| The staff was very friendly and provided top-notch service and advice. Many great places to eat in the hotel with very relaxing atmospheres. We spent 10 days at this hotel and had a great time. Remodeling was being done in certain areas, but it was not a problem at all.We would recommend staying at the Outrigger Reef.

| I would recommend this hotel. The room was quite comfortable and clean. Has nice restaurants and bars, pool, right on the beach, shops. Really could not have asked for more. Because it is at one end of the beach it is a bit of a hike to the International Market and Zoo but if you are not in a hurry - it is a nice way to spend the day. I would definetly stay here again.

| hotel is excellent, esp for price. location is excellent, just on the north end of waikiki beach. walking distance to everywhere. area around hotel is under extensive renovation/construction for new hotels, but you can't hear the noise from hotel room. we ended up staying the last night in a much more expensive hotel to splurge three hotels down from the outrigger, but the quality and service was comparable, so recommend the outrigger since price can't be beat.

| Staff was friendly, courteous, and served all needs in a timely manner. Good food in all 3 restaraunts, and at reasonable prices as well. Activities center was helpful, and well informed at the services which were offered. View from Lanai in the 'City View' room was good, except for the local construction going on, but not a fault of the hotel, all in all it was a minor bother. I would stay here again, and would suggest it to friends as well.

The tower closest to the beach was under a complete remodel. The food at the hotel restaurants was good and the prices fair.

| The staff at the hotel are friendly, experienced, and will do everything they can to make your stay as memorable as possible. There is a news letter sid under your door every day, welocming all the new guests and outlining what activities are available weekly and daily. They offer classes (Hula lessons, Ukelele lessons, etc). Twice a week they offer couples the chance to renew their marriage vows (Hawaiian style of course) on the beach. The hotel is on the beach so there is easy access tot he beach. The restaurants are clean, offer good food, and friendly staff. My husband and I will stay here again when we return.

| This is a great hotel to stay at, right on the beach very close to downtown. The only problem that we had this trip was that they are doing so much construction to the surrounding area that it wasn't to pleasant to look or walk through when going uptown. We asked the hotel staff and they said they "should" be completed by October, it looks like it will be VERY nice once done....lots of shops and restaurants. They are also still renovating some of the hotel so there is some areas roped off for the work being done to the rooms. It looked like they were working on most of the rooms that were on the beach side, not sure when that will be done but they said once completed it will be more of a resort type of hotel. Overall Reef on the beach is a great place to stay, very affordable for staying right on the beach! Wonder if that will change once construction is completed?

I read some of the reviews before going and was a little bit skeptical, but we were very impressed and had a wonderful stay at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach. Very relaxing and very convenient. The pool, lobby, elevators, restaurants, beach...etc. all very close and fast. We would definitely stay there again.

| Awesome location, walking distance to everything in Waikiki. Parking a little high, $18 a day(valet only) but with unlimited ins and outs. Lots of construction and a bit noisy at times in first building by the front road. Ocean building has better views if you really care but we just used it to clean up and sleep. Had 2 full size beds and just put them together to be one big bed ;) Different demonstrations in the mornings (make your own lei, etc)Don't just stay in your hotel. Go out, have cocktails, relax, and enjoy all the sites. See the sunrise at least once and the sunset from N.S., hiking in forest can mean muddy shoes and calves! Enjoy!

| The hotel is very nice and the view is fine if you are facing the pool, the ocean or the park. This hotel is very close to an apartment building and many rooms face the side (and balconies) of the other building - maybe 30 feet away or less. Also there is a lot of construction happening in nearby buildings. My parents room faced a building which was being torn down and the bulldozers started up at 6:00 am every morning.

| We just got back from Hawaii last 5/8/06, we stayed at this beautiful hotel. We were blown away of its location since we weren't expecting a lot because of the price we paid. The hotel registration is very friendly and helpful. The pool is nice and the service from everyone down to the maid is pleasant. I recommend this hotel to everyone on a budget, save your money for other important things such as especial shows and tours. This hotel is close to the army museum which is free, and walking distance to everything including cheap moped and car rentals. I will definitely stay here again when I go back to Oahu.

For instance there is a charge for parking if you rent a car and there is also a charge for making phone calls, however you can recieve them for free. Other than that the place was great except for the construction across the street. The restaurants were nice and the food was awesome. The people were very nice and easy going. I would definately go back.

| We stayed at The Outrigger on the Reef from April 25th- 30th 2006. We had an 8th floor, partial ocean view room. The room was clean, but could use some updating. We could hear tiolets flushing from the room next door, but otherwise it was very quiet...you couldnt hear people talking or anyother noises. I was worried about the size of the bathrooms, since I had read reviews saying they were really small, but ours was normal size, with a very normal shower, big enough for two even. Room service was not cheap, but the food was good. We were not impressed with the Shorebird downstairs..who wants to cook your own food while you're on vacation? And the food on their buffet was very average. We were much happier with the Ocean House next door or the Cheif's Hut(that's where room service comes from too.) On the night we had our anniversay dinner at the Ocean House they made sure we had a sea side table. We sat and watched the sun set from our table, then at about 8pm (on friday night) we watched the fireworks that another hotel puts on. It was very pretty, the service was good, the food was great. We were very happy with the hotel from the minute we checked in....no compliants at all.

| Our recent stay at the Outrigger Reef almost ruined our Hawaiian vacation. The room was very small and very delapidated. The bathroom was scary. It was a "truckstop" type experience. The worst room I've ever seen. Complained to the management, to no avail. Will NEVER stay there again. Supposedly a 3.5 hotel, not even a 1.

| The rooms are in dire need of updating. Bedspreads, upholstery, carpeting etc. were stained and worn, furniture was out of date, bathroom was very dated. However, the room was very large and it was very clean. The lobby was also very elegant, and I liked the services the hotel had to offer. The restaurants, shops, beach etc. were more than adequate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, all of this did not compensate for the shabby room. The location is pretty good.

| This was my third trip to Honolulu in a six year period and my first time staying at the Reef on the Beach. It is a perfectly located hotel right on Waikiki Beach and close to shopping and eating areas within walking distance, or a short cab ride. We had a partial ocean view room, or should I say we had a full pool view room, Our room was orginally on the 12th floor, but i was more then disappointed when I got to it, it was a standard room with no lanai and it was filthy looking with stains in the room, so we upgraded for a pretty hefty charge for our other room, and I was much more pleased. The room was still mediocre but I could deal with it for a week. It was our honeymoon/wedding destination and we got complimentary champhange which was nice and I thought "Wow, thats neat they remembered" I briefly mentioned it while checking in. Overall our stay was pleasant, I wouldn't stay there again only because my husband is active duty military and we can stay very cheap at the military hotel next door to the Outtrigger.

| Clean, nice hotel right on Waikiki beach. Always enjoy casual dining at Shorebird restaurant. Withing minutes of arriving we were sitting at a table next to the beach listening to the live 2 man band playing old hits, having drinks and eating sashimi. Our room was simple and clean with a very nice city view from the lanai and a tiny, narrow view of the beach. Only problem we had was being right next to the elevators/noise, but since we were busy all the time we were in Hawaii, it was not a problem, because we were always asleep within minutes of being in the hotel.
