This hotel is just great! We had one of the room on the second level with the vaulted ceilings. The rooms are just the right size, very clean, and the bathrooms are huge by hotel standards. The balcony off the back of the room faced the forest and was perfect for drinking coffee in the morning. The woodburning fireplaces were romantic at night. While the entire staff was good, the staff at the bar were particularly good. This hotel is not in the heart of Banff, so you really should have a car. We liked the location because it was a little secluded. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

My Husband and I went to the lodge for our 1st Anniversary. Everything was wonderful about it. We loved having breakfast there every morning. The only thing that was not exactly how I imagined it was that it is not secluded. It is out of town, but there are many other places to stay all around. We really enjoyed our stay and will highly recommend it.

The setting is beautiful, the decor is tastefully rustic, the staff is great and the main dining room had wonderful fare and service. My only complaint is the quality of the bed: hard with inadequate support. Reminded me of hotel beds in Europe.

this place is great for those wanting a rustic feel to go along with their ski trip. The room wasnt huge (we had a deluxe queen) but the fireplace was a nice touch. And they restock your firewood and rebuild your fire every day. All you have to do is light a match after a day on the slopes. The only thing is that I enjoyed Lake Louise more tha Sunshine Village (Ski Norquay isnt worth the time), so I might stay in Lake Louise next time. 15 minutes from Sunshine and 45 from Lake Louise.

We had a wonderful stay here. The food is excellent and the staff cannot do enough for their guests. The only drawback is at times we could here the folks staying above us, so you may want to request a top floor room. We also loved the large outdoor hottub.

What a great place. My only regret was that I didn't have enough vacation time to spend a few extra days. My fiance and I went up to Banff for 3 nights and loved the lodge and the town. The town is a little 'touristy', but a 5 minute drive puts you in the middle of great wilderness. The people at the lodge were extremely helpful and the rooms were comfortable (fireplace and balcony w/ view). The dining was good, although pricy.
