| Extremely nice place. Here are 2-free tips (and worth every penny): 1) I took my wife there for our 10-year anniversary (and ditched our kids with "Gammy"). However, they could have come along, because this resort is EXTREMELY kid friendly, with activities all day long. 2) If this is a special occasion, be sure to let them know!! I mentioned that this was for our 10th wedding anniversary at check-in, and they gave us a complimentary upgrade to a suite right along the golf course. I could have never afforded this room on my own, so needless to say my wife was very stoked on her hubby!!!

| I'm generally not a fan of "upscale" resorts; I generally just prefer to do it all (park, bags, etc.) myself, but La Costa was the exception... very pleasant and helpful staff and an extremely relaxing atmosphere. A delightful escape!

| Very nice stay. I was at a confrence. We never left the place and never needed to. The rooms were very comfortable and the surroundings were great. What made it a great place to stay was the staff. For example, we had a fellow conference member with a sprained ankled and the bell hop desk was very helpful with shuttle rides around the resort. I am only sad I did not have time to enjoy the golf course as well. Food was good but not spectacular and definitely overpriced. If you can't leave I guess the price is worth it for convenience; otherwise go outside.

| What a beautiful location! We didn't eat at the resort; the room service prices were way too high. We also didn't bother to check the prices of the restaurants on site. You need a rental car if you want to leave the resort since its quite a hike to anything, but that worked fine for us. It's easy to find your way around and there's plenty of restaurants, shopping, and the beach close by. We thoroughly enjoyed our room and the surroundings.

| I liked the hotel except for 2 things: 1. Getting to the front desk - you have to walk about 100 yards from the valet parking station. 2. Room service is very expensive (but food was good) $28 for a 2 egg breakfast.

| I highly recommend this hotel. Although it is only 1 1/2 to 2 hours away, it felt like we had went to a nice island. The grounds are nice, the rooms were nice and spacious, the bathrooms were beautiful and spacious with a ownderful bathtub, and the spa was wonderful as well. My husband and I had a great time. The room service was even good and prompt. We dined at the Bluefire Grill on the grounds and the food was delicious. We will defintely be back!!

| WE stayed at La Costa in October. Everything about the hotel was first class, except the resort fee was kind of a rip off. Spa is completely overpriced. Close to the ocean and other attractions. Lots of walking. Beds very comfortable and the rooms large and very clean.

| I visited La Costa for my 45th birthday which was September 2nd. I had read the reviews as was a bit weary at first but took the plundge anyway and am so glad I went with my first mind. I made reservations for the Spa Room I did inquire about the construction that was going on and was told that it was not near these particular rooms However, when I went to check in I was told that it was an area where there was noise from the construction. As you could imagine I wasn't very happy. I have to say they made a great recovery by upgrading me to a suite which had both a living room and bedroom both of which had patios off them. From that point on everything was great. We did brunch on Sunday followed by a message at the Spa. If you are going to visit La Costa take advantage of the SPA it was a great experience. It shoud be noted that this is a very family friendly resort so there were a lot of kids there during my stay didn't bother me much but if you don't do kids it could be an issue. Me personally I am coming back with my two year old as I was impresses by the activities they had planned for the kids.

| The hotel was great! The only thing that sucks is the parking. They are so far away from the room that either you stop by the main entrance and ask for a golf cart to follow you to the parking so park and then walk to your room. Also the main entrance where you check in/check out is also the main club house for the golfers. So lot of traffic over there.

| After reading all the reviews, I was very hesitate to choose this hotel. But at last minute, I still picked it, and hoped I would have a better luck. We are family with 2 young children, and we stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Unfortunately, the first night is very unpleasant. We got to the hotel at 7:00pm, and was told the room with two queen beds wasn't ready in a few hours. My other choice was a room with a king bed and they can give us a rollaway bed. We were ok with it. We then went to the restaurant at the hotel around 8:00pm. We were told that without reservation we had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. We then went to the other grill and bar restaurant in the hotel, and finally were seated outside. But it took 30 minutes or so to have the food. The restaurant was very expensive, and the food was just average. We went back hotel room around 10pm, and found out the rollaway bed still wasn't there. After a dozen phone calls, the bed finally came after 11pm. When our family finally settled down sleeping, we were woken up and found they sent another rollaway bed after midnight. The brighter side of our stay is that our kids did enjoy the family pool. It is very good for young kids. Overall, I would say the hotel may try to do a good job, but due to their big size, they have some problem to manage their service.

| What a great place for some rest and relaxation! The resort grounds are beautiful and tranquil. The new Bluefire Grill Restaurant is fabulous. The spa is incredible and not to be missed. The service is the best I've had anywhere. There are many activities for families, too. Go if you can.

| 1. One day my bathroom was not cleaned at all and the towels were not changed 2. The bathroom had no waste basket 3. The room had no major overhead light, which made it very dim These things aren't much to complain about, but in a property like this you pay for perfection

| Trying to check in to this hotel is very confusing. I drove up to the entrance, and guys performing valet service ignored me the whole time. I finally had to get out of my car in the middle of the street and ask for help. The spa was nice, but the staff was not very helpful or friendly. Room service menu limited.

| The hotel, golf course and spa were all top notch. The setting and the rooms were lovely. Our complaints were that the grounds were VERY spread out making the accessibility to all the hotel amenities very inconvient, and the hotel was under construction during our stay and that was not shared with us when we made our reservations. The hotel offers shuttle services to accomodate for the long walks to all the facilities. The Spa was tremendous. The service throughout the hotel was pleasant, helpful and accomodating. The setting was beautiful and the property was very convenient for quick day trips around San Diego.
