-star quality....

The location was wonderful! The hotel was within walking distance to the Van Gogh museum (and other major museums) as well as major shopping areas (streets) and Dam Square. We enjoyed the lounge, the staff was very pleasant and this was a nice place to sit on a comfortable couch and relax after a day of sight seeing. The room we had was modest but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very nice.

The hotel is very well located, walking distance from the Rijks and Van Gogh mussem, in front of the Amsterdam Casino and connected to the rest of Amsterdam by tramps and boats that you take practically in the doorsteps of the hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Park Hotel for 3 days at the end of November 2004. The front of the hotel was under construction, but we knew this before reserving a room. We upgraded to the club room and were very impressed with the room. The room was in the old part of the hotel, but was well maintained and very clean. The room was two floors with the bed and bath on the top floor and a seating area and desk on the first floor. It also had a small outside balcony that had a great view of the canal. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants great location and comfort for a resonable budget.

Location is key for this hotel (near mueseums and park) so hence it's high price. You basically pay for location but not for quality of rooms/experience. The building of the hotel is nice but the rooms are seedy and smelly.

hotel was very clean staff very attentive. helped us book a couple of excursions, gave good tips about the city overall very pleasant. the only negative was the road being repaired in front of hotel ,we had to carry our bags across the street and when we left had to walk around the blockwith our bags alittle bit of a hassle. i would have no problem staying here again
