| My fiance and I stayed at the Sheraton for our destination wedding and honeymoon, and we are so glad we did. We actually had guests staying in all three wings of the hotel which gave us a chance to check out the whole property. As others have mentioned before, you definitely want to spend a little extra on a room in the Beach or Ocean wings. The garden rooms aren't terrible; they're clean and the one we visited even had a great view of the ocean. They're just not as well-appointed as the ocean view and beachfront rooms. We stayed in the Beach wing and our room was beautiful. The beds are more comfortable than any other hotel bed I've ever slept on, and the view from our room... well, the photos don't give you an accurate sense of how close this hotel is to the water. We were literally just a flight of stairs and a few steps from the sand. A huge breakfast buffet is included in the resort fee, and we enjoyed that every morning we were there. You'll probably want to go elsewhere for dinner, though. While the food is delicious, the resort's restaurants are obscenely overpriced. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful and most even knew that we were getting married and congratulated us. They even gave us a free bottle of champagne. We're definitely planning on making the Sheraton our home away from home any time we visit Kauai... hopefully for every anniversary. :)

| As expensive the rooms were for this hotel, we were extremely unsatisfied with the condition of the hotel. The carpet in our room was dirty and the whole room needed a remodel. Also, we were surprised that when we arrived at the hotel they charged us an extra "resort fee" on top of what we paid through Expedia. This resort fee was mandatory. Included in the resort fee was a buffet breakfast for which we had high hopes. Unfortunately, the food was pretty bad and the hotel kept running out of items like eggs and hash browns. I would not recommend this hotel. The snorkeling right outside of the hotel was very good though.

| My husband and I booked a last minute, 2nd anniversary trip (within 2 days of departure) to Kauai on a red eye flight. When we arrived very early in the morning, we were greeted by the friendliest staff who gave us a 10am early check-in and upgraded our garden view room to a partial-ocean view room on the 4th floor. The view was breathtaking. The room was nicely appointed (new furnishings, contemporary linens), including the most comfortable pillowtop mattress. The breakfast buffet is fabulous with a full range of hot and cold choices, including the best guava juice and fresh pineapple. The wait staff was charming and you cannot beat the open air dining room with spectacular ocean view. The grounds are extensive, immaculate and beautiful. For the size of the resort, it was quite intimate; we were always able to find a quiet, romantic spot alone to enjoy the sun, waves or lush gardens at any time of day. The pools, coastline, beach, views and flora are precisely what one expects from a trip to Hawaii, without the noisy, touristy traps that are prevalent on the other islands. Sheraton does offer a complimentary happy hour, hula and torch lighting every evening. Stay in Poipu for consistent sunshine; the rest of the island gets more rain. Do not be misled by weather forecasts that report chances of rain on the East or North, you're unlikely to see more than a 20 minute sprinkle here. You will not be disappointed with the Sheraton; we cannot wait to return.

| We loved this hotel! I highly recommend getting an oceanview room. The view from our room was amazing. The garden view rooms were very drab, and in need of remodeling. Our room was very clean, and had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The restaurant was pricey, but had good food and a great view.

| This has been one of the best value packages I have purchased. The Hotel Garden Wing was nice, not too small like others suggested. OK, they could have given a bit more space to the shower area but for the price I paid, it was OK. The beach was really nice and right on the hotel premises, service was excellent and its location was very centric. Overall, I would most definitely come back to the Sheraton Kauai! - Cinthia

| This hotel is a very basic, cheap experience. The food is below average but you get breakfast with a package. Also, we asked for cappucino and were told that the machine was broken and had been broken for over a year! The decaf served with breakfast is horrible. (I know--picky, picky). You can buy Starbucks regular coffee at the bar for $2.50 a cup. For the most part, hotel personnel are very nice. Ocassionally, you run into a grumpy individual, like the guy at the outdoor bar, but that's rare. For a little more money, you can get a drop-dead view of the ocean. The beach is good. I had a problem with the general seedy look of the room (stains on the carpet; dirt and stains on the closet doors; big time wear and tear on the entrance door to the room) but the owner lives in Arizona and probably doesn't stay there. My other big problem was lack of modern communication. The wireless service was down but had been down for quite a while. There are four computers set up in the lobby and two or three other cables for your laptop. The wait time to get on line was very frustrating, especially for people who were there for a conference. This isn't a luxury experience. If that's ok with you, it's a pretty good value and the sunsets are wonderful.

| Good value for the money. Room nicely appointed. Excellent service. Staff very accomodating and friendly. Beautiful beach, very good buffet breakfast included. Restaurants overpriced for dinner, but several outside choices available nearby. Had a couple of minor cleanliness issues that were taken care of promptly when reported. Pools used very little--too cold.Would benefit from more than one hot tub. Very pleasant experience on the whole and would return again.

| Service at the hotel was good. Full breakfast buffet was included with our room charge which was a nice surprise. You can also enjoy free mai-tais and Hawaiian entertainment as you watch the sunset. Hotel had its own beach so there was no need to drive to one. The only problem we had was that the room had a slight odor because the carpet near the bathroom was damp when we arrived. In all fairness to the hotel I did not complain about it. When the maid noticed the carpet was damp she called maintenance who brought a fan in to help dry it out.

| Poipu is an excellent location, and the Sheraton is a great place to day. Make sure to get a good map of the Island, otherwise finding where you want to go is tough! We stayed in the Garden View room, it was nice & quiet which is what we wanted. The hotel beach area is nice, it has a large sand area which makes it great for safe swimming. The garden pool is nice, not many people go there, perfect if you like low key. The gym is pretty good, the breakfast buffet was good, only wish that the $26 "resort" fee was included in the price. The food at the hotel is ok/good, but expensive, luckily there are other options close by.

| From the moment I pulled in from the moment I had to go home, everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. I stayed in an ocean front room. Check in time is 3:00, do not expect your room to be ready until 3:00. The sunsets from my room were spectacular. I think it is the best location on the island. The ladies at the activities desk were awesome in helping me plan my activities. The only problem, if you can say problem, was the lawn in front of the ocean side wing is often used for private parties. The weddings were ok, but Karoke at 8:30 p.m., the management did make up for it though. Check with the hotel prior to reserving your room for any special events.

| We stayed in a "garden View Room" I would not recommend at all - needs some updating. The Children's Pool is a SMALL wading area - not exactly what we were looking for. We did see the Ocean side rooms while we were there. This is the only type of room I would recommend - the difference was night and day.

| We reserved a non-smoking room with a king bed for our honeymoon. Our first night there we were switched around to three different rooms. All were smoking. The hotel assured us that all rooms were non-smoking, which was funny because the rooms they gave us had ashtrays on the balconies. Finally, on our second day, they gave us a non-smoking room - but it had two double beds! Nice way to treat honeymooners. Everything they did was second rate, from the brunch to not allowing their lounge chairs on the beach (six inches off the beach is OK). There are lots of beautiful places on Kaua'i - skip the Sheraton.

Our favorite part of the hotel was the open diningroom that was used for the morning buffet. It was open so you could see the beach and listen to the waves while you eat breakfast. We didn't have an ocean view in our room, but the garden view was great with all the flowers in bloom and birds watching the fish in the ponds.
