We stayed here for over a week and were very satisfied. I suggest getting an oceanview room, ours was room 3151 and the view was so wonderful. Most of the staff was nice-would have liked the front desk to be more friendly. One of the gardners was wonderful!!! Look for food deals at the King Shop across the street. We had a great time at Hapuna beach-it you have teenagers this is a great place for them the boogie board.

Close mall shopping at the Kings Shops with nightly Hawaiian entertainment; pleasant surroundings; beach access ok, small beach, have to contend with the sand "berm".

This resort was great! They charge $15 a day resort fee that entitles you to all kinds of stuff. I appreciated the 2 Mai-Tais and access to snorkel equipment. The resort's beach has a great reef that I enjoyed daily. I thought the resort was set up great and I would love to go back.

The open-air lobby of the hotel is unbelievable with a beautiful view of the pool area and the beach. The hotel was under renovation but the renovations didn't bother us. Our room had not yet been renovated but was still clean and fresh. The snorkeling in the bay was amazing.

It's good that this hotel is undergoing renovations because it's pleasant but a little worn. The same could be said of the staff. Though nice, most seem to just be doing their jobs, with the exception of one bellman. The concierge had very out-of-date information about the volcanoes on the island. In addition, some of the wait staff in the hotels seem to be a bit tired. However, the rooms are clean, comfortable and nice and the resort offers a nice pool that is well suited for families. One brilliant part of the design of the hotel was to place the poolside dining next to the sand-bottomed children's pool. This allowed us to relax, have lunch and sip a cocktail while watching our child swim in the children's pool just a few feet from our table. The bay right outside the hotel is excellent for water sports and snorkeling--I easily spotted two giant sea turtles without having to go too far out in the water.

The Waikoloa Beach Marriott is a nice place with great ocean views. At the time of my visit, construction was taking place to expand the hotel, but it did not interrupt my visit. Future visitors should note that the Marriott charges a $15/day on top of your hotel bill for parking, use of facilities, etc, which I find annoying.

The hotel is going through renovation--we were not bothered by it--no noise or disruption of service other than the spa was closed. The beach was beautiful, the staff was friendly and very accomodating to any request. Ocean sports (located at A-bay beach) and the catamaran and crew of Sea Smoke are worth the trip. Crew very kid friendly.

The hotel had everything our family needed. The beach and pool were great. Best of all was the proximity to other beaches (Hapuna 10 min. drive), National Historical Parks (two within a half hour drive) and Hilo. Great time at a great place.

This was my second stay at this hotel and I can't wait to make reservations for another trip. Even though the hotel has a renovation project underway, it in no way interferred with the comfort and enjoyment of my stay. The staff was attentive with their service and if anything, having fewer guests provided for more attention (if you wanted). With A-Bay fronting the hotel, there was an opportunity to snorkel every day and to see a beautiful sunset every night. Kids of all ages will love watching the turtles that live in the bay. The mandatory daily hotel fee actually pays for itself if you make sure to read the quarter sheet of paper listing your freebies - internet service, valet parking, mai tais, etc...

Very pleasurable and relaxing environment. They will help arrange any outside excursions or events for you at a reasonable cost. They seem to have an in with the events people around the island so when you call on your own and are told that they are all booked up, the hotel can get you into any event or activity. Very friendly staff from top to bottom.

The hotel is right on a great sheltered beach and the King's shops right across the street provided us a great low-cost alternative for meals and sundries. Very satisfied with my choice of hotels. The only slight problem is that it is very far away from the volcanoes (2.5 - 3 hour drive). We tried a day trip to the volcanoes, but it ended up being a very long day.

I am sure at one point this was a very nice hotel, but it is definately in need of updating. We arrived after 11:00 P.M. and couldn't even buy a bottle of water! Plus what I was told (and I Paid for) was an ocean view room was at best a partial ocean view and that was only if you walked out on the balconey and sat in the far corner! I wouldn't choose this hotel again.

The staff was friendly and responsive. Clean rooms, nice grounds. Only issue - bed was fairly uncomfortable. We heard this was a common complaint, so along with redecorating, we understand they are changing out all the mattresses as well. That ought to let everyone sleep like a keiki (baby).

This hotel has the best location in the Big Island. It sits right at the beautiful Anaeho'omalu Bay (A-Bay) which is a great snorkeling bay with calm waters, nice sandy beach and gorgeous sunsets. The hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere. The room we stayed at was roomy compared to most standard hotel rooms. We visited the other resorts in Waikoloa and the others up the Kohala coast but found the Marriott and its location to be better. The pools are geared more for kids but we still had fun.
