Overall, our stay was nice (beautiful pool, good location), but the service needs improvement. It took over 45 minutes to check in (only two people ahead in line), and when I asked if our room was an Ocean View, I was told yes. The room I was given was clearly not Ocean View--the first clue was the view of a wall), and I was promised an Ocean View the next day. I was also promised a credit on my bill (which I had prepaid in full), and that the staff would move our luggage to the room while we were out. None of the promises were honored, and I had to call repeatedly to get an Ocean View room with the right beds. I also had to make multiple trips to the front desk to have the keys encoded properly, which is quite annoying. Especially when having to stand in line again and again. But the positive aspects of the hotel are: location (close to marina), nice grounds (especially the massive koi pond), excellent pool next to the beach, and friendly staff. And the booth where you can book canopy tours, dune buggies, horseback rides, swimming with dolphins, etc. is invaluable. Very convenient, and I would highly recommend using the hotel's services to book adventures with this convenience. The hotel stores are also a nice touch, especially the one that sells drinks and food.

This was the first time my boyfriend and i stayed at the Marriott in Puerto Vallarta and we loved it. We wouldnt stay anwhere else. Everyone was really friendly and its more of a family hotel. The food was excellent and the room was too. The beds were so comfortable and soft. Our room was cleaned twice a day. I have no complains about this hotel.

The beds are very comfortable, and the service is excellent throughout the hotel. Rooms are well-stocked with shampoo, etc., little chocolates at night, and plenty of towels. Breakfast buffet is a must! Great variety of foods, and all very well prepared. Activities really do happen according to schedule around the pool; one can rent kayaks or a sailboat from the hotel beach, or even take a ride on a banana boat. Excellent taxi service from the entrance to the hotel, and prices are standard (no ripoffs!)

I just returned from a five day trip to PV. The Marriott is clean and safe. It seems dated and some areas of the hotel were not well maintained (bathrooms by the pool were filthy). The beds were good. It was very hot and damp and most areas of the hotel had no ac. Keep in mind that the beach has packed, dark sand with rough seas and many people encountered sand fleas. The hotel restaurants were not very good so I would suggest going elsewhere. I did like the deli because they had light snacks and beverages. The PV Marina area seemed pretty seedy and filled with timeshare pitchers even in the restaurants. Go downtown for more food options.

Just like what everyone said--this was an awesome hotel. The grounds are gorgeous, the bedding luxurious, and the staff was very gracious and friendly. We've been to PV several times, but this is the first time we've stayed outside of town. We loved be around the marina and just being a short bus or cab ride into town. We would go back to PV mainly due to this hotel.

The hotel is magnificent. This hotel should be rated five stars. Every part of the room is just right-super comfortable beds, cholcolates on the pillows at night, luxurious bathrobes, and quiet luxury. The hotel staff is at your service. The only negative is that the river silt covers the ocean area every afternoon and the water looks nasty.

We found this hotel to be very accomodating for our family of four. The rooms were clean and the much needed ac was always operating. The water from the faucet and ice machines are also purified and filtered. The pool is large (jacuzzi was blazing hot though) and the poolside food/drink service was very convinient. The grounds are clean and well kept and the view of the bay is great. This hotel is on the marina end of town and is approximately 25 minutes from the busy downtown area. Taxis are easy to flag down and the cost to go downtown is about 6 usd one way. There is shopping, fishing/excursions, and restaurants/mini marts within a short walking distance from the hotel along the marina. There is also a bus stop if you prefer to pay less in transportation fares. We were glad we were on the quiet end of town. The only complaint I have is that service anywhere in Mex is slower so you need to exercise patience. The bellhops were always very helpful.

We did an all inclusive package, which was well worth it. There are four great places to eat and virtually everything included with the package - just things like lobster are extra. The service staff made the trip memorable - they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you want and that you're having a fun time. Would return here, it's worth every penny.

The hotel was expansive and beautiful. I was amazed seeing workers day after day working on maintaining the grounds. The result was a beautiful set of grounds to be enjoyed and admired. The staff was friendly knowledgeable and very attentive. Accomodations were specious and comfortable- beds had been completely replaced in the entire hotel a few weeks before my stay- double pillow top for a quality rest. The food was a little expensive, but still reasonable, compared to what you can get in the marina (a short walk from the hotel) or downtown. All in all, a wonderful place to go.

They lost my credit card slip to begin with, the maid left my room open after she cleaned it, and we have pictures of the mold on the walls and chairs in the hotel room. We also had to wait 20 minutes in line to check out and I finally had to grab someone from concierge to do so! I would never return to this hotel!

My husband and I were in Puerto Vallarta for 5 days and had an excellent stay at the Marriott. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and we absolutely loved the pool area. Hotel service was great, from our incredibly easy check-in (did not even have to go the front desk), to the concierge services, to the pool staff. Everyone was very kind and helpful. As far as the beach vendors go, I said 'no gracias' and they left me alone. To me, not a big deal at all. My only complaint of the hotel was our room. It was nice enough, with a beautiful view of the ocean, but it was definitely a little outdated. However, who really spends that much time in their room when on vacation?? In all, I would definitely recommend this hotel because of its fantastic setting and its beautiful hotel grounds/services.

This was my best hotel stay ever. The room was larger than expected and very comfortable. The AC was already on and set for 70 which was very nice to walk into after arriving in the Mexico heat. Hotel staff was really great. Everyone speaks English. Had the best meal at La Estancia. We were not impressed with the Sushi at Mikado because they put cream cheese in there sushi which drowns out the already small portions of the other fillers and meats. Also, we were very disappointed with our food at Champs sports bar because there soup tasted like flavored water, there nacho cheese wasn't fully melted, and the whole place smells like cigarette smoke. And lastly there seems to be no way to turn down room service which is unnecessary for us. And although we were not in our room much we seemed to have been bothered quite a bit with people knocking on the door even with the Do Not Disturb sign hanging from the door. Other than that still a great resort and we plan to return.

We travel alot and there are not alot of places we would return to but PV is one we would go back to.

We arrived at noon along with several other guests, but no one was able to get a room until 4. Once we got a room though, things went perfectly. The bed was comfortable. Room service was quick. Chairs around the pool were plentiful. The hotel was a bit far from the malecon, about a 20 minute cab ride. But overall, the hotel was very nice.

We spent 5 nights and 6 wonderful days at the CasaMagna and can't wait to go back. This was our third trip to PV but our first stay at this property and we will definitely stay at the Marriott on our next visit. Grounds are lush and well-maintained throughout the property. The pool area is an oasis for sun-worship or relaxing under an umbrella with a good book. The poolside restaurant is ideal for lunches as the staff will take your order from your chaise lounge and you can eat poolside. All hotel staff were extremely welcoming and attentive throughout our stay, particulary the concierge and the bell men. Our room was on the 8th floor with a westward view. Evening views of the sunset with the waves crashing below were perfection.

We split our time between the Marina and Malecon (downtown boardwalk) and we were very pleased with the convenience of both.

The Marriott Casa Magna Resort was absolutely great. The staff treats you like royalty and the room was terrific. We didn't get the greatest view but we didn't mind since we spent the time in our room only to sleep. Steps away from the beach and only one block away from the local marina where you can shop, eat and relax, the Casa Magna resort is a great location in Puerto Vallarta. Make sure to visit the Marina for great restaurants. Taxis are cheap and if you are really an adventurous, the buses can take you around town for dirt-cheap. Make sure to visit "Centro" for shopping and restaurants because the hotel restaurants are quite costly. Also, beware of time-share sharks everywhere. Time-share salesman and local merchants are not allowed on the property so you are safe there. Be sure to review "day trips" for great adventures. The resort is very family friendly and the weather was perfect during our stay in April. We will definitely be going again and will stay at this high-class resort.
