This hotel was even nicer than I was expecting. The staff was great, and it offered a lot. My husband and I especially loved the pool. It was gorgeous! It was also nice being right up next to Black Rock...great snorkling. Thumbs up!

We stayed here for our wedding and honeymoon and very much enjoyed our stay. The beds are the most comfortable ones I have ever experienced. I will mention two complaints. I reserved a King size bed and we had to settle for 2 double beds. Also, having to rent beach chairs was disappointing. I guess I am used to resorts in Cancun where they are free to guests. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

The Sheraton Maui is a top notch resort in the best beach location on Maui. Everything at this hotel was superior, from the check in, the rooms, and the food. First, our check in was excellent. We received our lei greeting immediately and checked in withing minutes. The rooms were fantastic as well. The beds were super comfortable!! I also really liked that we were able to book tours directly through our hotel. The other nice thing is that there was an Enterprise rental car right in our hotel! So the one day we wanted to rent a car, we just had to call down to Enterprise and they brought the car around for us. The only drawback to the Hawaii experience was the price of food. However it was extremely expensive to eat anywhere on Maui...not just at our hotel.

We absolutely love the Sheraton Maui and would highly recommend it to anyone!! My husband and I have stayed here on 2 different occasions and both times upon check-in, we've received room upgrades. In May '06 we stayed in bldg. 6, which had fantastic views of the ocean ~ all I can say is WOW! The grounds are beautiful, the service is great, and the snorkeling off of their beach is the best! (Would advise reserving the beach cabanas prior to arrival or upon check-in if you plan to spend the day on the beach ~ they go quickly!) Another bonus is the Sheraton's location ~ it's within walking distance to the Whaler's Village shopping area as well as the fun restaurants along the beach. We particularly enjoyed going to the Hula Grill at sunset... another favorite restaurant in Lahaina was PacificO's. We can't wait to plan our next trip to Maui ~ aloha ;-)

Excellent beach. Excellent location. Very family friendly atmosphere. Excellent service. If it's in the budget, one should not miss it. We will go back to same place when we go to maui. No negatives to mention. Extra spending was worth it as the beach and snorkeling spot was right there. (We had Ocean front room)

The hotel was charging $10-15 to beach chairs and umbrellas for guests. I have been to many resorts around the world and I found that that is such a cheap act on behalf of such a well established Sheraton company. Guests are already paying considerable amount of money and they all deserve at least a chair on the beach from the resort.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton Maui. The hotel is by far the best one in the area. The beach and pool was great, perfect location. Our two drawbacks was the service at the sundowner bar at the pool. The poolside drink/food service took forever. We finally had to go to the bar to get our own drinks, because our waiter too busy. Both of us also got food posioning at the prime rib buffet dinner, however the restaurant manager was very good about comping our meal and checking to see if we were okay. Besides the two setbacks, our stay at the Sheraton was wonderful. All the employees were always smiling and helpful (except the waiter at the pool) and we would go back. Also the snorkeling at the hotel is awesome, best location. We stayed in the deluxe oceanfront room and you could see the whales and seaturtles from the balcony. The beds in the room were extremely comfortable. All in all it is a great hotel.

the rooms need to be updated and refurbished. I expected a little more out a four star rating. I also thing the pictures on the web must be old and don't give you a really good idea of the hotel. I only ate the food there once cause I got sick on it my first day. Not impressed at all with the drinks or service out by the pool. The bed was extremely comfortable and since that is what I used the room most for to sleep it was okay. Bathroom tubs and tile need to be redone.

We had a great family vacation. The hotel staff gave impecable service. The location is perfect. The only down side was the lack of lower cost food options at the hotel. Our stay at the Sheraton Maui in April 2006 was excellent. This was our first time to this property and we were very pleased. We were upgraded from on Ocean View to a Deluxe Ocean View without asking. The grounds and facilities were well maintained and very relaxing. Despite the large families retreating for spring break, this was the quietest spot on Kaanapali. The beach is perfect and the pool was nice although cold. Housekeeping was speedy with special requests although the front desk staff and operator were a bit short (no "my pleasure" but just "OK", or a quick transfer with no acknowledgement). A little training and compassion could push them into the superior category. The bowed out shower curtain rod was a nice touch giving more room to roam in the standard tub/shower space. Only one sink in the bathroom but nice marble counter top. Empty mini-fridge and counter area was nice. Bed was super comfortable. If you are looking for a peaceful place on Kaanapali with tastefully decorated rooms this is your hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay. We spent a lot of time in and around the pool. The food was great. We had an excellent waiter for breakfast who made sure we didn't want for anything. The Waiters/Waitresses and bartenders were great. The front desk and concierge however, always seemed "Put Out",would hold personal conversations with each other while tending to guests, and seemed limited in their knowledge of eateries and events.

The most comfortable bed I have ever had in a hotel and floffy soft towels in the bathroom. The pool is huge with lots of places to get lost and the daily koi feeding at 10am was great fun. Snorkeling right there by the lava rocks you may even run into sea turtles!

Upon arrival we were upgraded to an oceanview room, which was a pleasant surprise and the view was awesome. The room was nothing out of the ordinary, but since we did not come to Maui to hang out in a hotel room, that was not a problem. We rented cabanas most of the days that we spent on the beach and highly recommend that. The staff at the Sheraton was great. Everyone was friendly and helped whenever you asked. The pool was ok, except on the weekend when we were outnumbered by kids. The staff at the pool was rather slow, but it did seem as they were constantly understaffed with cocktail servers. Snorkeling was great at Black Rock. Just a tip, though, if you are on your honeymoon, as we were, be prepared for quite a few kids. I did not think that we would have so many families with children at the end of August, but there were quite a few. We would definitely stay at the Sheraton again!!

Apparently, the Sheraton was one of the first hotels built in Kaanapali and it shows. The lobby area is nice with a gorgeous view, but small. Our first room was musty and everything in it was damp. We were moved to another room, which was identical to the first without the mustiness or dampness. The bathrooms were extremely outdated. Overall, the room just showed a lot of wear and tear. The bellman said another wing had recently been renovated, but the one we were in had been renovated 7 or 8 years ago. The balconies in both rooms were so tiny, one chair and one small table barely fit on it. However, the partial ocean view was decent. The beach area was nice, but was taken over at least twice during the week by cruise ship passengers who snorkel and use drink vouchers at the Sheraton pool bar/restaurant. The restaurants seemed nice - we only ate at Teppan Yaki Dan's - but extremely overpriced. If you want a more reasonable, good-sized breakfast, go to Mango's down the street.

This was our first trip to Maui, and we found it a great place to relax. The Sheraton has a great location. You can rent snorkel gear and actually snorkel right in front of the hotel in the black rock they have there, right off their beach. It's also a quick walk to shopping. The pool is great for families. As a side note, I don't recommend the road to Hana, unless you love leisurely drives. It is very winding, so if you tend to get carsick, you will. And Hana is nothing special. So, the town itself isn't worth a 3 hour drive just to get there.

The rooms are nice and spacious, the view was beautiful form my "upgraded room" Although the place is like a maze We had to talk 3 elivators to get from our room to the main pool/restaurant area. Snorkle rental is very expensive $30 per day (snorkle BOB in Lahaina is 20 something per week.) If you are really into diving the black rock is not really the place to go. I have been told go to mile marker 14 for better diving. What out for the $5 charge for the water bottle they put in your room. The black rock lighting serimony is a little of a let down. The consierge was very good and had some good advice (especialy about the road to Hana)

My wife and I went to Maui for the first time for our 10 year anniversary. We went with very high expectations and most of them were met!!!! The Shearton is an excellent hotel, with great rooms, views, pool, beach, etc. We were rather disappointed with the service and food quality in both resteraunts for dinner, but the buffet breakfast and service was great! Shearton kept their Service Promise to us during these bad circumstances, and refunded half our money we spent on the meals that did not quite match up to the rest of our experiences there. Dinners at the hotel were pricy and you could go off site for meals that were much higher in quality and with outstanding service for the same (or less) money. I would definitely recommend the Shearton to any one looking for a great hotel and experience, just do not eat dinner there.

We planned our arrival to be early in the day so we could get checked in and have a full first day. When we arrived at 1:00 pm, our Deluxe Ocean View room had only a very tiny partial view and was dirty, missing furniture, air conditioner rattled, etc. After much ado and hours spent waiting in the room for a response from the front desk, we were told that they would try to move us the next day, but no guarantee. They did move us and the new room had a glorious full view. However, this hotel has condition problems both inside and out for one that is so pricey. We will stay there again, but next time we will take a cheaper, Garden View room. Great beach!
