Our family of four recently stayed here while we were in Chicago. It was very easy for us to walk to the train station (or you can drive to the station and park for $3.00) and get into the loop. Our breakfast at the Benchmark Restaurant was very good and our 5 year old daughter ate for free. There are plenty of great options at the buffet. My wife and I were able to use the workout room and watch our kids in the pool at the same time through the glass walls. The beds are very comfortable and allow a great nights sleep. Just be sure to tell kids not to touch the items in the in-room snack bar. They are electronically monitored. I would recommend this hotel as a home base to see Chicago.

My husband and I enjoyed the ambience and decor of the West O'Hare. Although it is a very large hotel, the noise levels were at minimum and the efficiency of the staff both in the restaurant and bar and at the front desk, made it easy to forget that there were other guests to take care of besides us. The beds/bedding were especially relaxing and comforting.

The service was great and they were really understanding about the fact that we took everything out of the mini bar to try to fit a pizza box inside and then got charged for the contents (they revoked the charges - whew!) The fresh fruit in the lobby was also nice. I do wish the hotel bar had stayed open a little bit longer, but hey, just because we're staying all night, the employees probably don't want to, so I got over it...

I was very impressed with the Westin Hotel. The staff was very friendly and informative about the happenings in Chicago. The hotel is conveniently located near O'Hare Airport. We were able to walk to nearby restaurants as well as the train station to get downtown. The presence of police patrol made walking about at night even safer. I would definitely recommend this hotel to travelers and look forward to future reservations at the Westin O'Hare.

A four-star hotel for such a low price? Yes, and there are several catches: 1) It's close to the airport, which is good, but it's 35 minutes by train to the city. Go twice in a day and that's over 2 hours gone from your leisure time. Good: the hotel shuttle will take you to the train station, but you'll probably have to wait for that, too. 2) The only restaurant in the hotel that was ever open was pricey, $18.50 per person just for breakfast, gratuity not included. The cafe was never open while we were there, and the lounge shut down before 10 each night. 3) Don't move anything in the mini-bar.

I was pleased to get an excellent rate for a 4-star hotel. The Westin beds are better than we had heard. We did not want to leave them! Fitness facility is excellent, although one evening someone left puddles of water in there after swimming. :( Several elliptical machines and treadmills, and a full line of weightlifting machines and dumbbells. The pool and spa are nice, with a view of driving/hurrying motorists. Makes you feel relaxed just looking at them.

The Westin O'Hare has one of the best computer set-ups I've ever seen for a hotel. Right off the lobby is a big, square table with 4 computers. Printers are in the drawers of the desk and there is a copy area off to the side. Not an elaborate "business center" like a lot of hotels catering to busines travelers but it works!!

The Westin at O'Hare, like other Westins I've stayed at is clean, friendly, and attractive. The only negatives that I can come up with are in regards to dining opportunities. There is no cafe facility which is available during regular hours that is reasonably priced. There are no near restaurants, so dining out is an expensive cab ride.

Very nice hotel with an upscale lobby and courteous staff. I attended a show at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. It was a bit of a hike to the convention hall but worth it because of its much closer proximity to the restaurants than the other hotels. Right around the corner are 2 restaurants. I had an awesome steak dinner at The Rosewood. Next to that is a more casual pizza place with authentic Chicago-style deep dish. If you must, there is also a McDonald's within stone's throw. The heavenly bed was excellent and the room was clean. I slept like a rock. I was disappointed that I had to pay extra for internet access (and it wasn't even wireless!) I also felt nickel and dimed by the charge for the warm bottle of water on the dresser. Thought they could have thrown that in with the high room rate.

I always seek out Westin, because the beds and the bathrooms are fabulous. In the Westin Ohare, this is the case too. The hotel gym facilities are also quite nice -- new equipment and enough of it. Plus, I got a massage planned at the last minute, and the spa stays open late -- until 10PM. My one complaint is that there isn't much to choose from for eating -- the cafe has a very limited menu and the dining room seems too formal for a quick bite.

Nice bathroom - good shower, big shower area, cosmetic mirror, soft lighting so you don't look like death warmed over. Courteous staff. Spacious rooms (I was able to do yoga) with wall-to-wall window area. Full length mirror in dressing area. Good for business travelers - hi speed, work area, sofa, safe, valet, shuttle, decent restaurant and separate bar with flat screens for games.

The hotel was nice, especially for being so old (they were celebrating their 75th anniversary). Having worked in hotels before, the level of upkeep was tremendous! HOWEVER. . . their main restaurant was absolutely Horrible. We ordered the Prime Rib Special ($39.99 per person), medium rare. I have NEVER had such a tough prime rib in my life! My hands were actually cramping up trying to cut it! (at 31 years old, I do not have weak or arthritic hands!) Our baked potatoes were dry, dry, and rock hard. We didn't comlain to the manager, because we just didn't want the bother.

We had seen the ads for the "Heavenly" Westin experience, and thought "yeah, sure" but we were more than impressed by this hotel. The service was friendly and efficient (although they could have used a couple more staff at the front desk) and the room was more than we could have asked for. The bed and shower were truly Heavenly! If we should ever return to the O'hare area, we will certainly choose this hotel again.

Stayed Friday and Saturday. My Friday stay was pretty comfortable. However the wedding party they booked on saturday was as rowdy as I have ever seen. There people people hollering at each other till 3:30 am in the hallways. Doors were slamming every 5-10min. intervals. As I called the front desk at about 2:00 am., they sounded as if they had no control over the situation as the noise and loud music coming from the rooms till morning hours. I would've got out of there if I was not traveling with a small child. By far, one of the worst experiences I've had for a long time. Not expected from Westin brand.

No help for any guests from security or any staff. All guests including children and elderly were left to get themselves back to rooms. Piercing alarms went off and on for two hours!

They are on a sensor, once you touch them you are immediately charged an outrageous amount for them. Didn't know this until after we touched!!

I really liked the fact that they allow dogs. However in the future I'd suggest if people make reservations specifying they have a dog, allow them a lower floor room. It's quite a chore going up and down the elevator and the long walk through the lobby just to take the pup outside.
