When we first arrived the majestic pick up wasnt very accomodating, it was more like a cost effective way of transportation.I wasnt very pleased with their service. The drivers were very unfriendly and seemed to be in a rush to dump us off to the hotel. When we got to the hotel it was a totally different experience. We were greeted by a very warm welcome. We were escorted to the conceirge, whom gave us Momosas (yum). We filled out some paper work and were then sent to eat. After we finished eating we ventured out, the scenery was amazing. Crystal clear waters, white sands, plush gardens the tropics as you would expect them. At two o'clock we went back to the check in area and were given key cards for our room. Our luggage was already awaiting us in the room along with a stocked bar and stocked fridge. We had a couple of drinks and ventured back out. The first on our list was the pool, we had a blast. We then ate at one of the restaruants, the food was great. I recommend going to Kimonos first, the food is good but it is a great environment to meet friends.Maker reservations as soon as you check in. We had about 10 couples as our buddies before our trip was over, 1 of which has become permanent friends.I didnt like the Barracrat, really overrated but everything else was awesome. We did the snorkeling, which was pretty fun. Jet skiing which also was a hoot, you can negotiate with the guys who run the jet skies. We paid 100 bucks for two people for 1 hour, worth every penny.

We were greeted with wonderful hospitality and it continued throughout the week. Requests were granted promptly and courteously. The fine dining was spectacular, the spa services were top notch and the setting was as beautiful as it gets. It's a happy place and we would definitely return to do all the things we didn't have time for in 7 days and repeat many of the things we did try. It rained for 2 days and we were impressed with how quickly the staff came up with alternate activities for couples.

Very relaxing, staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Facilities were excellent - many pools, wirlpools, restaurants, bars, a spa, and a fitness center. We didn't even leave the resort. Food was excellent in every restaurant as well. We highly recommend it and are planning on going back next year!

Our trip to the Royal Bahamian was awesome. When we arrived, we were automatically upgraded 3 categories to a Villa suite (we didn't even ask). All of the food was excellent. Take the snorkeling trip right from the Sandals dock. It's only about 45 minutes, but it is definitely worth it(and it's free). Just remember to sign up the day before at the watersports desk. Also, they have a new restaurant on the pier called the Pier Grill. It is only supposed to be available to Butler Service rooms but the concierge offered it to us (there is an extra fee for this dinner). There are about 10 tables out at the end of the pier for a sunset dinner. It was 100% worth every penny we paid!!! Everyone at the resort was incredibly nice and helpful. Dinner in the Crystal Room was excellent.

The service was good and the staff very polite. The food was typical for this type of resort, very similar to other four star resorts I have stayed at. We stayed for three nights, the weather was nice but a bit windy, the island was closed every day we were there. So much for that. The room was clean and well stocked with liquor, beer, water and soft drinks. There are two main pools and small pools near the back side of the resort. Check in and check out was quick and simple. The hotel is showing some age, but well maintained.

Just back from Sandals. Had a fun time! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Always asking what they could do for us, etc. Meals were o.k. Not much seafood. Eat at the Baccarat and Crystal Room. Wonderful meals, but need reservations. Make them the day you arrive, or you won't get in. Kimonos restaurant really fun. Smaller beach then we expected. No where to really walk far. Off shore island-awesome and very quiet! Lots of weddings going on. Rooms were o.k. We paid for a "regency" room, then we were told we were upgraded, but our room was on the 1st. floor ocean view-kinda. Very loud at night. Insist on an upper floor, forsure. Piano bar lots of fun at night, disco kinda dead at night. House band-wonderful music. Not many people participated in scheduled activities during the day. Exercise room on upper floor overlooks everything-beautiful views, check it out. Hidden hot tub over by Manor building-fun late at night. Couples bring their drinks and music. Have visited many other countries, probally would check out other countries again, before going back. All in all, fun trip, nice place.

This was our first stay at a Sandals Resort. I was a little disappointed in the condition of the hotel. I was told it was one of the nicer Resorts. The resort needs a facelift. Our room had mold in the bathroom (we were in the villas). The air conditioner was working but a piece of paper was used to rig it to keep the front panel closed. The beach and pools were beautiful and the private island was a great place to go to escape the crowds. The restaurant situation is a problem since you cannot make reservations ahead of time.

The staff was superb - so friendly and always ready with a smile and an answer to a question. The private island was like having your own private island with a great beach. Each of the restaurants had a very special cuisine and it was so fun trying new things. We especially enjoyed Cricketers Pub and the 'chips and cheese' Definitely a must-try while you are there!!

We have stayed at other all-inclusives as well as another Sandal's property and this one was the best yet. The entertainment and food was terrific. Beach was clean and beautiful. Free snorkleing at Sandals as well as snorkeling with a local company was awesome. Service was mostly good with a few exceptions but you do get spoiled. Health club on site was heavily used and not well cleaned or serviced (some equipment was out of service and not repaired) but was usable (great views!). The advertisement pictures always shows people very well dressed - don't let this discourage you, dress is casual. No suits needed. Frig in room (premium) was constantly stocked with bottled water, soda and juice. We were happy with all the places we ate. We will be returning!

This hotel was everything we were hoping for, clean, accessible and lively. There was little or no reason to leave the resort although we did on Christmas day as we woke up to to heavy rain (not the hotel's fault). If you want to relax and have a little fun in between this is the place to go. It was also refreshing not to have kids around for a change. Everyone should try it once.

We stayed in July of 2005 and really liked the resort. Staff was friendly. The food was great, not stellar. Pools and pool bars were a ton of fun, but you have to get to the pool early if you want a chair. The water sports are really cool. We didn't go to the private island because we heard so many different couples complain about being bitten up by the mosquitos over there. We really thought the overall experience at Sandals was great, so we are going to try the one in St. Lucia this year.

We spent the week before Christmas at the Royal Bahamian. That could be why it was pretty dead. If you're looking for wild night life and beach/pool parties during the day, this is not your resort. The food was really good at all of the restaurants, especially Casanova's. Make your reservations for Baccarat and The Crystal Room early because they book up fast! When you get there, go to the resort orientation (held each day at 10 am and 5 pm). It's about 45 minutes long but has very useful info. The island had nasty sand fleas that bite, but the bites don't itch. They told us the fleas (and mosquitoes) get worse at night, so we decided to not go to the restaurant on the island at night (which requires reservations also). The drinks aren't very strong, but good. The staff is incredible. They only have one windsurfer, a few kayaks and maybe 5 sailboats. Pretty small beach area. The snorkel trip was fantastic-it had some great fish and coral to view, but the actual snorkel time in the water was only 25 minutes. Ask questions about what you'll be doing in the SCUBA training session before you pay the $70 to get 'resort certified'. You may not be as strong a swimmer as you need to be to pass their course. Bring some Immodium AD and Dramamine of your own just in case. They sell it at the resort and downtown, but it's expensive. You can go downtown for $1 on the very safe bus.

The food was excellent!!!Yes, you have to make reservations for the French food, international food, and bahamian food on the island when you arrive but there is Hibachi, Italian, Pub food--more than enough places to eat every night without reservations. The people and service was like being treated like royalty. The beaches were amazing and the bar staff was charming. We loved it!!

Very nice resort, beautiful beaches and the private island was incredible. Food was wonderful, but was very hard to get a reservation. We just walked up to the restaurants that we couldn't get a reservation in and asked if there were any cancellations; every time we were seated. Swim up bartenders were excellent at times and lackluster at others. Sometimes it was very hard to get a drink (and it wasn't that busy). Transportation to the resort was great but transportation back wasn't reliable (didn't show up until 45 minutes after scheduled time). All in all, we'd give this hotel a 4 out of 5. I would consider this hotel again for a return visit.

This was a nice vacation for my boyfriend and myself, but we did hear a lot of complaints about room issues from other folks. We didn't have any problems though. The food wasn't the best, but I guess that's what you should expect from an all-inclusive resort. The liquor was top-shelf though, so that was nice. Beaches are beautiful and so are the pools.

When you get there your bags are automatically taken to your room. The service is great and the hotel is very nice. Downside is that we paid for an oceanview room. Instead we looked at an 1985 Toyota. After a complaint they moved our bags while we were at the pool the next day. It was an inconvience because they give you a 5 hour window when they will move you. Also you can't unpack when you get there. And it turned out that about 30 other couples had the same problem and recieved the same solution. "We will move you tommorrow" So as long as you don't let that get to you all will be great. On the positive the food and drinks where some of the best ever. Very premium liquors and top notch service everwhere. I will go back, just won't pay for the fancy room.

Just about everything was excellent. Great food. Extremely nice and helpful staff. Very well kept property. Very nice workout room overlooking Atlantic Ocean. Incredible drinks. Attentive spa staff. We experienced only three issues 1) the "sing along bar" had a very talented piano player (I usually do not like sing-alongs). Anyhow this was one of the few crowded gathering night spots during our particular week. However, when the bar was packed at 11pm (mid-night some nights) he would quit. There wasn't really anywhere else to go. Which brings me to 2) Dance club was empty. 11pm, midnight, 1am... the most people we ever saw on the dance floor 4. and 3) The piano bar was so crowded it took 10-15 minutes to get a drink. Could have just been the crowd. Other weeks maybe this dance club is crowded and not the piano bar, but personally would move bar staff from the empty bars to help service the packed bars.

My wife and I visited Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort for the first time in early January. We had been to an all-inclusive resort in Aruba a few years ago and were not impressed but we decided to give Sandals a try. Are we ever glad we did!! From the friendly staff (and the citizens of the Bahamas)to the terrific food, we enjoyed every minute!! The only thing negative we could possibly say was that the pool was not heated. The weather was around 80 degrees during the day but the pool was rather cold. It didn't matter much to us as we spent most of our time doing the many other things that were going on. We will definitely go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We chose a suite that overlooked the ocean and pool to celebrate our anniversary. What a view! This suite came with butler service. Each night our bed was turned down and hotel robes laid out. What a treat! Our butler catered to our every whim and then some. One night our tub was filled with bubbles and rose petals. On the side were choc dipped strawberries and chilled champagne and candles. This suite had a full liqour bar with large bottles of liqour, wine and champagne. The brand of vodka we drink was not on the bar. We happened to mention it to our butler and later that evening one arrived at our door on a silver tray. We stayed during a cold week, in the high 60's and it rained two of the days we were there. We were still able to go scuba diving, which was wonderful and rent a car to go see the island and shop! Every staff member we met was smiling and very friendly. They really made you feel welcome. We can't wait to go back when the weather is warmer!
