| The room was bigger than expected, although not as big as American hotels. The bathroom was better than its American counterparts with a separate shower and large tub. Free high-speed internet is available, but you have to ask the front desk for the hookup kit. Service was excellent. The subway entrance is connected to the hotel. Go to basement level 2 on the side near the JR rail tracks. From there, you can access both the JR rail and Metro stations at Shimbashi, which are the best means of transportation around the city.

| The staff was incredible. Concierge picked the best resturants, in any price range, like a very good noodle house for under ten dollars. My teenager got very sick, they had him to a doctor and back to the hotel room with medications in around an hour. They sent up a thermometer and ice pack. Loved the heated toilet seats with bidets, and the large tubs with separate large showers. The twin beds were much bigger than I've ever seen. Hotel was quiet, comfortable, and on the weekends, they might even have a Japanese wedding to see, we did.

| We stayed at the Dai Ichi Tokyo last week and were so impressed with the level of service and the warm and professional staff. This hotel is conveniently located to the Shimbashi train station which easily gets you around the city in no time. Walk to the Ginza and shop til you drop! Stop in any dept store basement and get yourself something to eat- and shop some more! The Hotel restaurants are a bit pricey but it's not like there is a shortage of restaurants in this town. The Hotel bakery is loaded with french pastries that rival any bakery in Paris. We'll be back next year. Thank you Dai Ichi Tokyo for making a fabulous vacation even more exceptional!

| Pros: The Dai Ichi hotel provided large, clean, comfortable rooms and great service for a terrific price. The location is excellent as well with close-by convenient access to the Ginza district and Shimbashi station (Tokyo Metro subway system stops there as well as the JR subway line. It's only two quick stops to Tokyo station to transfer to the bullet train, airport trains, and buses too). I liked very much that the hotel offered non smoking rooms as well since there is so much smoking in Japan in general - it was nice to have a smoke-free escape to retire to at the end of the day. The bathroom had a nice deep tub to soak in and a separate shower - very roomy and clean. Cons: The top floor restaurants were expensive and but an easy and fun alternative was to scout out local restaurants nearby (there were lots of them). The pool and fitness facilities were excellent too, but unlike US hotels, there was a fee to use them - also a bit pricey.

| If you're looking for a clean, comfortable hotel to stay in with good centralized location this is a perfect hotel. The imperial palace is within easy walking distance and it's right next to the Shimbashi train station and close to the Tokyo Central train station so it's good location if you plan on making day trips from Tokyo.

| The Dai-Ichi Hotel was fabulous! You couldn't beat the price for the caliber of hotel. We had wonderful accommodations and top notch service. The 12 restaurants within the hotel were very pricey and we did not eat there, but knew that going in. What we liked most was that the location was off the beaten path in Shinbashi and very quiet and relaxing after a heavy day of touring. Also, it is a short block to walk to the nearest subway station. Definitely an enjoyable stay and highly recommended. Thanks Expedia!

| I like the Dai-Ichi because it is a quality hotel close to a busy railway station and within walking distance of the Ginza and other places in central Tokyo. The only darwback is that it is not particularly business friendly and charges for using the business facilties in a very public area are too high.

| The Dai Ichi, despite its obvious intention to cater to the business class of traveler, served very well for a leisure vacation. The rooms are well kept and modern. The maid service is prompt and efficient. The front desk staff all speak English well enough that you should not have any problems communicating your desires. The best thing of all about this hotel is the location for the price. With Expedia, you can have what is otherwise a borderline luxury hotel for half the price you would expect in Tokyo. The Dai Ichi is located literally right next to Shimbashi station, which is not nearly as busy as nearby Tokyo station, but still allows you easy access to all of the city. In addition, the Imperial Palace and Ginza are both easy walks away, as are numerous night spots. convenience stores (for a quick, cheap meal and necessities).

| The Dai-ichi Hotel is a good option for budget travellers looking for 4-star acommodation in Tokyo. The biggest drawback is that the closest train station to the hotel is Shimbashi, which doesn't have great connections with the stations that are closest to the major Tokyo sites.

| I just got back from my visit to Japan last week. While I was there, I stayed at this hotel and was really glad with my choice. It's just block away from the Shibashi station where you can take either the JR lines or the Tokyo Metro. Easy to get to from the Airport either by JR or airport bus if you arrange with the hotel first. Room was gorgeous, the bed may not be as comfortable as by American standard, meaning it isn't as soft, it is still very impressive. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Free DSL internet connection in your room as long as you have your own laptop. Restaurants, of course, are expensive inside the hotel, but there are lots of eateries and convenience stores within walking distance where you can get good and cheaper food. Do recommend to go up to the 21st floor and have a drink at the lounge and enjoy the Tokyo skyline at night.

The rooms may be a little smaller than the excess we, as Americans, may be used to. Nonetheless, room quality is superb. Needless to say, every time I travel to Tokyo, from now on, I am definitely staying at the Dai-Ichi Hotel.

| The quality of the service at this hotel was exceptional - from the bellman to the concierge. The night before our flight I discovered I had accidentally thrown away my Narita express tickets which is how we were getting to the airport the next morning. I flagged down one of the housekeepers who called the head of housekeeping. They went through that day's trash. They brought me my trash in a plastic bag w/my room number on it (I'm not sure if they separate the trash for each room). It wasn't in there - I told them I thought I had more trash so they continued to search the hotel trash. They told me to stay in my room and they would bring the trash to me. As they were searching, I picked one of the envelopes that was sitting in our trash can and found our tickets. I felt stupid but thanked them. They seemed so genuinely happy and relieved that I had found the tickets. Just an example of the type of service you'll find at this hotel

| Being unfamiliar with this chain, I was pleasantly surprised to find its first-class style - a true four-star hotel by American standards, though the health club was in a separate building for a separate fee (only negative). Very much a hotel catering to business interests, it is nicely situated for tourists as well. Connected to the metro through underground walkway, walking distance to Ginza, Imperial Palace & area local cafe's and restaurants, which saved a lot of money by not having to eat at hotel restaurants. On top of it all, a well-versed English-speaking staff who enjoyed their jobs and were always glad to help with tips on how to use the metro, where to find things and places to go. Free in-room high-speed internet as well.

| Enjoyed our stay at the Dai-Ichi very much. We found the staff to be helpful but not overly solicitous. The room was clean, comfortable, large bath tub. Mattresses too hard for American tastes, and take some getting used to. Location great, close to Ginza and train station. Food in hotel also quite good, although quite pricy. Surprisingly good food for a hotel. All in all, very good experience.

The service was quite impressive overall. Excellent location, within a block from the nearest subway station. Don't be worried by the "single bed" option--its two beds pushed together to be the size of a king.

| I have stayed at the Daiichi over the past year about every 6 weeks for several days at a time, and am quite happy with the quality and comfort of the Daiichi. The rooms are large, comfortable and well-appointed. The bathrooms are large, well-appointed, with all the amenities. Late check-out is frequently available. High speed internet connection is included with the room. If you buy the room through Expedia, the price is excellent for the area. The premium rooms are the same size as the deluxe rooms (just different floors in the hotel). Although the restaurants in the hotel tend to be pricey, there are excellent restaurants within a short walk and the concierge is happy to find these for you. My only negative comment is that there is not a fitness center at the Daiichi Hotel Tokyo. However, for runners, the path around the Imperial Hotel is a short distance away.
