This cozy and really beautiful hotel offered the finest service I've ever experienced. It's located less then 10 minutes from the convention center where my meetings took place in the heart of downtown ($6 taxi ride). It's also a 15 minute walk from Thomas Circle where there's excellent dining (I ate at Thai Titanic, delicious and inexpensive) and jazz bars (I highly recommend HR57 on 14th Street). Of course I wouldn't have know about these places if it weren't for the night manager on duty who recommended them to me- very nice person. Overall this hotel is extra clean, extra comfortable, extra convenient, with extra gracious employees and the price is seriously affordable. I will definitely stay there again the next time I'm in D.C.

I like staying places less crowded when I travel for work (and anytime, really). All day you are busy working, mingling, etc. with noises coming at you from all directions. Staying here in this small hotel, with the calming colors, low key atmosphere, and the really comfortable bed, really hit my personal mark for a great place to stay. The only caveat is that while I was there, they were in the process of ripping up carpet, etc., which will enhance the space but made it look a little rough while it was happening. Another note--this was actually the cheapest stay in the area--my colleagues paid over 40% a night more in a hotel three minutes walk from mine! And the metro (red line) is just a quick four block walk. Also importantly, there is free wireless internet in all the rooms.

Hotel is close to the metro but you can walk to all the downtown sites within 15 minutes or so. The room was nicely kept with decent toiletries and a very comfortable bed with thick soft comforters. Would go back.

Small, historic inn near DC's convention center. Yes its a little old, but the room was roomy, nice, simple, and clean. The bed was excellent and the bathrooms were in great condition. The hotel staff and the bellman were excellent. A couple of blocks to the convention center. A couple more to a plenty of dining experiences.

The Morrison-Clark was average (but good average) in my humble opinion. My wife and I stayed there for two nights. The outside and inside of the building is very pretty. I had a problem with my Expedia reservation (I forgot to hit the confirmation button) and since I was inconvenienced (my own fault) they gave us a suite. No do not get me wrong, I enjoyed the suite, but it was pretty small. Other than the size of the room - the hotel was very nice/quaint. We had a balcony, but since it was March and about forty degrees outside and windy we did not spend too much time out there. The location of the hotel can not be beat. You are walking distance to Chinatown, Dupont Circle and the Whitehouse (if you are in good shape and do not mind walking about a mile to each location). The Metro Center train stop is also only a few hops away. The last day of our trip we went downstairs for breakfast. The food was pretty good. So overall - it was a nice hotel. While I would stay there again, I would also like to see what else DC has to offer.

Lots of feather pillows, actual keys to rooms and Victorian charm, this old-fashioned inn in the up and coming Mt. Vernon Neighborhood offers comfort and elegance at a reasonable price in the hustle of Washington DC. A few blocks from the convention center, this inn is also only a few blocks from the Metro. The restaurant is cozy and offers a gourmet menu that surprises and delights.

After reading other reviews, I expected our room to be super tiny. It wasn't large, but it was fine for two people, and the bathroom was very big. The service was excellent and the hotel location was, for us, within walking distance of the mall and other places we wished to go. Also, we ate at the hotel restaurant, outside, and we were the only couple to sit outside that evening...so we had a scrumptious, romantic dinner on the courtyard for our first anniversary. I'd recommend this to others!

The only thing I liked from the hotel was the cleanliness of my room and its location, which was relative close to the major sights in DC. As far as service, a bad service on the continental breakfast and not a lot of information on museums schedules, bus schedules, festivities on town, and restaurants list that will help a firt time visitor.

I've stayed in hotels around the world and was very impressed. I was a little nervous about it at first since it only had 3 stars and the price was incredibly low for a hotel of this quality in DC, but was pleasantly surprised. If you get tired of chain hotels and love diversions, this is a great place! Perfect location when doing business downtown or on the Hill - it's only a 5 minute cab ride to both. Service was outstanding and very personal. Will stay here time and time again.

I prefer smaller boutique hotels and my recent stay at the Morrison Clark was very enjoyable. The rooms are comfortable and charming, the staff is friendly, and the location can't be beat. Didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant this time, but have previously and the food is excellent. And, you can unwind with a glass of wine in front of a roaring fire before.
