First of all I waited in line to check in for an hour, then we did't get in our room until 4:00 because the room was not ready at 3:00. Then the sideview suite room I booked 4 months in advance was already booked. So I got a so called sideview room were you had to strain to even see the ocean, plus it was right beside the loud waterpark. The pools were so cold my kids had to swim in the indoor pools in June. I had to also walk what seemed like a mile to even get to the beach, passing smelly drains, and a nasty water pipe that had water from I don't know where coming out of it. The maid keep our room really clean, but ate some of our food, I guess for a tip. I will never be back to this hotel...

The hotel was very decent. Housekeeping was great. Check in was smooth. Great place to spend a few days on the beach and relax.

This was one of the nicer hotels we have stayed at. The personnel working there were wonderful and our room was magnificent. We had 8 people with us and rented the three bedroom and it was wonderful. It was quiet even though we were there for Bike Week and there was special parking for motorcycles which was cool. Will stay there again. The breakfast was really good too.

This was a nice hotel. The lobby was nice, great food (restaurants) and easy access store within the hotel. The room was cramped, hard to walk around, bad lighting. The hotel staff were nice and helpful. Everything else was perfect.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, restaurants and pools, parking garage, reasonable price...just what I was looking for. Also, it was on the more family oriented end of Myrtle Beach instead of the cheaper, party end. There was a room mix-up (I was given a room that was already occupied), but it was fixed quickly and easily. I couldn't have been more satisfied.

The towels were not fresh. They were washed but they had a stale smell to them. The dishwasher was broken and could not be used for the first two days. The service guy was very nice. The air conditioning unit froze up and the temperature was above 80 degrees at 11:00 at night. The serviceman finished the repair at 12:30 a.m. (Myrtle Beach has a record high for that day!) Walking to the beach you had to pass by a smelly trash dumpster and service entrance, and water draining from who knows where. The garage had very poor lighting and inadequate number of spaces for the number of guests at the hotel. The check out time was ridiculous. After waiting for 15 minutes (I was the #2 person in line with 10 others behind me) I finally left.

After a mix up with our reservation, the manager at the front desk was very helpful. I can not say that for the other front desk clerks. If you have a problem go directly to the manager, skip those other front desk clerks. When we finally got to our room, is was nice and clean. They had a Easter Egg hunt for the kids and it was horrible, not very well planned out. My daughter got 1 egg. The swimming pools were nice and the waterpark was nice. None were heated pools. They could use more chairs by the pools. The workout room was nice but the changing room and sauna was lame. It was very little and not nice.

It is too bad that you cannot get a clean hotel room, hallways, and get housekeeping service to respond at this place. It could be a very enjoyable stay. The outdoor activities with a kids waterpark on the resort grounds and beach front view are very good. Unfortunately the room and remainder of the facility is unkept and dirty. We will not be back.

Had to call to get clean towels, previous occupants had eaten spaghetti as i could tell by the noodles left in the sink, overpowering smell of garbage... Most of the staff were standing around doing nothing but smoking or watching women. Guy at the help desk didnt even put his sandwich down while he was calling the staff to get me some clean towels.

I was so disappointed in The Sand Dunes Beach Resort. Don't try to get anyone to help you here. Book your own excursions and be prepared to do your own housekeeping. Be sure to bring plenty of clean towels with you and if you like coffee in the morning in your room, you better bring that too!

After reading a a few bad reviews, we were pleasantly surprised with our accommodations. The condo was clean and we were satisfied with the housekeeping services. We usually asked for minimal services but they would do what we needed on a given day. The children (2, 4, & 7) loved the waterpark. The worst thing was that some inconsiderate "guest" had sabotaged the elevators with dead fish/shrimp/crabs and they smelled terrible for a couple of days. Even with complaints from many, many quests, the staff was a little slow to clean it up -- but they finally did.

We went down on a bachelor party to play golf and party. We had 12 guys, 6 to each room, everybody getting their own bed. The room had plenty of space, two bathrooms, 2 balconies with ocean view, a large kitchen and living room with extra pull-out bed. The room was located away from the main building so we were able to be loud and not bother any of the other guests. The beach and pool looked very nice, but was too cold in April.
