| the staff was excellent. the room was small, though quite clean and comfortable. the continental breakfast was very good and lasted us until early afternoon. the hotel is located 1/2 way up Nob Hill and is not an easy walk anywhere. while it is close to the Powell cable car, the car is often overloaded by that stop, so expect some wait. cabs are always a viable option.

| With only 26 rooms this place really does have a bed & breakfast feel to it. Lobby help was great with directions and things to do. Comfortable rooms and close walk to anything you want in SF. Great breakfast with fresh breads and fruits to start your day and nice wine reception at night. If your there to sight see then the small rooms are no biggie. Get one with a fireplace...nice touch. Would stay there again.

| The only complaint we have is that you can hear the other guests. It is an older building, as is much of San Francisco. We could hear people in the room above us when they walked, and there was a little creaking. If you stay there, definitely get a room with the fireplace. Although it is a gas log, it does provide warmth and adds to the atmosphere.
