Very nice stay for the time we were there. The room was clean however we did not get the King bed as requested when booked a month prior. we checked in at 2:30PM and was told none were available so we had to settle for 2 double beds. other than that it was a quite stay and the staff was nice.

The overall atmosphere is much more like a motor inn or motel than a hotel (two floors, front balcony, 55 rooms, parking lot in front with a small pool in the parking lot. Rooms were certainly adequate, and I would recommend this hotel for those on a budget. Although a little worn the furnishings were fine, and I had a comfortable stay. The restaurant and bar are actually across a small non-busy street in a neighboring property, and the complimentary breakfast was rather Spartan.

I confess that I was a little nervous about staying at this "motel". We were in town for the Ellen show, so we chose the motel based on location (a 17 minute walk to the studio) and the competive rate. It ended up being a great choice! The staff (front desk) is extememly friendly and service oriented. They help with directions, restaurant recommendations, and will print your boarding pass for you :-) The room was clean AND ours was quiet (room 206) - no street noise. I would highly recommend this motel if you are simply looking for a decent place to sleep at night - not a lot of amenities - at a great price.

Close to Burbank airport. i talked with the staff on several occasions, asking for directions, restaurant options, etc...it was always a pleasant interaction.

A good place to stay with the kids and to use as a base of operations. It's a good place to sleep with a pretty good restaurant at the sister property next door. Some of the things they advertised don't ring true. The 80 degree pool is more like 70 (COLD!). The single room window is small and doesn't open. The towels are thin, rough and cheap Indian imports. Otherwise it is a somewhat kitchy, slightly noisy, place to lay your head after a long day touring Universal, the studios, or any other SOCAL festivities!

This is a fine place if you are looking for a clean motel without great amenitites. It is convenient to the freeway, is clean, the free internet and free parking is a plus. The continental breakfast is meager. There is a good donut place and a McDonalds close by. The pool is small but a great place for kids.

I was put in a room next to a group of guests (2-3 rooms)that were talking outside from 8:00 - 12:00 all three nights. The service at the sister hotel restaurant was fine until I was ready to pay. I waited at least 10 minutes for the waitress to take the bill folder. Then I went to the cash register and waited. After a few minutes I replaced the cash in the folder with exact change and left the bill folder by the cash register.

This is a great little hotel. It was reasonably priced and a decent location. Rooms were very clean and nicely updated. It was easy to get to Hollywood from here and most other places around LA from here. My only complaint would have been with the "continental" breakfast. All that was ever placed out for breakfast was a few pieces of fruit, some orange juice, coffee and either danish or mini-muffins. It was disappointing.

This place was nice enough, but I wouldn't necessarily bill it as a hotel. It is more of a motel - the check in area is a special office located in the parking lot (as motels usually have) and the entire set up is motel style. Granted, the inside probably makes it one of the nicer motels that I have stayed at, but still a motel.

Upon check in the man was not exactly customer friendly. Although the next morning the front desk yound lady was extremely courteous, willing to assist with anything, and had the biggest smile no matter what my request. Would recommend the hotel on just her service alone. Overly easy access hotel to Hollywood, all the studios, three freeways, abundant shopping and nightlife.

This retro 50's motel has appeared in scores of television programs and movies (including Apollo 13). The big attraction is the look which smacks of those roadside layovers along route 66 from half a century ago. Although the smalish rooms have been upgraded and the serivce was solid, the accomodations are minimally comfortable, feeling more like a plush cell than a fine hotel room. (Picture a gangster in the pen with a carpet, television, fridge, and attentive guards. Don't get me wrong, it isn't a terrible place to stay - just an ordinary one. The one big plus was room service which was fast, cheery, and unexpectedly tasty. You'll sleep soundly, but if you stay here, make sure you have someplace to go during the days lest you feel the walls creeping in on you.

After I brought in all of our luggage and prepared to settle after a long day I pulled back the bedspread to find the linens from the previous guest had not been changed out. It took along time for me to get fresh linens, I then had to make the bed myself. The room also had a strong, unfriendly odor. It was on a busy street with alot of noise also. Would definately not go back.

Safari Inn is an older motel that has been upgraded. While nothing flashy, I tho't it was tastefully decorated. The room was very clean, NO bad smells, and the room A/C was quiet. The shower worked fine. The bed was ok, but too hard for me. I did hear people in the adjacent rooms. Biggest downside was no elevator (I was on the 2nd floor and unable to carry my larger bag up the stairs) and no bellmen. Regardless, I would stay there again, as it was confortable and reasonably priced for the area.
