I stay at the Omni most times I am on business in NY. Normally, it is great. This time, because of massive reconstruction at a neighboring multistory building at the back of the hotel, the first night was horrible...noise began at 6:30 am (3:30 am PDT where I live). The hotel staff was very accommodating in changing our room: higher floor and other side. Still, it is a small hotel, so be aware of your neighbors. The bar is small but nice; I haven't tried the restaurant, preferring others nearby.

This hotel was perfect. Everyone that worked there was very professional. Housekeeping even got out of the elevator to give the guest priority. We waited 15 minutes to get our car from the vallet, which we didn't think was very long.

One of the best hotels I have stayed at in NYC! Larger than normal rooms, superb service from staff including fresh towels twice a day, bed turn down complete with chocolate mint on the pillow, very comfortable beds & a great price. I will definitely stay at the Omni on my next trip to NYC! On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 10+!

I've stayed here a couple of times and the midtown location is wonderful-- walk to big-time shopping, Broadway, etc. This time we arrived in a rainstorm and were thrilled to find an umbrella in the room. There is a decent gym, the valet parking was $35/night which in midtown is pretty reasonable... overall no complaints, and I am picky!

Location, location, location! Very attentive and overall friendly staff. Our room was very confortable and bright, even on a lower floor. The extras like the complimentary hot beverages in the AM and turndown service in the evening were wonderful treats. Make sure you do enroll in their OMNI preferred guest, it is free and worth a lot of extras! We definetely will be back.

Since this was my 1st trip to New York City, I was not sure of what to expect but the customer service was exceptional. We arrived early and while the hotel did not have a double room available for early check-in they did provide me with a king and provided a roller bed. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great location and easy access to all New York has to offer. I would definitely stay again.

We came back to this hotel after remembering a favorable stay 6 years ago. Good Midtown location, away from Times Square madness, close to MOMA. Great doorman who we remembered from our previous stay. Nice, efficient front desk and concierge. Room was "medium-size" for NYC, very clean. No in-room coffee maker was a downer. In room umbrella was key in the rainy weather. OK bar but breakfast was way over-priced (48 bucks for "gourmet" choices?)Overall, a classy place that we would come back to - just not eat in.

Our flight arrived at JFK at 6:15 am and we could really use a rest and freshening up. I called from the airport, hoping that if they had the room we could check in VERY early. We were invited to come by and they would accommodate us. The Omni Berkshire didn't have to do that, but we sure appreciated it. The staff was both friendly and efficient. Overall a very pleasant stay.

At 52 and Madison the Omni is walking distance to almost everything you would want to do. And there are quick and/or good restaurants all around. Only issue we had was getting the air conditioner in our room to work. It was mid-December, very cold outside but our room was very hot. Opening the window was our only option. I would stay at the Omni again.

We had stayed at this hotel previously and were delighted with our accomadations. This time, even though Expedia rated it as "Deluxe" Vs. "Standard", the room hardly met minimum acceptable. There were only four TINY drawers for your clothing and other belongings. The counter space in the bathroom was also TINY - not enough room for toilet articles.

Omni Berkshire Place really is stylish and elegant. Although, it's a older hotel, the quality of it represants luxury and old world charm. ALL the staff I encounted(especially the two doormen) were really helpful and well mannered. The room service workers cleaned my room really well and I love the marble and glass fixtures in my bathroom(I took a great shower). My bed and pillows were very comfortable Shoppers will definitely appreciated the hotel's location because Fifth and Madison Avenue are one or two blocks away! The hotel's restuarant is above normal dining prices, but I appreciated the quality of my meals. My room was not huge, but cities such as NYC, London and Paris usually have medium to small hotel rooms. Overall, I recommend staying at the Omni Berkshire because of its location and the respect its workers have for hotel guests.

We stayed at the Omni Berkshire for a long weekend getaway and were very please with the hotel. Through expedia, we got a great deal with this hotel. The rooms were very nice and the staff were extremely helpful. The only complaint that I had was that the items in the mini bar were quite expensive. If you need a drink in the room, stop at the store before you get one from the mini bar.

Berkshire Place has a distinctly European ambiance. The rooms are nicely and tastfully decorated and kept up well. The staff (doormen, front desk, concierge desk, wait staff) was uniformly responsive, efficient and pleasant on our last visit (January 2005). The only criticisms are (1) the breakfast price is NY-expensive and our room didn't have a coffee pot and (2) the room heating unit: as in many hotels, was either very on (noisy and gusty) or very off (it got cold fast!) and the wall thermostat readings and settings seemed to have nothing to do with it.

Our Thanksgiving Holiday Trip to New York and stay at the Omni Berkshire Hotel was wonderful. The staff was most polite and very helpful. They were very child friendly and the place was pact with visitors from all over. Being our first trip to NY we were not sure where to stay and liked what we saw on-line regarding the size and location of the Omni Berkshire Place on 52nd & Madison. In fact, it was such a nice hotel that some veteran NY'er traveler friends of ours changed hotels during their trip to stay at our hotel. All in all 5 star all the way!!! We will be going back, no doubt about that!

The Hotel was in a great location and for that I was very pleased. However, the service was not at all worth the 4 stars given. We waited for an hour for our bags with two phone calls to the bellman. One out of the 4 people working the Concierge desk really knew the city well enough to direct us around. I watched the others scramble with myself and other guests trying to help out. Our TV didn't remote didn't work and made 3 phone calls to housekeeping to get someone up to our room who knew how to fix the problem. The room was nice however, our view from the 3rd floor was of the roof and when I called to ask if there were other rooms available with better views, the front desk told me that "The Omni is not a hotel for 'views' of the city..."Overall, it was just not what I expected for what we paid and for a four star rated hotel.
