| The Sunset worked well for our family of four. The room was big enough and the kitchen was well equipped with the necessary pots, pans and utensils. The pool was nice but windy and it got shady by early afternoon. The free wireless on the 6th floor was a nice perk although I did use the pay for 24 hour access in-room network once. Proximity to the beach, Kapiolani park, Aquarium and Zoo was great. Parking was easy and as a guest there was always space. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Housekeeping did miss one day due to the place being full and most days they didn't show up till late afternoon. Not due to negligence, just busy.

| I had read reviews of hotel before. Most were good, one about bugs in room and clogged bathtub and not good service. It must be room 812 because ours had little bugs in the bathroom and kitchen counter. The tub drain was completly out. I had to leave all our bathroom stuff in zip lock bags and did not cook once because I didn't want bugs in our food. The housekeeper didn't do a very good job the first day and showed up the minute we walked in the door from being out all day and said she couldn't come back. When we asked her to come in and clean she wouldn't make both beds or vacuum. Sheets we not changed in a week bathrooms not cleaned. Beds very hard.Hotel is not only a hotel it has owners-tenants-and guest. Some people live there daily. Front desk told us it took 45 minutes to stadium when it was 1 1/2 hours each way. Pay more stay elsewhere.

| Our stay at Waikiki Sunset was very nice for the price we paid. The room was nice & clean. We had a very nice view of honolulu with 1-bedroom & a kicthen. The pool was great for my children they really enjoy it. The only problem we had was waiting for the elevators. Sometimes it took over 10-20 minutes of waiting & most of the time it was always full where you had to wait for another one.But we will return for another stay....

| The location is fine; we made reservations in November for March for a King suite. We ended up with two twins shoved together because there were no kings left. It turned out ok, but... The elevators were so busy that we sometimes had to wait 10 minutes for them. The maid did not replace items we needed unless we left her a note. The pool was nice. The room was clean. We did not have these problems a few years ago.

| This is definitely a great find. The hotel is minutes from Waikiki beach and all the action there, it is also close to the Aquarium, the Zoo, and has a great view of Diamond Head. It is steps from a bus stop where you can get on and get to just about anywhere on the island within an hour. Or you can walk down Kuhio and hit all kinds of gift shops and other hotels and resorts. Definitely a bargain, it is a good place to recharge your batteries inbetween trips to places to see.

| We really enjoyed the hotel. IT's just 2 blocks off the beach and we had a view of the water between buildings so could watch surfers and boats out our window. The pool is on the roof of the parking garage. It's fun with dark blue water and 3 turtles on the bottom. They have several options for beds. We ended up with a double and twin in the bedroom and a full size pull out bed in the livingroom. Perfect for the 5 of us. They were very good about changing our room right away when the first room just had 2 twins in the bedroom. We called and they set us up in a new room right away. Plenty of towels. We had to call for sheets for the pull out bed, though. But they came right away. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay.

| you don't look too closely for cleanliness and the "ants" (looks like ants, maybe the Hawaiian version?). There was mold in the bathroom and in the edges on the kitchen countertop -- just don't look too closely in general... The location is good for drivers because you did not have to enter and exit onto a busy street, but it is still a few blocks walk to/from the beach. On a more positive note, I did not find the elevators too much of a problem, and the view was very nice ... plus, it is a full suite with a complete kitchen, so it's not all bad... just that mold and insects bother me a lot, so personally, I would not want to stay here again...

| If you want to stay at a low profile easy to get in and out of Waikiki hotel, the Waikiki Sunset is just the place for you. Conveniently located just a block from the beach and a block from the zoo, you don't have to go all the way through Waikiki every time you want to drive away from it. The sundry store was convenient to get food items for the kitchenette and the accommodations were roomy enough to have sleep overs for our 3 children and 2 of their cousins for an occasional treat. Parking was only $7 a day and there was plenty of spots. We really enjoyed our stay!

The only thing I would say was of a little annoyance was the buzzing sound of the hotel air conditioning, which we felt when going to bed eventhough we turn off the air conditioning for our room. But the price was very reasonable, only 2 blocks from the beach.

| We stayed for nine days and given that we recieved every fourth night free, we were happy. The hotel is quite basic. The rooms are clean and the facilities are good. Also, you won't complain about the location to the beach and transport. The only real issue that you will have is with the lifts. You can spend five minutes waiting for the lift and then travelling to the ground floor. You may have to make four or five stops on the way down though! This is a good hotel overall. I would stay there again. The fact that they have a full sized kitchen is a huge help if you are trying to save some money.

| The Aston Waikiki Sunset features condo living. Great for families & it has an internat'l patronage; Japanese, Chinese, French, German are some of the languages heard on the elevators. The staff is courteous; front desk a little disorganized, but once you're checked in it's easy sailing. AMENITIES: The concierge/activities desk persons are knowledgeable-least one is bilingual. There is a pool, tennis courts & the 6th flr features a free wireless network for laptop addicts & access to computers for a very reasonable & nominal fee. There are no restaurants in this complex but they abound w/in very easy walking distance. Most rooms feature furnished kitchens. Garage w/ in/out privileges is available for a very reasonable daily fee. CHALLENGES: ELEVATORS! Although there are 4 elevators in this bldg, expect to wait several (more than three, often five) minutes for an elevator. Don't even try it during check-in time when large groups may be arriving. The housekeeping staff also use the elevators so you may find yourself sharing an elevator with a service cart, luggage rack, cleaning supplies, etc., which takes up much needed space to move 30+ plus floors' occupants.
