| This hotel is perfect if one's only purpose in London is to make an early morning plane out of London. It makes changing planes at LGW so much easier than is the case with off-airport hotel locations. I would recommend it to anyone just needing a place to stay overnight in transit. They get your to your room very quickly and are equally efficient on check out. A good choice!

| Very convenient for Gatwick but very overpriced. There were minimum comfort items in room. Shampoo and soap only, one tea bag per person and no means of heating water. I expected more for the price.

| Nothing fancy. A bit pricey for what you get, but as we were looking for convenience for an overnight stay between flights, this definitely met the requirements. The front desk guys were just OK - not rude, just ok. the hotel looked pretty nice. It is located just off othe terminal of Gatwick so we could grab our luggage and check in then get up in the morning and check in for our next flight. Worked out perfect.

| This was a wonderful experience. We had never stayed right in an airport before....but would now definately try and stay at this hotel again. It was nice to be able to just get up and walk into the airport terminal with out having to wait/catch a cab and also pay a cab to get to to the airport.

| I use the Strand Palace when I attend an annual meeting at the LSE, just a 5 minute walk away. It is convenient, and as London Hotels go, not too expensive. I took the Club Room, which costs a little more, and the room and single bed still felt small, but it was quiet, the service was good, and the breakfast is very filling.

| I've now used this hotel twice on nights before early morning trans-Atlantic flights and it has been worth every penny. It means that I can sleep easier (and in a quiet, very comfortable room) knowing that I am just a few meters away from the check-in desk for the airline -- no last minute traffic delay surprises causing me to miss a flight! I can wake just before needing to check-in and have an invigorating hot massage shower (or two!). (I relish the soap - it really wakes me up and prepares me for being stuck on a stuffy, stale-air plane for 9 hours.) And while I re-pack my luggage, I eat breakfast, and check the news and flight delays or cancellations from the television. Although there are numerous restaurants available in the hotel, I have preferred to return through the tunnel to the North Terminal and pick up a cheaper meal. That being said, the meal prices at Sofitel's restaurants are in keeping with this class of hotel, so no complaints there. Highly, highly recommended... I'll definitely stay here again the next time I fly out of Gatwick!

| Go for the executive room...better bed, flat screen TV, free drinks/canapes and free soft drinks/juice/water in frig. Also for an airport view. I always stay here upon arrival from the overnight flight and before departure....just a walk through a covered tunnel/walkway from the North Terminal (Delta/British Airways, etc.) to the Sofitel. VERY convenient and very comfortable stopover hotel. Very friendly staff and easy to walk back/forth to the terminal for food/drug store/sundries, etc. Love the place...not good for a long stay, but for a 1 night stay it is fine. Gatwick Express train right at the airport is great to get to central London in 30 minutes...very easy even for the inexperienced travelor!

| We checked into the hotel late in the evening since we had to fly back to the states the next morning. To our surprise, the requested 2 twin beds room was upgraded to a larger family room with 1 full size bed, 2 twin beds, PLUS a sofa bed! The view from our room was spectacular---it overlooked the hotel lobby, filled with water fountains and restaurant/bar view. If only our stay was longer because we really enjoyed the beautiful hotel and friendly service (compared to our experience in Paris the day before)!
